***

Everything felt the same as usual. Valley was in the back, preparing for another match, as the crew busied themselves around her and got everything good to go. She could hear the din of the crowd outside, getting hyped, cheering, rushing back to their seats as before the entrances could start. There was this raw energy in the air, this magnetism, this power that seemed to seep into your body as you bounced in the back, knowing that, in just a moment, you’d be competing on the world stage. Nothing quite like it, in any other sport.

The only difference was that this was Tension. Not Friction.

The switch wasn’t official yet, just had to finish up the proper dictation and get a few odd things in order, with the official switch coming in the new year. For now, she was just doing the occasional guest match, filling out the undercard out, getting used to the swing of things. But it was still surreal to think that she was in a new brand now. Her mind was still stuck in Friction mode, expecting things to be where they were, having trouble figuring out where things were in the building, an embarrassing incident with the men’s locker room.

But there were hardly better ways to get used to things than a wrestling match, finding her footing with what she loved best. So, when her music played and her lights came out, she burst through the ring with smiles and waves, eager to go and take on…

Edward Sealgair? The name sounded vaguely familiar, but she couldn’t put a face to it. Maybe someone on the independent scene, trying to strike it big in Tension. He’d had a few matches in the brand, but she wouldn’t lie, her time had been scant this week, and she missed out on the chance to scout him out.

Oh, well, getting surprised was a good thing, every now and then. Forced her to stay fluid, never make it easy on them.

"Ohmygod,ohmygod,ohmygod,EEEEEEEEEE!"

Backstage, young Edward Sealgair was excite. VERY excite. For starters, after three hentai matches in a row, he was finally getting a regular match up, somewhere he could shine. The teens early showings so far in AFW had...not been great. Sure, he one his debut, but basically got lucky. His next few matches had all been defeats, overwhelmingly one sided defeats in the case of his hentai matches, and his one other non hentai bout, a swimsuit match at the beach, while fun...had still not only been a loss, but all the highlights shown of it were ones where he looked bad and was embarrassed.

But this match, this was different. This was against Valley Doll. One of the very first matches he ever saw in AFW was a Valley Doll match, and if he wasn't already entranced by high flyers of wrestling, he was after seeing her float and fly above the ring. The veteran woman had instantly become a favorite of his, and he kept track of her matches, and she had served as an inspiration to the teen as he started his own path to becoming a pro wrestler.

Now here he was in Tension, no longer looking at a poster on the wall, but actually about to lock up with the woman herself!

He was so excite!

He finished taping his hands, pulled up his tights, adjusted his boots and slipped his jacket on right as he heard his theme start to play, and made his way out into the arena.

Once the flute and drums kicked in, he came out, getting a polite, if not entirely enthusiastic, response from the crowd. Probably the bigger reason for the polite reaction was his choice of ring gear. While still his standard set, once he had heard he was booked against Valley Doll, he had made an order for a rush job with the AFW seamstress, to get special white and pink gear, colors that were synonymous with Valley Doll herself, as a little tribute of sorts.

Ed's ring gear:

He made his way down the ramp, slapping a few hands along the way, not dancing like the veteran had, but still bobbing, weaving, and bouncing to the beat and rhythm of his theme, before sliding under the ropes and entering the ring, hopping onto the ropes for his now standard pose of lazily laying across the turnbuckle ropes, hand resting on his cheek, for a second or two, before he rolled off backwards, landing on his booted feet.

From there, he made his way to the center of the ring, emerald green eyes shining with excitement as he looked over Valley Doll, shivers going through him as it sunk in that he was standing across the ring from her, the eager rookie against the famous veteran. With a cough, he gave a polite bow, offering his hand out. "I-it's a pleasure to actually meet you, M-Miss Doll." The celtic warrior said somewhat shakily. He winced, taking a deep breath before continuing, trying to sound more confident this time.

"Aye, the names Edward Sealgair, I've been a fan of yours for a long time. Gotta say, sharing a ring with you, it's pretty exciting!" There, that was better. "I uh, dunno if ye've seen any of my matches yet, but believe me, I've got a lot to show that nobody's seen yet!"

...and considering the entire crowd had seen him naked and cumming in defeat a couple times already, that statement meant more than Valley probably knew.

Now, this was a surprise. That was the great thing about this sport - just when Valley thought there was nothing left that could take her off guard, along came something like this to prove her completely wrong.

She’d just been sitting back in her corner, doing a few stretches, getting nice and limber. She wasn’t sure what to expect from Edward, but she wanted to be ready when he came, leave herself open to taking on a wide variety of threats. She figured the best way to kick things off would be to start fast, suss out where his weaknesses were. She typically enjoyed a speed advantage if she had nothing else, so that was solid ground to build a foundation on.

But those thoughts left he entirely when she saw the guy come out. Oh, on the surface, he didn’t look like too much. He was handsome, young, well built, cute. All good attributes, but not exactly rare on the Tension roster. Thing was, though, that he was a handsome, young, well built, cute guy wearing her colors, and as he made his way to the ring, she got a distinct Kaylee Rush vibe going on.

She had a fanboy on her hands. Huh.

She kept her position, watching him introduce himself as she leaned in the corner, curiosity dominating her features. It was flattering, really, and she doubted Ed even knew how much, to know she still had this sort of effect on a younger man. She was on the closer side to forty, probably old enough to be this man’s mother, and he was still going ga ga for her.

Then again, maybe she was being presumptuous. Maybe it was just a platonic thing. Maybe he was just a fan of her work. No need to take it there.

Smiling, she sauntered out of the corner and shook his hand, nodding his way. ”I don’t know, Ed. I’ve seen a lot of things.” She gave him a playful poke in the chest. ”Let’s see if you can surprise me, okay?”

She gave him a wink, stepped back, and started bouncing on her heels as the referee came between them and got ready to kick things off.

Edward stood awkwardly for a moment with his hand out, trying not to look weird or anything. He had to remember, he wasn't just a fanboy, he wasn't meeting for an overpriced autograph at a meet and greet, he was Valley's peer here, an equal, and he had to avoid any ridiculous fanboy tendencies...

...like staring at the woman's legs as she walked towards him, the sight of her toned, slim, and cream colored limbs shaking him mentally, and bringing to mind a certain AC/DC lyric he now had more appreciation for. "American Thighs" indeed...

The feel of a firm hand shaking his snapped him back to attention, and if the wide eyed gaze at her legs didn't make him look foolish, no doubt the blush that would bloom on his face, and the brief stammering before she backed away. He would do so himself, stripping off his pink jacket and put it on the turnbuckle, starting to stretch his arms, legs, and body, taking a little solace in some of the whistles he got from a few women in the audience.

"Surprise her" she said...he could do that...how the hell was he going to do that.

He didn't get much time to find out, as the bell would soon ring, and he would step out, arms raised, and try to clear his head. He just needed to stay cool, let his instincts guide him. He could do this. He could totally do this.

Right?

Valley was trying hard not to giggle at Edward, doing her best to hold it back. He was cute. Too cute, really. The exact sort of boy she’d gone for back in high school and probably dated way too many of. Good body, nice hair, great taste in music, and clearly respecting a lot more than just her wrestling record. It was all too easy to tease him and tap into a little of that magic from her younger years.

But she abstained. The man wanted to be taken seriously, and the last thing she should do is spoil what was likely a big moment for him. Besides, she didn’t want to start a reputation in Tension as some kind of maneater, the place already had way too many of those.

He wanted a serious match. He’d get a serious match.

...mostly serious, anyway. 96%.

The bell rang and he came her way with raising arms, looking to tie things up in the traditional way. She indulged him, moving to meet him. Arms up. Inching closer. Closer. Closer, still.

She lunged forward the moment they were in range, but instead of locking horns with him, she ducked down and swung her leg out low, trying to cut his ankles with a sharp leg sweep. Just a little test, trying to see how tight his reflexes were.

Cmon Ed, you can do this, you can do this, stop looking at her legs damnit!

The bell rang and he came, hand up, looking for the traditional lock, a rush of nerves, hormones, and excitement running through him. He paused, briefly, in his approach, while still out of range, and took a deep breath, letting his rigid body relax for a moment before he re-focused. He could do this. Just let his instinct pull him through, don't get distracted.

He stepped closer, paying attention, focusing less on Valley's body, incredible as it was, and more on her body movement. She was an experienced veteran, she had done lock ups hundreds, if not thousands, of times, he doubted he could out lock her in a...wait, why did her leg change positions like that?

That brief moment was all the warning he got, before she made her lunge, her leg sweeping out at him. Had he been focusing on her body like before, he'd have been caught. Ryo, for certain, would have been caught.

Edward jumped. Just enough, his feet leaving the mat just as Valley's incredible leg swept underneath him, just missing knocking him over on his butt. As soon as he landed, he threw a short kick, toward Valley's open back, just enough to tag her before hopping back a bit, making a bit of space between the two. "Nearly caught me there!" He exclaimed, a bit relieved he didn't get tripped up so early.

Okay, the leg sweep would take him down. Once he was on his back, what should she go for? Moonsault, maybe. She’d be in the right position for it, and the quick transition would likely take him off guard. She could go for a pinfall, not that it would work, but it would be a good way to keep him guessing, start messing with him a little, and-

Oh. He dodged it. Nevermind, then. Hm.

Edward’s nimbleness surprised Valley, as did the kick that came right after. It wasn’t much of a blow, but it made her yelp in surprise, stumbling forward as she stood. When she turned around, however, she was smiling. ”Okay. Good reflexes.” She dusted off her back and turned about in full. ”But how good?”

Valley moved in again, some position as last time, same movements, same everything, challenging Edward to do the same. She inched in, closer still, nearing him, just a little bit, bit by bit...until she she swung her leg out with another leg sweep.

...or started, too, anyway. This time she pulled it back halfway, and raised her other leg a half-second later, coming at Edward from the other direction  with a roundhouse kick aimed at his face.

'Radical' Edward Sealgair vs. Valley Doll - Thunderstruck Empty Re: 'Radical' Edward Sealgair vs. Valley Doll - Thunderstruck

Post by Old_Man_Tai Mon Nov 11, 2019 8:38 pm

Whew. Close one.

He'd have to keep a closer eye on the woman for any more tricks like that...as if he didn't have enough reason to gaze at her. Still, she seemed to approve, even smiled at him, the boy blushing and giving an awkward smile back, enjoying the small praise as he got back into position.

When Valley moved in, he did as well, sharp emerald eyes keeping a close eye on her movements. The woman was a true pro, a veteran, a damn legend. She knew every trick in the book, and she was known for testing her opponents in matches, something he had seen on the television many times before. He had zero doubt that she was going to test him again, every instinct screamed at him to beware of something.

It paid off in his favor, as when she came at him with the same movement, same motion, even swinging the same leg, he took notice, and was already starting to take a half step back, when the other shoe dropped, his suspicion proven correct as she faked him out, her other leg blitzing towards him. With a yelp, he just managed to duck, throwing his head down, his braided ponytail flying upwards from the force, her foot batting his hair, the only part of him she managed to hit.

A high sense of relief, exhilaration, and adrenaline filled him as her leg sailed over him, his crouched position giving him a surprisingly great shot of her butt as her body turned. Filled with confidence, this time he wouldn't just kick and run away, this time...he'd go on the offensive.

Once she completed her turn, he grabbed her shoulders, gripping tightly before jumping up him, his legs wrapping around her head and shoulders, sitting against the back of her head, taking a second to get his balance.

"Caught you! That's advantage Edward!"

He exclaimed, before throwing his body backwards, crossing his legs and pulling at Valley's body as he flipped back, trying to flip the former Slamazon down headfirst onto the mat with a Poisoned Hurricanrana!

'Radical' Edward Sealgair vs. Valley Doll - Thunderstruck Empty Re: 'Radical' Edward Sealgair vs. Valley Doll - Thunderstruck

Post by acuyra Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:55 pm

Valley made a mental note to better check out Edward’s career when they were done, here, already getting quite impressed with the young man. The match was just kicking off, but she was already starting to get a feel for his game. Fast. Very fast. Maybe even a little faster than her, especially now, as age began to sneak up behind her. Good reflexes. A man who could keep up with the pace she was trying to set.

What’s more, he was a fan of hers, and she got the impression he was a quick study. Which meant he knew what she could do. Which meant he had her scouted. Which meant he understood her limits better than she understood his.

It all made for an interesting little combination that she was keen to see play out. This was the test, her leg came in quick and swift, destined to hit his face, and…

...missed. Wow. Not bad.

She spun about, carried by the force of her own kick, and she knew she was in trouble - the only question was what he would choose to punish her with. She received the answer to that question soon enough, too, as he leaped up and wrapped her neck up with his legs, jerking back and trying to sending him flying with a reverse hurricanrana. Good move, well executed, great technique. She almost hated to ruin it.

Instead of resisting, Valley threw herself back, aiding to his move and giving it some extra power. Enough that, when he let her go, she didn’t come down on her head or chest. Instead she had enough momentum to land square on her feet. Perfect landing.

And she didn’t stop there, either. The second she touched down, she spun about in a full circle, building up force, rotating fast, so when Edward turned around he’d have a nice surprise waiting for him: a hurricane kick, right to the face.

For a brief moment, Edward felt very proud of himself. His fandom and love of watching and analyzing tape had served him well.

It had been rare, so far in his career, that he'd been able to show off that intelligence, cleverness and speed, flipping backwards onto his stomach and hopping up to his feet with a smirk.

His mistaken elation was short lived however, as he turned around to see his handiwork...only to see a blur and a familiar boot heading straight for him.

...and this time, he wasn't nearly quick enough.

With a loud "CRACK" of boot meeting face, the blonde boy let out a cry and dropped to the mat, wrapped hands pressing against the side of his head, whilst kicking his booted feet against the mat.

As he rolled on the mat in pain, he caught a glimpse of the titan tron, seeing the womans impressive backflip counter to his Poisoned Rana attack.

"Son of a...how did you do that!?" He yelled, though he immediately knew the answer.

She was Valley Doll. That's how.
