Jean visits Yatori in hospital.

Jean walked down the hallways of the hospital. Thanks to the staff. She got the directions to Yatori's room. After finding it she walked inside and found Yatori on the bed. Jean held a bouquet of roses in her arms and sighed sadly. Of course, she hadn't seen yatori since their bitter atg match involding Lizzie and Mia.

She started to head to the chair near Yatori's bed.

Awake since yesterday, Yatori had been napping following a tastelessly healthy lunch. Jean's entry woke her up. She blinked, frowned and then stared at her visitor. She was sure Damian was somewhere nearby, hidden, so she didn't feel endangered by having one of the people she hated the most near her. Besides, the flowers served as a white flag that also fired up her curiosity.

"Well," she said to Jean in a politely neutral tone, "Fancy seeing you here. Come to visit me?"

Jean closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Yes. I was actually worried about you, but I suppose you think that is a lie."

She then opened her eyes to regard Yatori.

Yatori held her gaze levelly. "I see... Thank you. I appreciate it." She said it without rancor; she believed it enough, now that she had time to cool off and think it over.

She glanced at the flowers in Jean's hands. "You didn't have to go buy roses, you know. They're expensive. Any flower would do so long as it's not white."

"What's wrong with white roses...or lilies?"

Jean had thought of buying a mix but roses were fine. And she felt Yatori was worth the extra price. She blinked at Yatori, as if struggling with some emotion and realized it was heartbreak.

"Well, you see, white is the color of death in Japan. You only give white flowers to someone who is dead." Yatori chuckled. "Then again, I'm only half-Japanese... still, I'm very happy you visited and gave me flowers, so thank you very much."

She wasn't dense or blind. In fact it was like the coma had given her time to review her life. She gazed upon Jean's face and asked:

"You're troubled, aren't you? Would you like to talk about it?"

"Well..." sighs and wipes at her nose. "You did help me get into this business. I know you wnated a chance to settle things and I was afraid after what happened to you that it might not come to past. I am....sorry about what happened between us. The moment you get out of the hospital and get better,...we can have any match you want if you feel it might help settle things between us."

She looked at Yatori now.

Yatori nodded solemnly. Then she smiled gently. "I'm glad you think so highly of me even after our mess. I'm sorry for that, too. I'm very protective of Mia. I lost my temper when she got hurt, when it was sort of my fault, too, for not picking clearly.

"To be honest, I might take a while to wrestle seriously again." She closed her eyes. "I worried everyone with my latest injury. I've forgotten a few things, too. It's really shaken me up. So Damian-kun got me to promise to stay off serious matches for a while. And I agreed."

She looked into Jean's eyes with a wry smile. "Gomen, Jean-san, I may take a while to take your offer up... if I could ever come back at all..."

Jean nodded then she sighed and suddenly looked seriously.

"Yatori, if you ever want to get better you got to overcome that Achilles heel you have against strikes. As you just pointed out it nearly ended your career and no offense to her...Masane isn't exactly one of the most dangerous people in our fed. I do want to face you again...but I rather not feel like I have to hold back out of concern for seriously hurting you. If you don't mind...I would like to help you overcome that concern of yours."

She came to sat a little closer.

"Thanks, Jean." Yatori looked and sounded appreciative of the helpful offer. Then she became morose. "But... I think this is part of me now. I feel like if I lose this... then I won't be myself. I wouldn't have been me if it weren't for this. Weird as it may sound, I'm actually wanting it to stay now."

She smiled. "Besides, the docs say my condition isn't life-threatening. They say it's psychological, not biochemical or physical. It's really pesky trauma from the first match I lost when I got dropped on my head, or so Damian tells me because I can't remember a thing about it and there are no tapes of it. So you don't have to hold back," she chuckled.
