My Funny Valentine

Johnny raised an eyebrow when she held the card up to her lips. On one hand, it wasn't like they'd be kissing if he did it and he really wanted to see the trick. Could she REALLY change it into his card?

"Uhhh..." Johnny looked around. There were people shuffling around but it wasn't that busy. Johnny then furrowed his brow. "Ok, dude." he said. "I'll do it, but if you're up to somethin." He said with a scolding tone.

Johnny leaned in and pushed his lips against the card. He was pretty aloof when it came to girls, but even Johnny was a bit suspicious of this, as clever as it was. But if she could turn the card into his card? That'd be pretty awesome!

Jamie was frozen in place and quivering while she waited. When the feeling of Johnny's lips came, separated from her by the card, she almost imperceptibly gasped. She was glad for the card.

"Ta-daaaa..." She said quietly and flipped the card around. As promised, it was the king of hearts.

She stared at him for a moment like a rodent about to bolt. She wanted to say something to him that would make him like her and want to hang out with her. She had no idea what that would have been (what did people even like?) but it didn't matter. She bolted.

Off she went, skishing along on her rollerblades and gliding easily between people on the sidewalk. She obviously knew the city; she moved with direction and purpose like she knew exactly where she was going, even when negotiating back alleys and side streets. Then she was out of sight.

Johnny's eyes widened when Jamie flashed the King of Hearts. "Woah..." Was all he could manage. She really was pretty awesome. Johnny grinned and scratched the back of his head, looking at Jamie. "You're pretty awesome, dude!" He said genuinely.

He was going to ask her how she did it, but the blonde skater was off in the blink of an eye. "Huh..." He said and watched her meld into the crowd. He gave a shrug. "What a cool chick." He muttered and turned around. He was going to check to see if everything was cool at the cafe, even though he had paid. He'd never really gotten to drink anything and he was feeling pretty thirsty for some reason.

He shrugged it off. He was pretty lucky to always be meeting such awesome people. Too bad he never got that one chick's name. Oh well, there was only one person he really cared about.

Johnny pulled out his phone as he walked and thumbed out a quick text.
