Showdown '19: White Gale (C) vs Akamatsu Siblings: Tension Tag Team Title Match

She was down, but not out, even if it didn't look that way. Daisuke wasn't feeling too great, but was still able to rotate to start the process of regaining vertical basis. She only got to her side however when Kyo dropped the leg, nailing her in the ribs, stopping her dead in her tracks. Almost no effort on Kyo's part was needed to put her back on her back and go for the pin.

Just like the last time he went for it, Daisuke got a shoulder up again, though this time it was half a count a way from being over. Her facial expression not only showed the physical pain she was enduring, but the mental kind as well. While he couldn't see it clearly, Sion saw enough of her face after breaking out of the pin. All he could do from where he was was call out to her and say "Come on, Dia, I know you can do it!"

For the second time in a row, Kyo dropped down and covered Daisuke for a pinfall. For the second time in a row, the Canadian woman twisted under him, barely managing to get a shoulder up before the countdown could reach three. Kneeling upright, wiped some of the perspiration from his forehead, trying not to show his irritation. Daisuke was continuing to impress him with her stamina and resilience, just as she had in the last match, and as much as he really wanted to defeat her and settle the score between them, he also had to admit to an incredible amount of respect for her.

Which was why, of course, he was not going to hold back against her.

He grabbed her by the arm and pulled her shakily up to her feet, wanting to finish her quickly before she had time to recover. Spinning around, Kyo whipped Daisuke towards the ropes, and caming running at her the moment she bounced back, aiming to leap forward and nail her with a hard clothesline to keep her stunned, in preparation for a follow up move that might get the win...

While Sion was doing what he could to keep Daisuke in there, Lina was was starting to become lost for words. Sion became the same for a moment, though his facial expression spoke for itself as his eyes went wide as Daisuke made almost a full rotation after Kyo struck with the clothesline, with an almost a rough looking landing.

A few seconds after Daisuke landed, Lina did find something to say, though it just came to her with no thought and only pure emotion. "Get up you son of a bitch!"

The clothesline struck true, nailing Daisuke just above her chest and sending her spinning almost a full one-eighty, sending her crashing down to the mat like a lot of dead weight. At this, Lina started shouting frantically from Dai's corner, and Sion had a look of tightly-wrought concern. Kyo sympathized: it must not have been easy for the man to see his wife being brutalized in the ring and being unable to help her.

It wasn't just Sion and Lina who were concerned. Around them, WhiteGale's fans were chanting and stomping, urging the Canadian woman to get back up. Unfortunately for them, Kyo was going to have to disappoint them.

Walking over to Dai, he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her up. "I just want you to know, there's no hard feelings for our first match," he told her, though he wasn't sure how well she'd be able to respond what with the state she was in. "You are a tough competitor, and I admire and respect you. But the match ends here."

And with that, Kyo would slip around behind Dai so that they were back to back, and try to cup his hands around her chin, before leaning forward, stretching Dai across his back with her head and chin positioned over his shoulder, letting gravity do most of the work as he put pressure on her back and neck. Stepping towards the centre of the ring, Kyo would prepare a finisher he had been working on-- a variant of Victoria's famous Widow's Peak from the WWE, though as he preferred to call it, Jikko. He would drop down onto his butt, and in so doing, drive his shoulders and back hard into Dai's upper back, hoping that this stopped her in her tracks for this match!

Whether Daisuke could or could not hear what Kyo was saying, Lina did.  To her it felt like kicking them both while Dai was down, even if that wasn't his intent.  'For fuck sake Dai do something.'  Lina said to herself with a look of major concern.  If Daisuke didn't pull herself together right there and then it could very well be it.

As Kyo said what he did to Daisuke, Sion had to change his mindset from being ready to tag in to breaking up a pin attempt.  Kyo had no problems with getting Daisuke into the position he wanted.  As he went to excuse the final part of the maneuver and dropped down, Daisuke managed to slip free at the last possible moment, causing Kyo to fall on his butt without making it lights out for her.

Daisuke's breathing was noticeably heavy as she pulled herself back to her feet, trying to beat Kyo in doing the same.  if she managed to do so she would get behind Kyo and attempt to apply a crossface chicken wing.

Everything was lined up perfectly. Kyo was ready to hit Daisuke with a brutal but effective finisher that would, hopefully, end the match then and there.Daisuke was being stretched across his back, arms stretched outwards as he bent her against his shoulders, unmoving and unresponsive despite the shouts of Lina and the screams of her fans. Taking a deep breath, Kyo dropped down....

...and at that moment, with a surge of strength Kyo didn't know she had left in her, Dai wrenched her arms free and flung herself off of him, just as Kyo dropped down to his knees. He was granted only a few seconds to blink in confusion when Daisuke came at him from behind, wrenching an arm behind his back and sliding another arm across his chin, bending it sideways in a painful crossface. The motion forced Kyo down onto his front, and he was suddenly reminded that Dai, too, was an expert in submissions a sharp pain shot through his neck and shoulders.

The crowd was going wild now. Breathing hard through clenched teeth, Kyo tried to get his knees under him and use his free arm to drag the two of them, slowly and painfully, towards the ropes...

Daisuke's timing couldn't have been any closer, but not only was she not out of the match, but still in it. Not quite what one may call a second wind, but more of getting one senses back and have them click at the right moment and acting on them. While names of the past have used this move to finish of opponents, Daisuke's use of it was was more of a time buyer, but if it somehow ended it she wouldn't complain.

Lina encouraged Daisuke on from her spot on the outside, motivating Daisuke to break Kyo even though she noticed him attempting to go for the ropes.

Daisuke felt Kyo inching his way closer to the ropes. Rather than holding on to make him not move as quickly as he'd would like, she did not directly resist him from getting closer to the ropes. She did, however, shift as they got closer to the ropes so Kyo would soon be reaching in the direction of the wrong team's corner. Getting there would call for a break, but Sion would be waiting, ready to tag Daisuke on the shoulder once they got in range.

Kyo felt Daisuke's warm breath on his neck as she was pressed in close to him, her chest pressing against his back even as she expertly folded his arm behind his back. For all of these pleasant sensations, her hold was still well applied, even for someone who must be suffering from exhaustion as much as she was. His back and neck were being contorted in ways he didn't even want to contemplate, and despite himself, a stifled cry of pain escaped his lips as Daisuke cranked the hold.

Clenching his teeth and biting back the pain again, Kyo took a deep breath and lunged. At the last possible second, he managed to grab a hold of the bottom rope, his breathing becoming more rapid now as the ref girl told Dai to release Kyo...

Sion wasn't sure if Daisuke meant for this to happen or if it just happened to work out that way, but Sion watched as both Daisuke and Kyo closed in. The close those two got, Lina's encouragement turned into telling Daisuke to pull Kyo back, though she didn't sound as worried as she was a moment ago. Daisuke had the frame mind to move until she pinned him against the corner before tagging, but didn't expect him to suddenly lunge forward.

As they went down, she felt Sion slap him on the backside of the shoulder. It was a reach, but the referee deemed the tag legal. Sion stepped through the ropes just afted Daisuke and Kyo landed.

When Daisuke shifted off of him, Kyo was in Sion's grasp and lifted up, and up some more until Sion put him on the top turnbuckle and positioned his body upside down with his legs hooked by the top turnbuckle, causing Kyo to be upside down in a tree of woe. Backing up a distance, Sion would rush towards Kyo, aiming for a part dropkick part baseball slide to Kyo's face.

Kyo felt Daisuke's grip relax as he finally grabbed the bottom rope, and he slumped against it, breathing hard after being cranked and stretched like an accordion. Grabbing the top rope, he tried to pull himself up, bracing himself for any further attack by Daisuke...except, he quickly realized, Daisuke wasn't going to attack him. Instead, she was moving to tag in Sion.

And Sion, being Daisuke's husband, didn't seem particularly happy with Kyo right now.

As Kyo tried to stand up, Sion was already pulling him up. All of a sudden, Kyo was lifted upside down, and his legs were being entwined around the top rope. Still sore from Daisuke's stretch, Kyo tried in vain to free himself....just as Sion came charging up. Colours exploded across his vision as Sion's kick slammed into his face, and he went limp, hanging from the turnbuckle, groaning dizzily...
