Re: About the difference in tone between Friction and Tension, or the lack thereof
Howdy there! I'm the new guy and uh...
>the previous GM was basically a dictator-like alpha bitch who played wrestlers like puppets, there was a sort of heel faction vs face faction war that dominated most of Tension for like, a year, and then a character literally set the damn ring on fire.
>then a character set the damn ring on fire
Also I sorta figured out Tension as more light-hearted than Friction due to all the male jobbers... but Yeah I guess I'd agree with Berial's argument...
But here's the thing... you do what you want...
In the end this whole discussion over group tone doesn't really matter (well in my eyes at least) since it all depends on what the player wants I guess, if someone wants a light-hearted goofball story in Tension or a darker more dramatic Friction tale or vice-versa, it all depends on what you want to write, if you want to do honestly the site's your oyster friends!

Re: About the difference in tone between Friction and Tension, or the lack thereof
Yeah, looking back at this thread a year later, I still don't fully understand what it was about.
There is no tone difference between the two leagues. Both leagues have had lighter stories and darker ones over the years, and its entirely up to the players involved to go in whatever direction they choose with it. Nobody higher up "chooses" the stories, and there is no effort to make one side "darker" or "lighter" than the other.
Diesel has the right idea.
