Honor and Honour

Styx paused for a moment. Styx almost never paused for a moment.

As much as she was wrapped up in her fury, she could see the sense in the Odessa's words. She was making some decent points. Not everything she said was totally wrong. In a more agreeable, calmer setting, she might have found herself agreeing with Odessa on a few key items, especially about Liberty. She'd straddled the champion's waist much like she was doing Odessa, now. She'd explored her body, down to every dirty inch, and she knew what Liberty could have been if she wanted to be. But she didn't want to be. That was what made her perfect. In bed, out of bed, in the ring, out of the ring.

Odessa was right about a lot of things. She was right about Cecilia's reign. She was right about how this would look. She was right about this being the cowardly way out. But River Styx just did not give a fuck. Details could be sorted out after she won the #1 contendership.

She'd talked far more than enough for one day, and Styx decided to put an immediate end to it. Both of her hands went to the black beauty's throat, and she squeezed hard with a full, unadulterated choke, even leaning forward to put more force into it. Her eyes stared down, cold and heartless, watching Odessa slip away beneath her.

"Shut up." She muttered under her breath. Hardly a whisper. "Just shut up."

Odessa wondered what sort of effect everything she said was going to have on Styx. She doubted that it was all going to suddenly make the woman reasonable, convince Styx of the sheer lunacy of everything she was doing. No, she couldn't hope for that.

Perhaps the best Odessa could hope for was that her words might make River Styx think. And, judging by the look on her face, Styx was doing some thinking. She stopped for a second to mull it all over. Odessa would do her best to get in one more additional hasty breath before Styx decided on a course of action. She decided quickly. She didn't care what Odessa said. The ebony beauty would swallow hard as she felt the choking resume.

"Gannnh!" Odessa croaked, as she felt herself rapidly losing oxygen. The chokehold was powerful, and painful, and efficient. She knew that she would be out quickly if she didn't stop it.

Maybe that wasn't such a bad thing, though. Styx wouldn't beat up on Odessa while she was unconscious. There would be no fun in that for her. If she truly meant to cause Odessa serious injury, it might be better to allow herself to be choked out...

But Odessa's pride was never going to let her do that. She reached up and grabbed onto Styx's wrists, pulling desperately on them, trying to let herself breathe again.

Why was Odessa still awake? Why wouldn't she just go the fuck to sleep like a good little bitch?

Styx didn't have the answers, and that infuriated her, and that made her squeeze even tighter, if such a thing was even possible. The woman wasn't talking anymore, but that wasn't nearly enough. Styx could still see her eyes, and they were speaking volumes, far more than she was prepared to deal with at the moment. This was making her think, making her consider things, and that was just not what she wanted to have out of the AFW. She wanted to fight, all day, every day.

"Go to sleep." She ignored Odessa's feeble struggles and continued to bear down, as she leaned down and brought their faces close together. Her words came out as menacing whsipers. "Let it go dark. Just let it go."

Styx held on. Until the strength left Odesssa's mighty body, until she was out cold, until she was sure there wasn't any fight left.

Odessa tried to pry Styx's hands away from her throat, but, unfortunately for her, she was too injured and too oxygen-deprived already to be able to tear the hands of the brutal Styx from her windpipe. Slowly, Odessa felt the air leaving her lungs, and not being replaced. Her vision would start to fade, and only an intense focus of will allowed her to clear it again. But that would not last long. She was going to go under. She had best accept it.

But she was not going to show Styx any weakness. Though the woman was on top of her, choking her out, Odessa had obviously put her fellow title contender on her back foot. Stuffing down any choking, gargling, or hacking sounds that she might otherwise make, Odessa would give Styx a little smirk as their faces came closer together, trying to water that seed of doubt that she thought she might have buried in the other woman's brain, before closing her eyes and quickly feeling unconsciousness overtake her.

Fuck. Odessa couldn't even get knocked out the right way. She was supposed to just drift off into dream land, maybe go out with her tongue wagging and her eyes rolling into the back of her head. But no, the bitch went into unconsciousness with a smirk. She couldn't even let Styx enjoy the pure pleasure of choking someone into oblivion. What kind of shit was that?

She thought she was smart, trying to fuck with Styx's head, playing mind games. Well, she could fuck with Odessa's head, too. And her chest. And her kneecaps. And her shoulders. Having her be awake for it all would be nice, but...

Bzzt!

And there went her cell phone.

River stood up and put her foot down on Odessa's chest, keeping her pinned down just in case she had a little more life than it appeared. She reached back into her pocket and pulled out the flip phone, popped it open, and...

Styx clapped the phone shut and gave Odessa one, final obligatory stomp in the chest before she head towards the door."To be continued."
