Theo would have liked to do something to help Willy out right now. He would have also liked feeling in his lower back. Life was full of disappointments today, it seemed.

He’d been on the apron, recovering from the beatdown Viper had given, struggling to get back on his two feet, much less do something to interfere. Watching Sucker Punch go to work was a humbling experience, for a lot of reasons. Not just for how destructive they were, but for the way that they were so in sync, working in tandem with moves they’d clearly been practicing for countless hours. He could just tell - they knew where they were supposed to be, what the timing was, when to move where and how to get there. The sort of machine that he and Willy were supposed to be, really. If nothing else, this would be a learning experience.

He’d been resigned to their fate, expecting a pin coming and knowing he didn’t have the energy to go after it, when it turned out that he didn’t even have to. Instead of going for the win, Gyuri kicked Willy his way, clearly taunting him, daring him to come back in. He canted his head to the side, confused, but seeing a sliver of hope, here. He was hurt, yes, but if there was any chance of winning this match at all, it was with Gyuri. He was hurt, but so was she, even if she’d had more time to recover. Maybe...just maybe…

He nodded her way, then reached down to tag Willy, letting his friend roll his way back in. Doing his best to ignore the pain, Theo came in through the ropes and came her way with raised fists, through out a right cross her way the second he was in range. Hardly the fanciest thing, but his body was just not in the shape for anything on the fancy side.

She wasn't sure he would bite. Had the roles been reversed, she wasn't sure she would have done it. When Theo reached down and tagged himself in, she visibly perked up, smirking behind her mask. The both of them had done a number on her early on and really put a damper on her attempts to show off what she could do… plus she wanted to mess with Theo a bit. While Willy was cocky and brutish, Theo was thoughtful and serious… she could have far more fun with that.

Her arms came up defensively as he slipped through the ropes, popping her weight up onto the balls of her feet as she started to strafe from side to side to avoid giving him a still target. When the cross came in, she bobbed away, circling way and under the punch to come back around, leaning in to give the blond a playful smack on the cheek just to prove she could hit him if she wanted.

She was quick to dip out though, not risking staying in too long to tempt another cross where it would be harder to dodge. She lowered her guard slightly, turning her hands around. She looked as though she wanted to lock up with him. She had a small mischievous look in her eyes, daring him to meet her head on again. While earlier exchanges like this may have been in his favor, it was pretty obvious she was only offering it now because she had an upper hand.

Theo wasn’t quite sure what to make of Gyuri, but as near as he could figure, she and Viper had some kind of teacher-student relationship going on, though there was nothing traditional about it. It was the only thing that really made sense. Viper could have won this match minutes ago, if she’d wanted. He’d thought she just didn’t care about winning the match, but the beatdown she’d given them was proof he’d been wrong there. Yet, at the same time, she didn’t stop Gyuri from playing around and running the risk - a small risk, mind you - of screwing up the huge advantage she’d made.

As equal partners, it was weird. As a student and her mentor, it made sense. Like a parent teaching her child how to drive, and taking the wheel when she needed to.

Interesting, if true, but it didn't much help him, now. She responded to his punch with a smack on the cheek, one that left him red faced for two reasons, then bobbed around him, staying mobile. Toying with him - that smack could’ve easily been a punch. It was annoying, but maybe it wasn’t the worst thing. While he was hurt, he wasn’t quite done, not just yet. If he played this right…

When she came his way with open arms for a lockup, he started to move her way, appearing to accept it...only to drop down halfway and fall to his knee before her, as if his leg couldn’t handle the weight any longer. Which wasn't’ too far from the truth, really, but it was still a ruse.

Instead of staying down, he jerked up with a burst of speed and reached for her head, grabbing hold of her hair with both hands and pulled her chin to the top of his skull. He did a quick hop up and fell back down to his knees, ramming their skull together with a jawbreaker, hoping the element of surprise would work in his favor for once.

She had every intention of playing with Theo like a cat may seat around a mouse for a bit. She was confident in their victory… how could she not be after Viper had been throwing the two of them around like ragdolls. So why not have a bit of fun? The blond seemed game as well after coming away empty handed with his opening strike. As she moved in though, he collapsed before her. She furrowed a brow, pausing mid way to him. Really? Was it all really just a tough guy act?

With a small roll of her eyes she moved up to Theo, reaching out to grab for his shoulders, intent to drag him back to his feet so she could get what she wanted out of him… then he sprang to life. She let out a surprised cry as if she had just been jump scared by a scary movie, jerking back away from Theo. It didn't help, he had grabbed her hair. She bent forward into his assault, chin cracking against the top of his skull, rattling her teeth.

Gyuri recoiled back from the impact, flopping onto the mat on her back. Her hands came to her face, holding her palms to her masked visage as she shot off rapid fire Korean swears while writhing on the mat. Her blood was boiling. All she had wanted to do was roll around with Theo a little before finishing him off, then he had to go and ruin it all! What an asshole!

To Theo’s surprise, he actually got a few cheers when he managed to land that jawbreaker. Not too many, mind you, just some scattered support, but it was far more than he’d come into this ring with. It seemed like Sucker Punch’s dirty tactics had managed tot turn off a few patrons here and there, and Viper’s dominating had made them into underdogs. It wasn’t exactly a strong showing of support, but hey, careers had been built off of far less. At least something good had come out of all this mess, small as it was.

He couldn’t take the time to really revel in it, though, as he saw his chance, his only chance, laid out before her. The Jawbreaker wasn’t exactly a finishing move, but the attack had taken her off guard, and with that, there was a chance she was too stunned to properly process things. So maybe, maybe, maybe...

Theo rushed forward on his knees, scrambling over Gyuri and dropping his full weight on her chest. He reached over to grab her legs, pulling them up and pressing down to get her in a tight pin. ”Workworkworkwork-”

The referee dropped down beside them and started the count. ”1…!”

Laying on the mat, she could have been dwelling on a lot of things. Like her inability to see that coming after the obvious ploy or why she hadn't taken the plain when she could have had Willy dead to right moments ago. She was being selfish. Wanting to win on her terms when she wanted and against who she wanted. It was nice having victory all but handed to her, but she wanted a real taste of finishing things up on her own and now she threw it all away.

Gyuri let out a gasp as Theo laid himself heavily across her, legs coming up easily as she laid beneath him. Viper was going to kill her for this. Why didn't she just do what she was supposed to? She could we the referee hit the mat on their knees, already striking the canvas for the first count. This felt horrible… to have it all and just lose it like that… also her jaw really, really hurt.

"Two!"

Viper remained on the apron, watching. Her fingers idly drumming along the top rope. She had done her belt to prepare Gyuri for coming to Tension. They drilled constantly, sparred occasionally, and nearly every day she impacted nuggets of wisdom upon the young woman in hopes of would.make her better. Stronger. There was no teaching humility or respect. That was something that had to happen on its own. She had been at the other side of it once, and while it had driven her to be that better version of her someone else wanted, she ultimately jumped the tracks to get there and it cost her everything. If they lost today, she would be pissed but she would come away from it fine. If this is what Gyuri needed to open her eyes, she was going to let it happen.

"Nyagh!" The Korean gave one hard buck. Unfolding her body with an outward thrust of her legs, rolling a shoulder up just slightly with an arm reaching for the heavens. She had fought too hard to get here to go down like this. Mopey and feeling had for herself. She groaned, panting softly as she kept her arm raised up in defiance despite still having Theo on top of her.

Theo was honestly surprised when he heard the hand come down for a second time, bringing him towards 66% of a victory and growing fast. Was he about to became the first person in wrestling history to win a match with a jawbreaker? He’d take it. Gladly. Viper wasn’t caving his skull in with her boot heel, so it seemed like she was perfectly fine with letting it happen.

And then up came her arm, breaking out and send him flopping to the side, at the last possible second.

Theo didn’t move back to her right away, both because he was shocked and he frankly didn’t have the energy for it. Mixed feelings? Yeah, that pretty well described how he was feeling at the moment. Gyuri was tough, far tougher than he’d ever expect a woman her size to be. It was kind of humbling, and because of their similar styles, he wanted to admire her. If he’d been watching this match instead of participating, he’d definitely be rooting for her to win. But on this side of the screen, she and Viper had been wrecking him and Willy, stomping them left and right, and he was at the end of his rope. There was no way he could let it slip away now, now that an unlikely win was so close.

[color=#0000ff]”Jesus, you are tough.” He sighed with a soft laugh and rolled back over to straddle Gyuri’s hips, pinning her down. ”But…”

Theo wheeled back and started throwing heavy punches right into Gyuri’s face, battering away at her skull. It wasn’t flashy, it wasn’t fun, but it was his wheelhouse, and it was one of the few things he had the energy left for. It would have to do.

It also helped that he was pretty sure she’d do this or far worse if the positions were reversed.

She let out a relieved sigh when Theo shifted on top of her, easing back to the match to catch her breath. She squinted from the overhead lights, no longer having her hat to share her face. Man she had messed this up. When he spoke, it took her a moment to put two and two together. At first she thought he was doing some kind of prayer. Religious people were weird. But when he seemed to be talking to her… what he said was even stranger. That wasn't her name. She did smirk at the compliment though.

"Gyuri." She muttered as he slipped a leg over top of her, silhouettes in the lights. She blinked in sudden realization of what was about to happen and started to rapidly shake her head, digging her heels into the mat to try and struggle her way out from under him.

When the first hit came, her arms went up. Turtling herself on the floor as he rained down blows on her. Each one cracked against her forearms, numbing her fingers, making her limbs burn. She thrashed and kicked, but he was too heavy, too well position, she couldn't throw him off. They hadn't trained for this!

Her head snapped to the side as the first punch came through. Arms wobbling. She managed to catch another with her guard with blind luck before being hit again. It was hard to tell what was happening with how much pain was in her arms, but she was fairly sure her guard was broken now because each blow from Theo was whipping her head from side to side. She could feel her fight dying under his blow. Legs turning to jelly as she was helplessly beaten to the mat. She knew this feeling… she hated this feeling… she clenched her eyes shut and took it. It was all she could do. Viper wasn't going to save her this time. She had to survive on her own.

When they came to Tension, Theo had told himself that he’d tried to avoid stiff shots like this on women. He wasn’t trying to be a white knight or anything, but he’d had a fairly chivalrous upbringing, and bashing a girl’s face in just seemed kind of...wrong. Even if, in practice, it probably wasn’t all that much more violent than kicking them in the face or bodyslamming them or driving his elbow into their chest from ten feet up.

But his opinion on that had changed in the last few minutes. It was hard to pinpoint the exact time, but if he had to guess, it was somewhere between the time Viper turned him inside out with that lariat and the moment she tried to insert her boot heel into his spine.

Also, she said her name. No idea what was up with that, but okay. ”Theo. Nice to, uh, meet you.”

And now for the beating. She did a good job blocking it at first, but there was only so much she could do from this position, and he soon began to crack through her guard and rain down the pain, wailing on her with full swing. He wasn’t trying to knock her out this way, just softening her up, and it worked - after too long, she was left laying, a battered wreck on the floor, open to anything.

Theo took a moment to catch his breath before he slid off her body and stood, grabbing the ropes for support and steadying himself. With his second wind coming on strong, he came through the ropes, went on the apron, and took a short walk to the turnbuckle, scaling it as quick as his aching limbs would allow. He managed to make it up top without any problem, and gauged the distance as he rose, balancing himself on the pad. Gyuri was more or less in the perfect spot. He could do this.

Without any further hesitation, Theo threw himself forward, spinning through the air with a full rotation, attempting to come crashing down on Gyuri with a 630 Senton - his finisher, Cold As Ice.

Gyuri's eyelids fluttered as she lay battered on the mat. The punches had finally stopped and she could feel Theo pushing off of her and leaving. He wasn't pinning her, yet. This were already had but in the back of her mind she knew they would get worse very soon. She groaned loudly, reaching up to tug down the bandana down from her face. She felt as though it was choking her, she needed to breathe.

The Korean lifted her head, one eyes closed she looked to Theo as he reached the corner. Her head lulled back to the mat in surrender. This was too hard. She was done.

A sharp whistle make her ears perk. Viper was signalling her. Shit. That hadn't been part of her game plan in staying down. With a grumble she slowly rolled herself into her side, trying to gauge just how dire this was… Theo was at the top rope. Not good. She grit her teeth, turning a switch in her mind. Her muscles were cuddling on all cylinders as she shoved herself up to her knees, swaying in place, threatening at any moment to fall. She threw her head back, drawing in another deep breath through her mouth.

Theo took flight. She was still in his path. As he flipped through the air she watched in silence, feeling dizzy just looking at him. Without thinking she surged forward, jumping off the mat just past his landing destination, reaching back to grab hold of the back of his head and bring it down across her shoulder, locking him into her finisher the Stormchaser for the rest of his way down to the mat.
