Strategy: Physically, Yamato is fairly strong, and so he’ll try to use various slams to wind his opponents. But his strength is the only positive aspect of his abilities. Since he isn’t good at escaping submission holds, pins, etc, his best chance at victory is to try overpowering his opponent as soon in the match as possible. But because of his clumsy nature, this tends to backfire on him rather often.

Machine Gun Chop: With the opponent leaning back into the corner, Yamato sends a barrage of knife edge chops in rapid succession to their chest, and usually finishes the barrage off with one last big chop at the end.

Banzai Charge: Usually done after running into the ropes, Yamato runs at the opponent before recklessly launching his entire body forward like a missile at his foe.

Sliding Lariat: With the opponent dazed and in a sitting position, Yamato runs into the ropes and launches himself toward the target, then slides down beside them while throwing his arm at their head with a huge lariat.

Personality: Yamato is a kind person, yet also competitive. Even though he’s not nearly as talented a wrestler as his sister, Mariko, he tries his best in his matches while also showing respect to his opponents. Yamato also quite easily gets extremely flustered in sexual situations, something which tends to give him a lot of trouble in matches against women.

Past/History: Raised in a small town in Japan, Yamato and his sister, Mariko, were seemingly the only ones around that cared about wrestling. The two wrestled each other quite often as they grew up together. Over the years Yamato worked out regularly and built his body up to be pretty strong for his size, but it gradually became obvious that it was his sister who was blessed with a talent for wrestling. As they grew older, despite being both bigger and stronger than his sister, Yamato found himself being pinned or forced to tap out in the vast majority of the matches. A part of him always enjoyed the feeling of being dominated in a match by a beautiful woman in a match, even if it was his sister (though he’d never admit something like this.)

But seeing how talented his sister was, he recommended she find a place where she could make use of her talent, and then helped Mariko train relentlessly to help her prepare for the AFW. However, after his sister left, Yamato became lonely. And eventually, he decided he’d leave and become a wrestler also. He wasn’t as talented a wrestler as Mariko, and he knew this would likely mean quite a few more losses than wins, but at least he’d be reunited with his sister. And so he packed his bags and set out to join Mariko as a wrestler for Tension in the AFW.

Fun Facts:

- Mariko and Yamato’s parents own a small bakery. Growing up, she and her brother helped around the store when needed, but neither of them ever bothered actually learning to cook, and now both of them are terrible at it.

- Yamato is a huge movie fanatic. His favorite movie is Seven Samurai, directed by Akira Kurosawa (who also happens to be his favorite director).

- Ever since the first wrestling show Yamato ever watched, his favorite wrestler has always been the legendary Toshiaki Kawada. Yamato even wears yellow and black ring gear in honor of him.
