Yvette hated that knockdown. It wasn't even a proper knockdown, it was Lorenza getting lucky. Yvette was determined to make sure that the bitch didn't get lucky again. Clambering back onto her feet, Yvette sprung into action right away, not caring what Lorenza had planned for her, she planned on winning this round, no matter how many punches it took her. Raising her guard Lorenza quickly came in and threw a punch. Yvette kept her guard tight and let the gloved fist hammer into her guard, but it didn't do much else. Her guard held and Now it was Yvettes turn. With her legs spread wide Yvette ducked down, weaving right, before throwing a right uppercut at her ribs.

Now it was time to show Lorenza just how much more energy she had in her tanks. Weaving quickly and ducking down low, she weaved her body to the alternate side, hopefully past any guard Lorenza had at this point. She would fire off a left uppercut this time before bringing her body back upright and firing off a two jab, left-right combo at her face. Yvette was not so concerned about the power of these four punches, it was the speed she was after, trying to get Lorenza all messed up and knock her off her prime, hopefully allowing her to win the round that way.

Yvette had been knocked down, even if it was one that the young blonde should never have allowed to happen. Lorenza had, early on in her training, made rookie mistakes like that, letting her opponents get in lucky shots that floored her. But by her professional debut, she had ironed out those kinks. Now, nearly half her life separating then from now, boxing had become first nature for Lorenza. She was better at fighting than she was at eating or breathing. And maybe Yvette would become like Lorenza someday. Until then, she had to rely on scrappiness and pluck.

Scrappiness and pluck didn't often knock a woman out.

Lorenza's punch was sopped up by her foe's guard, and Yvette then ducked low and came back at her. Lorenza pulled her gloves back into her guard, ready to weather her much younger opponent's attack. The first punch, though, came in around that guard, as Yvette swung in from far to the side. Lorenza's head was smacked to the side, and she would duck behind her gloves as they absorbed those ferocious jabs that her young opponent shot at her next.

"Ugh," Lorenza grunted, as she wiggled her jaw a little in the aftermath of that uppercut, quickly finding her balance again. She had to strike back. She immediately brought her glove up and threw a quick right jab at Yvette's face, trying to slow her down, following it up with a left jab and then a hard right hook!

Yvette was going to win this, In her mind she was going to win. Her body on the other hand was a different story. Her face was pretty much red now, not from blood, strangely despite the onslaught bloodshed had been kept to a minimum but the exhaustion and sweat on her face had caused her skin colour to deepen to a dark red. That was just the base of it all though. Several parts of her face we now starting to swell, her left eye was almost black; along with several other areas on her face. Lorenza had done a number on her, and this story of swelling and black bruises continued to be told on her body. Whatever the result, Yvette was going to feel this in the morning, and the morning after, and most likely all the way to end of the week. Her attempts to pressure Lorenza to get knocked out were going as well as she coudl have hoped given the experience gap. She was landing hits, not all of them, but enough to hurt her. She was beginning to wonder whether or not it would be enough wear her down to score a round victory.

Just over half of the the round time had elapsed, and if this kept up the way it was, Yvette would lose another round, After round 5 there was always the risk of losing by default. If Lorenza could secure 6 round wins, there was no point in Yvette carrying on. Her only option then would be to knock Lorenza out before it was too late. Yvette was too focused currently on the attack, and while her own attack to Lorenza was somewhat successful, Lorenza had a track record in this match with extremely successful on her counter attacks. And again, Lorenza didn't disappoint. Her right jab came in and smacked into her face, her cheek to be more precise and hammered her skin some more.

This punch felt different though, the second it hit something felt off, her cheek stung more than normal and felt warmer. The second the punch moved off her, she felt it. Liquid. Warm liquid. The punch had came in at such a angle, and with her already stretched and swollen skin the impact was enough to open a cut on her cheek. It wasn't small either. Roughly a whole centimetre across and decorating her upper left cheek, Yvette could feel the crimson liquid rush o the surface and slowly but surely start to collect in a pool large enough to send a single drop running down the side of her face. It wouldn't get there though. Lorenza had coiled back and had now fired a alternate jab to the other side of her face. The impact was enough to cause Yvette to cry in pain as she tried to raise her guard to stop any future punches. The one drop of blood had now rushed to the back of her face from the impact.

Her guard wouldn't be able to get up in time, as Lorenza had already followed the successful jab with a incoming hook, planting itself into the left cheek of Yvette, her face snapping to the side as another shriek of pain and agony escaped from the young boxers lips. The blood drop on her face had now jumped up into the air and more blood from that cut had now rushed to the surface, already getting ready to flow over. Not to mention the right hook also moved Yvette's face so that Lorenza could properly observe her handiwork. Staggering back from the hits, Yvette raised her guard and took two steps back to give herself some time to get her defence up. When the blood came out it generally meant that time in the match was limited. So Yvette knew it was no or never. She just needed to recover herself and go for it. But she also knew equally as much, that Lorenza was not going to give her that chance at all.

Lorenza could tell that the beating she was giving Yvette was starting to take its toll based on the state of the woman's face, as her skin was getting redder and redder and her eyes and cheeks began to puff up. It was not unusual for such injuries to be sustained during a boxing match, of course, and Lorenza's face, too, was red and swelling, her field of vision narrowing somewhat as the swelling around her eyes began to force them into more of a squint than she would have preferred. Few women had ever managed to do this sort of damage to Lorenza, and Yvette should have been proud—of course, no one could really be proud when they were suffering the sort of traumatic attacks that Yvette was. She was doing damage, but not nearly as much as Lorenza was.

And Lorenza would make that abundantly clear even to the audience members high up in the cheap seats as her next jab turned out to be the blow which caused the dam to burst. A small but noticeable cut opened up in Yvette's cheek, and the blonde cutie's face was suddenly marred by a patch of brilliant crimson red blood. The feeling of the liquid spilling from her face seemed to surprise Yvette, causing her to freeze up and giving Lorenza two more easy punches that snapped that head back and forth. The final hook of the combination gave Lorenza a good look at the damage done. It was a small patch of blood, the spillage from the cut no more than a trickle, but it would be a painful, visible reminder to Yvette of just how hard she was going to be hit every single time she stepped out of her corner.

Hopefully, she would only be stepping out of her corner one more time. Time was beginning to run down in this fourth round, so Lorenza doubted that she could get the knockout now. It would probably have to wait for the sixth.

But, as Yvette went full defensive, Lorenza would be damned if she didn't try to knock the girl out.

She went in, and she started simply, a quick, lightning-fast one-two pair of jabs aimed at Yvette's face, trying to see if she could be pushed back further, or hurt more, or whether she had rallied enough to adequately defend herself.

The warm feeling in her cheek wasn't subsiding. That cut was going to keep bleeding, and that was going to cause problems. She would have to make sure that Lorenza didn't hit her again there otherwise that cut was going to get critical and the blood bath would start. Yvette knew that this match was only going to end in a bloodbath. Both women were too headstrong and both wanted the other bitch knocked out. Neither of them were going to stop at all. Stepping back and raising her guard, she just had to survive for the rest of this round, and then hope she can get a good start off in the 6th. If she could knock Lorenza down it should do wonders for her confidence.

As Yvette though, Souko wasn't going to give her anytime to recover at all, and the second she took steps backwards, Lorenza was already on her. Thankfully, Yvette had managed to get her guard back up rather rapidly. The two punches rocked her guard, causing Yvette to grunt heavily as the two fists pounded into her forearms, that were now showing signs of serious bruising from absorbing numerous punches from Lorenza. The punches were so powerful they nearly caused Yvette to fall over again. But thankfully she didn't, she simply took another step back and conceded that she was going to more than likely going to end up in the ropes by the end of the round. Yvette was having serious thoughts about whether or not it was worth, putting her had over the parapets and launching her own attack. On instinct and less than a second, Yvette decided to attack, launching her left fist forward with a jab to the former champions face. Right after the punch, Yvette withdrew her hand rapidly back into her guard. She wasn't going to give the Lorenza the satisfaction. But just as she got ready to attempt the second at punching the bell rang, signalling the end of the round. Yvette lowered her guard, a larger drop of crimson liquid now making its way down her cheek, dripping off her jawline and onto the canvas. Yvette would glare at Lorenza, now mocking, no words or shouting. She would pound her gloves together in frustration before retreating into her corner. Sitting down her supplied team got to work, trying their best to convince the cut to close up or stop bleeding, but the swelling had pushed the blood to the surface so it was near impossible to stop. It would just have to be left to drip lightly and hope that Lorenza didn't land a hit there again. The referee came over and asked if Yvette wanted to continue the match. Lorenza wouldn't know what Yvette said, but some swear words were used to say the least. The ref would fall back, giving Yvette time to recover.

Lorenza noticed just how much Yvette's cheek was bleeding already, and she knew that it had to be hurting her blonde foe. As this fourth round came to a close and the fifth round began, Lorenza would try to target it, doing what she could to exacerbate the pain and distract Yvette from the match at hand. If Yvette would start to slow down, that would be a welcome respite, as Lorenza had already, through four rounds, been pushed more than she had expected to be today.

Lorenza, as she began to head in to attack Yvette again, spared a glance up at the clock. Hardly ten seconds remained in this round. So she wouldn't have any chance of knocking Yvette out now. That would have to wait for the fifth round...or even later.

She threw a pair of quick, exploratory jabs at Yvette, her glove heading in the general direction of that wounded cheek, knowing that it would be cleaned up and a less tantalizing target in the next round. But neither punch hit. The blonde American managed to get her gloves up, and, though the rocket-like punches that the former world champion threw tanned the hide of her forearms, they did no appreciable damage that would help Lorenza as the fight went on. The same could not be said, however, of Yvette's last-second punch, as the sudden burst of offense surprised Lorenza and the glove popped her right in the nose, sending a burst of warmth through her face as she took as step back. She wiggled her nose, checking to see if it was bleeding, which, somehow, it wasn't—not yet. She put her gloves up to keep fighting, but the bell rang.

Lorenza growled, keeping her eyes on Yvette for a second, having a bit of trouble keeping one open due to the swelling around it. She stared her blonde foe down for a second, then turned, whipping her shoulder around and walking back to her corner to get cleaned up. The fifth round was going to be a bloodbath—and Lorenza got the feeling that she wasn't the only one who was going to be dealing damage.

It was clear to see from the way that Yvette was acting that she was very annoyed with herself. She had sworn she was going to draw first blood in this match and had failed to do so. Not only that, but the punch to the nose was not enough draw blood from Lorenza, did she even have blood? It wouldn't surprise Yvette if Lorenza survived off tortured souls of the woman she had defeated. Instead Lorenza had survived and instead Yvette was bleeding. The cut was quite bad upon further inspection. While the bleeding had been curtailed it was most certainly going to bleed again in the next thirty seconds. Yvette knew that during this round it was do or die. Yvette had managed to only really secure a single, narrow round victory. If Lorenza was able to win this one it didn't matter what happened unless Yvette knocked Lorenza out, and considering how hard she was finding it to make the former champion bleed, she didn't fancy her chances.

Still the time for resting was now over, The ref was busy calling the two back up from off their corner stools. Yvette, bouncing as she got to the centre would simply stare at Lorenza. Blood had already began rising to the surface of the cut again, getting close to that dangerous mass of crimson liquid that would cause a drop to release. She knew how important it was to protect that cut. If she took another hit like that to it it could rip open and with that the whole match might get called off. Sure Lorenza would in, but by the way they were venting at one another, it seemed like Lorenza was only going to content with the knockout victory. Well Yvette would do whatever she could to deny her of that pleasure. The bell would ring, and signal the beginning of the 5th round. Yvette wouldn't even both with her guard, trying to catch the former champion off guard by throwing a rapid and somewhat powerful uppercut to the jaw, hoping to beat Lorenza to it before she put her guard up. If it worked, Yvette would go for the face again, throwing a combination of left then right jabs to her cheeks.

Lorenza was lucky, in a way—her nose had been bloodied so many times over her long wrestling career that it just would not give up blood that easily anymore. Yvette, as early on in her career as she was, hadn't had that constant rhythm of of bloody nose after bloody nose, sometimes coming even in simple sparring sessions, that ultimately plugged up the blood vessels inside the nostrils and made them more difficult to break open. The way she looked at Lorenza's nose after that jab, she was clearly expecting blood. And Lorenza, on some level, was too. If she were at the same stage in her career as Yvette, her nose would be gushing right now, and her chin and chest would be soaked in that crimson life-giving liquid.

Thankfully for Lorenza, her old age allowed her to play it cool, acting as if that punch had hurt a lot less than it did. Her nose felt funny, and probably would continue to feel funny, but she would ignore it, and hope that the schnoz wasn't messed up in any way that would be visible to her opponent.

Lorenza sat down on the stool in her corner, and just took a moment to breathe deeply as she was worked upon like a race car in the pits. Her nose was checked. Her bruises were taken care of. She had a little water splashed in her face and wetted her mouth, enough to keep her going. And then, all too soon, the referee was calling for them at the center of the ring. And so, Lorenza would go. She had a decisive edge. She had the lead. She was better than Yvette.

Round five.

The bell rang, and Yvette, showing some desperation, came out swinging, and hard. Lorenza saw the uppercut coming and brought her gloves together to make that little problem go away. Though the uppercut didn't hit, Yvette immediately began to rain jabs down upon Lorenza, and Lorenza could not afford to try to pop Yvette in the middle of such an assault. She could end up getting herself knocked out by the sheer volume of punches. So Lorenza put her guard up and weathered the storm, the occasional jab coming through and tagging her swollen cheeks, eliciting a groan as she watched Yvette for an opening!

The round break was nowhere near long enough for Yvette. She could of easily have done with at least another few minutes to have the cut on her cheek attended to. Her face still felt on fire, despite her corner crews attempts at trying relieve her pain. Soon enough however the ref had called them over to start the pivotal 5th round. If Yvette didn't win this one, there was no hope of winning at all. So Yvette needed to come out strong.

And strong she did do. She came out like a raging bull, smashing into Lorenza and while her original uppercut was absorbed, her flurry, or more barrage of jabs seemed to meet some success. Lorenza was quick off the mark and manged to raise her guard in order to block the incoming jabs. Despite her guard, several punches were making their way through and hammering Lorenza in the face. While it wasn't enough to knock her out, it was more than enough to keep her on the defensive and prevent Lorenza from getting the upperhand. If Yvette could keep this up for the entire round then she would finally swing things around in her favour. She knew she couldn't keep this up however, she was starting to slow down. She knew that if she didn't back off soon, Lorenza would soon score a hit and eventually the tables would turn around.

Yvette decided to back away, keeping her guard up and body hunched, profile low, exposure low. She was trying to make herself a small target as she took a couple of steps back to give her arms some moments to rest. She knew that Lorenza was going to come after her the second she stopped throwing punches, so she had to make every second of her recovery count before Lorenza bogged her back down and knocked her out. The crowd had noticed the new fire in Yvette and seemed supportive of the new fire she had. At least this half of the fight was going to explosive by the way it had started.

Despite all of the punishment she had taken, the knockdowns, the open wounds, Yvette was not only still fighting, but she was fighting like a goddamn maniac. It was hard to account for a death wish in a competitor, and if Yvette had the energy to keep up an assault like this, Lorenza might actually be in trouble. Oh, she wouldn't lose the match. But the both of them killing each other wasn't out of the question. The damage would pile up fast, and neither of them would be able to take it if Yvette wanted to push the pace like this.

The barrage lasted a while. Yvette kept peppering Lorenza's guard with punches, and Lorenza had no choice but to remain turtled up, blocking most of them, feeling the stinging pain of those few that made it through as the leather slapped across her reddened cheeks. But, gradually, Yvette slowed down. Clearly, she was running out of energy, and soon would not be able to keep up the assault. Realizing that, Yvette leapt back, putting up her own guard in preparation for the attack she was sure was coming.

And, oh, it was coming.

Once she was no longer being punched, Lorenza would throw herself forward onto the offensive. Now it was her turn to be the raging bull, and Yvette's turn to be the turtle, as Lorenza did a damn fine Yvette impression, launching jab after jab at her, trying to keep her behind that guard and keep her from fighting back, while possibly getting in a few good blows to her cheeks at the same time.
