Personality:
Rafael has all the exuberance and fire of youth. He’s passionate, energetic, and thrill-seeking, and tries to give 110% to everything he does. While he doesn’t have a temper persay, it’s easy to get him pumped up or riled up. He's also a big fan of promoting himself via social media, constantly posting updates of everyday life to all platforms.

Past/History:
Rafael was born in Brazil to a Brazilian mother and a Japanese father, though he never got to know the later. His mother raised him singlehandedly and under the impression that his father was dead. On his 18th birthday, she finally told him the truth, that his father was alive and that he lived in Japan. Rafael had been conceived while his father was on a business trip, he was a talent agent for AFW and was headhunting the Brazilian leagues. It was supposed to be a one night thing, but his mother got pregnant. She was able to track the father down, but he already had a family back in Japan. In order to keep her quiet, his father sent them informal alimony payments.

Well, needless to say, this news didn’t go over well with Rafael. Feeling like there was now a huge void in his life, the impetuous young guy did what the young and stupid do: run off on a whim. He took the first plane to Japan without much of a plan, and soon found himself low on cash and no idea where to look. His first thought was to join the AFW, get on the inside and find his father that way, but without any wrestling training, he failed to impress and was rejected. His mother didn’t have anything for him to go on other than a first name, no picture, no way to contact him, no guarantee he even still worked at that company. He managed to snag a job working as a bartender in a nightclub while he tried to re-evaluate. He figured his best bet was to keep trying AFW, maybe once he got in, he might be able to get access to the company records.

Luck finally seemed to be turning his way when he started chatting up what he thought was a customer, and ended up being his boss, the bajillionaire Kamo Ryusaki. Whether it was pity or generosity, Kamo told him he had connections, that he could get him into the AFW so long as he remembered who helped him out later down the road. Rafael was ecstatic, he thanked and thanked the man, consequences be damned he was gonna find his father! Thus, a new star was born in Rafael Vega, AFW’s new Latin rookie!
