Gaining Momentum - Round 2 - Mako 'The Shark' Adachi vs. Cicilia 'The Juggernaut' De'Reignhardt

Cicilia's eyes widened as she spotted the fist cocked down low, Mako really not doing herself any favors by making it obvious! It seemed as if she paused, rubbing it in the German's face, thinking she was completely defenseless with her back against a wall... A stupid mistake... A beast was always most dangerous when she was cornered... and now certainly qualified! As the shark's finishing blow arched up, aiming to impact with the German's jaw, Cicilia CRANED her neck to the side JUST in time, the leather-covered fist instead knicking her cheek rather handily!

The Boxer stared at the passing fist, shocked by how much power it had possessed... If that blow had hit her... then that might've just knocked her to the floor again...

"Grrrrr...." She gritted her teeth, stepping into Mako's space as her fist shot wide of it's target, bringing back her own fist in a counter-uppercut, this one aimed at the shark's gut instead of her jaw! It wasn't QUITE as powerful as Mako's punch... but it DAMN well was capable of making her PAY for her insolence!

If she thought her face would go unattended, however, how wrong she was... Cicilia had upwards of 9 punches with Mako's name on them and they would be delivered post haste! Always trying to move in closer and closer, the juggernaut's fists fell upon her rival like a doomsday-storm, hooks and straights and uppercuts as slow as oncoming death... but their impact almost as potent and certain. All these punches were intended to beat the living SENSE out of Mako,

"ENOUGH OF YOU!" Cicilia roared, cocking back her fist once more in a familiar position, her strength channeling into her muscles... With a snarl, the boxer unleashed a fully charged TRAIN WRECKER PUNCH, her fist like a Buck-shot flying RIGHT at her opponent's jaw! She would break it like cheap glass... She would NOT BE PUT DOWN IN HER OWN SPORT!

It took a second for Mako to register what just happened. Her uppercut had not launched Cicilia out of the ring. It grazed her, BARELY. That's when things got really bad as the german woman sent an uppercut into the shark's gut. The blow immediately made her gasp and hunch over in pain. Shortly after that, Cici started to fight back with punch after punch at her opponent. Each one smacking on target across the shark's body.

Mako had no way to stop the assault, either. She was dizzy and overcome with pain as she stumbled backwards. Mako was nearly out cold on her feet! But in a brief moment, the shark saw Cicilia cock her fist back. This was a big one, she knew instinctually. And in her battered state, the woman couldn't thunk straight. She forgot everything around her and focused solely on defending herself from this punch that would surely knock her out cold.

So Mako spun around on her right foot, and extended her other leg into the air. Then, as Cici was throwing her punch, the shark was sending a wicked roundhouse kick to the boxer's face! Despite the juggernaut having a head start on the punch, the shark's kick had more reach thanks to her long legs. But even if her kick stopped the punch by smacking into Cicilia's face, this wasn't a kick boxing match! Mako might have well been swinging a chair at the woman's head! The official was not going to let this slide...which really sucked. Especially since the shark hadn't realized her mistake yet due to her battered state.

Before Cicilia's fist could even impact with Mako, a massive kick SLAMMED into Cicilia's cheek! Instantly, the German's eyes went blank as her strength just... disappeared upon contact with this unexpected and illegal blow! The German's fist flew wide of it's target, her arm falling limp by her side as she fell back, hitting the ground HARD like a falling statue.

"W-what...?" She whispered softly, staring blankly up and the shining lights above. "Wh...where...." Her thoughts were scrambled, her mind wracked, Cicilia completely out of it... For all intents and purposes, if this had been a no-rules fight where anything could happen, the shark would've won right then and there! There was NO way she could've gotten back up in 10 measly seconds after such a surprising and devastating blow!

...However... this wasn't one of those fights...

...And Mako had just done something worthy of disqualification!

A ghost of a bell *DINGED* in the boxer's ears, signalling the end of the match... But for whom the bell tolled was not who was left standing... but instead for the one who had fallen.

"DISQUALIFICATION!" The ref yelled, her voice coming through slightly clearer as Cicilia began to regain herself. "THE USE OF KICKS IS NOT PERMITTED IN BOXING! MAKO ADACHI IS DISQUALIFIED!

"H-huh...?" Cicilia gasped, slowly pushing herself up into a sitting position as reality dawned on her. "You... you gotta be kidding me... This fight isn't... isn't over yet!"

...But it was. Cicilia was in no condition to push on and Mako had broken a cardinal rule... No matter what Cicilia said... the official wouldn't budge. This match was over and Cicilia had won... by a fucking technicality.

Mako was pissed. Not at the ref, not at the woman she'd just kicked, she was mad at herself! The shark may have made the dumbest mistake of her career just now. Even as the ref declared her disqualified, she was still in shock. As soon as reality came back and hit her in the face, though, Mako was not quiet about this whole fucking blunder.

"FUCK!" the shark shouted as the fans started booing. Most in the crowd were chanting 'Let them fight' but others were shouting 'You fucked up'. A part of her really wanted to go out and beat those people up. She was shut so pissed at herself, and hearing others confirming it was not helping. When the shark noticed Cici was slowly coming to, Mako did something she never thought she'd ever do. She bailed like a coward.

Mako went straight through the ropes, and immediately made her exit. She wasn't going to face the woman after blatantly kicking her...well...in the face. So the shark left without apologizing, and before the Juggernaut had a chance to punch her face in. Mako knew she deserved it, but if the German wanted revenge, she'd have to wait. The woman would disappear into the back soon enough.  There was no doubt she'd be drinking tonight, that was for sure. Mako planned to get black out drunk as soon as she got home. Hopefully she'd have enough beer back home for that...

The ref pulled Cicilia up to her feet as the German fought her, the woman trying to raise her gloved hand as a sign of victory all the while!

"Ugh! GET OFF ME!" She demanded, shrugging off the woman in stripes! Mako was already making a quick and hasty exit, the crowd 'boo'ing and insulting her all the way out as the boxer tried to follow after her! "Wait... MAKO, WAIT!" She wasn't MAD that she'd been kicked in the face! It didn't feel intentional! The way her body moved, how quick and reflexive it was, the German had identified it in hindsight as a defensive reaction! She didn't appreciate it... but she understood it, especially for someone new enough to the sport. Cicilia didn't support any of this chastizing of the poor woman, Mako probably feeling her pride being gnawed at by the disapproving roars of the crowd! She felt herself grow more and more angry with those who had watched, how they couldn't SEE how this wasn't cheating! IT WASN'T INTENTIONAL, DAMN IT! SHUT UP!

"M-MAKO! W-WAI-" Cicilia attempted to stumble after her, reaching out for her opponent... before her legs gave out underneath her, the boxer falling harshly to her knees as the ref ran to her side! Her head was still rocked, her balance ruined... Cicilia could only watch on sadly as Mako rushed out in disgrace...

...What an ugly, familiar feeling... What an utterly familiar sight...

CICILIA WINS VIA DISQUALIFICATION!
