Poll regarding the possibility of Mods booking PPV matches.

Fri Oct 23, 2020 8:43 pm by Old_Man_Tai

So, basically, was wondering all of your thoughts regarding the possiblity of mods booking ppv matches.

The thought was, since people often seem to have trouble finding partners for ppv matches until the last minute or so, what if the mod team was to step in and, well in advance of the show, book the show ourselves, and try to put together the best matches we can, including title defenses, no.1 contender matches, and so on and so forth?

While I doubt our more popular members need such a …

Ring Name: Sora Takenada
Real Name: Sora Takenada
Nicknames: None
Sex: Female
Age: 18
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black (Dyes a different color every month)
Height: 5'0 ft
Weight: 105 lb
Nationality: Japanese
Personality: A scrappy, hot tempered tomboy with a tendency for picking fights. Although Sora is a good natured person, she harbors a lot of inner aggression that she simply can't hold back when someone pushes her buttons. One such red button is bullying. She absolutely despises bullying, abuse, and any other form of harassment, and most of the people she picks fights with tend to be perpetrators of at least one of these things. Due to her intolerance of such forms of cruelty, she's often interpreted as being overprotective of her friends or just defenseless people in general. Sora's personal hobbies include calisthenics, loitering, and listening to rock music. She's a huge fan of American rock and its respective culture. Her dislikes meanwhile, include bullies, authority figures, and as of most recently, perverts.

Sora fights like a rabid pitbull, in and outside of the ring. Despite her short stature, she's incredibly fit and quite capable of bruising any size opponent who doesn't take her seriously. She competes with a rough, amateurish style, rooted in her time spent in gang related street fights. This means that in the heat of the moment she'll do whatever it takes to inflict harm on her opponent, be it breaking their nose, biting their fingers, or kicking their teeth in. Her history in street fighting also makes her suited to hardcore match types, as she very much knows her way around unconventional weapons. Despite Sora's novice level ring ability, her childhood experiences with mixed martial arts and time she spent in AFW's developmental league shouldn't be disregarded, as she'll tend to start applying grapple holds when she's on the losing end of a match.

Signature Moves:
Upstarter - Taking advantage of her short stature, Sora performs this move by simply jumping and headbutting her opponent in their chin or jaw. She usually starts off her matches this way, by fronting off her opponent before the bell rings and immediately catching them offguard with the jumping headbutt. When faced with an opponent who is roughly the same height as her, or shorter than her, Sora will usually lean forward or kneel to perform this move.

Flying Knee - Another move seen commonly in mixed martial arts. It involves Sora leaping forward and jamming her knee into her opponent's face. When confronted by a particularly tall opponent, she can usually only perform this move by jumping from the top rope, or getting them to kneel first. She can also perform a modified version of this move by engaging her opponent in a lockup, and breaking it with a spontaneous, short distanced knee to the face.

Chair Throw - Sora's preferred method of using a chair or other light weight weapon. Rather than using it in a melee fashion, she prefers to simply chuck it at her opponent as hard as she can.

Headlock Hold - In situations where Sora's opponent is dominating her, she'll usually start breaking out immobilizing submission holds out of desperation. The one she uses most commonly involves her wrapping her opponent into a frontal headlock and then locking her legs around their waist. She can attempt this from a standing position or when her opponent has her on her back.

Finishing Move(s): None
Backstory: (Show Spoiler)
Considered by many to be nothing more than a young street punk, Sora has been in and out of trouble for most of her life. Sora was born out of country to Japanese parents and raised traveling around the world until the age of six. Her father was a rather accomplished professional MMA fighter who made his living fighting in country after country, which demanded he travel on a frequent basis. Rather than leave his wife and child behind however, he chose to bring them with him where ever he went. Needless to say, the first six years of Sora's life were quite interesting, as she was exposed to numerous different cultures. She was also heavily influenced by MMA fighting, as it was such a prominent part of her family's life, and she developed a desire to follow in her father's footsteps at a very young age. Sora's father started training her at around four, despite heavy reluctance from her mother to let him do so. It wasn't particularly intense training, but by the time Sora was six years old she at least had a novice level mastery of mixed martial arts. She still had an entire lifetime ahead of her to get better... or so her father thought. Several weeks before Sora's seventh birthday, her father competed in a scheduled fight against a particularly mean and brutish Spanish fighter, who had a nasty reputation for bullying and taking things too far in matches and contests. The fight ended up being rather even sided for the most part, but it came to a sudden tragic end when the Spanish fighter grew overzealous and ended up killing Sora's father with several nasty blows to the head after the referee had called for him to back off. This unfortunate tragedy turned Sora's life inside out, and nothing was ever the same for her and her mother.

Some time after the death of her father, Sora and her mother returned to Japan, where they stayed permanently. As Sora's father had been the main source of income for their family, the two ended up falling into poverty quite quickly, and over the following years they ended up having to move to poorer and poorer neighborhoods. Sora's mother did the best she could working several jobs to support them, but unfortunately money wasn't the only issue. There was also the grief they had the work through, and with her mother constantly working multiple jobs, Sora rarely found herself with anyone to talk to about her father's death. She eventually became a very closed off girl, developing a bad habit of keeping her feelings bottled up, and by her teenage years this lead to her acting out. At age thirteen, Sora began joining street gangs and getting into frequent trouble with the law. While she never fell into the habit of abusing drugs or stealing, she did love to fight. She liked to fight anyone she could, be it rival gang members, boys at school, or even the police. On several occasions Sora physically assaulted officers attempting to arrest her and her fellow gang members, and it was only because her mother happened to have a cousin who worked as a court judge that Sora never received as severe a punishment as she probably should have.

Still, despite Sora's rebellious streak and anger problems, she was never really a bad kid. She attended school regularly and achieved average grades, and she even had a few good friends in school who weren't involved in criminal activity. She also happened to be very protective of said friends and just physically weaker students in general, as most of her fights in school happened to be against bullies. Sora hated bullying with an unrelenting passion. Nothing set her off the handle more than seeing someone pushing around, harassing, or humiliating another person, and she constantly found herself unable to resist picking fights with assholes who did such things. In her gang related brawls, Sora also had a recurring tendency to pick fights with the biggest psychos around, ranging from punks who claimed to be rapists all the way to those who claimed to be killers. A psychologist would probably conclude that Sora's habit of picking fights with bullies stems from her deep seeded hatred for the man who killed her father. Not that Sora actually ever sought professional help for her issues. All she knew, and to this day still knows, is that she can't stand back twiddling her thumbs when she sees people doing wrong to others. She can't help but try to put a stop to it, or at the very least beat the snot out of the perpetrator.

Eventually though, Sora's noble yet hot blooded tendencies put her in hotter water than ever before. One day, while walking home from school with a group of friends, they were approached by a drunken middle aged man who followed them and persistently tried to hit on the youngest and shyest of her friends. The man grew increasingly bold and aggressive to the point of eventually trying to cop a feel. Sora of course, immediately came to her friend's defense and laid the lecher out flat, only to find out later that he was an important business tycoon. He pressed legal charges against her, and since Sora was no longer a child and already had such a sketchy criminal history, she was now facing serious jail time. For a while things looked extremely bleak for Sora, but ultimately she was saved from imprisonment thanks to her mother's cousin's influence, and the testimonies of her friends, including the one who had been harassed by the business tycoon. Sora however, didn't get off scott free this time. Considering her long history of gang activity and criminal offenses, the court decided that a punishment was in order, but a punishment that would serve as her last chance to "turn her life around". Sora was placed into a program for troubled youths like herself, that focused on involving them in professional grade athletic activities to help them work out their aggression and give them something productive to focus their energy on. Many different sports leagues worked with this program, and Sora was given the option of choosing which one she wanted to join. The whole thing however, just seemed pointless and stupid to Sora, and she could have given less of a damn about what sport she participated in. She narrowed down her choice to several different competitive fighting leagues, based on her past history with mixed martial arts, but beyond that she just chose at random without giving any thought or care as to what she was signing up for. When she eventually did learn about the league she had joined though, she would immediately come to regret her carelessness.

Sora was now the newest rookie of a professional wrestling league known as AFW, which was one of the newer participants working with the recreational program for troubled youths. No one else in the program had ever chosen to join AFW before Sora, particularly because unlike Sora, everyone else in her shoes had actually bothered learning about what AFW was beforehand. It turned out to be wrestling league with heavy focus on female on female competition and sexualized, borderline pornographic match stipulations. Of course even if one where to disregard the sexual aspects, the AFW seemed to promote and encourage brutal and downright malicious levels of competitiveness between its wrestlers. Sora couldn't believe what she was seeing as she watched tapes of past AFW Friction shows. The way these women harassed, bullied, and demeaned each other was absolutely ridiculous in her eyes. The AFW seemed to embody everything, absolutely everything that Sora hated... but it was too late to back out. She had already signed an ironclad contract with AFW through her sponsored program, and she knew that quitting at any time before her contract was up would land her in prison for her assault on the business tycoon, for who knew how many years? Sora hardly had any choice in the matter.

For the following few months, Sora decided to lay low in the AFW, wanting the avoid the league's screwed up competitors and crazed environment as much as she possibly could. She quickly learned of AFW's developmental league which focused on training wrestlers while still technically including them as employed competitors. Sora believed, or at least hoped, that she could just stick it out in this developmental league until her contract with AFW expired, and come out of the whole experience without having to expose herself to the insanity of either of AFW's staple shows, Friction or Tension. However, when a representative from her sponsoring program arrived to check on her progress one day, she was informed that the developmental league didn't qualify for the arrangement between the AFW and the program, and she was promptly ordered to apply for either the Friction or Tension rosters or else face "immediate legal ramifications". Begrudgingly, Sora decided to join the Friction roster after discovering it's Kawaii division. As she technically met all the requirements to become a Kawaii, she joined the sub division believing that she wouldn't have to deal with as much insanity and foul behavior as she would as a part of the main roster. What Sora failed to consider however, was that most of the other Kawaii were as lacking in toughness and fighting aptitude as they were in wrestling ability. While Sora was just as much of a wrestling newbie as rest of the Kawaii division, she was much tougher, aggressive, and had more fighting experience than most of the others did. She came to realize this in her first and last Kawaii match, where she accidentally broke her opponent's arm. She felt absolutely horrible for what she had done, feeling like a bully herself, and she never wanted it to happen again. Sora promptly quit the Kawaii division and joined the main roster, despite her reservations about it. She is now about to truly begin her AFW career, and will soon discover if her trepidation is warranted or not. Of course either way, she really has no choice.
