She tries to frustrate opponents and wear them down. Suzy’s biggest weakness is her experience and her tendency to overestimate herself and underestimate her opponents.

Sunday Punch -  The Gazelle Punch

A punch she learned to make up for her short height and low power. Typically after an opponent is stunned, Suzy bends down, leaps up and hits the opponent with a right hook, basically launching it at her. The blow is fast, tends to catch opponents off guard when they think they've got her range down, and even if it doesn't bring her for down, it gets her in close, where she wants to be.

Physical Appearance: Though she's never let it slow her down, Suzy's a very small thing, quite tiny, and she's often outclassed in terms of sheer height. Carmen has her on a strict training remine, though, and she’s slimmed out considerably over the past three months, getting a nice, toned body.

Suzy is half-black, half-hispanic (her mother is from Mexico) and has light dark skin from it, a very tanned look over all. Since she started training, she’s taken to keeping her braids tied tight behind her back.

Personality: Unlike Carmen, who does talk smack occasionally but keeps it simple and never instigates, Suzy has what her father called 'diarrhea of the mouth'. She's very good at riling opponents and getting under their skin. She's not a mean or bullying sort of person by nature, but she likes to get into the theater of things a bit, and get carried away with it all.

She's confident to the point of being cocky, and while she's hardly a bad boxer, she's nowhere near being as good as she thinks she is. A lesson in humility would do her a world of good.

Past/History: If you watched Suzy grow up, you’d be hard pressed to figure out that she would one day become a legitimate boxer. She was always a boxing fan growing up - her father loved the sport and passed it on to her. And she’d often dreamt of joining, sure, but that was hardly uncommon. People dream of being football stars, people dream of being President. It’s rarely more than just a dream.

She wanted to be an artist and that’s what she spent most of her time studying for, specializing in oriental designs - she eventually gained a scholarship for a famous Japanese art school and moved there, doing well in her classes.

It was a fruitful, if uneventful experience, until Suzy learned that one of her favorite boxers, Carmen Rodriguez, was fighting in the AFW and doing private boxing lessons. Feeling this was a good opportunity, Suzy signed up for lessons on a whim, just wanting to taste the experience a bit. Carmen trained her, and the two developed a bit of a rapport - she was very green, but Carmen saw some potential in her.

Now, with the semester drawing to a close and a free summer ahead of her, Suzy’s set to make her ring debut...

Suzy typically rocks the red, white and blue - blue sports bra, red trunks, white trim.

Fun Facts:

+ Is a big movie lover, and often throws out quotes from her favorite flicks.

+ Can speak just enough Japanese to get around and barely understands the language. Not for lack of trying, though. She just can't get it down, for some reason. Speaks fluent Spanish, though.

+ Though she was born in the States, her mother is an illegal immigrant, and it’s caused numerous problems in their lives. Suzy is an outspoken advocate for immigration reform, and often travels

+Suffers from very bad nearsightedness. She can see well enough for a fight, but needs glasses to get around most of the time. Her fight money is going to laser surgery.

+ Has a weekly webcomic called Jump!, focused on the adventures of a group of friends who find themselves leaping through dimensions and winding up in different manga and anime. Kind of like Sliders meets anime, both of which she’s a fan of.
