Strategy: Blaze likes to get up close and personal with her attacks, taking the fight straight to her opponents and hammering at them with crushing kicks, deep punches, and elbows aimed at the vital spots. Once they’re down, she goes to work with submissions, preferring the simple and effective over the big and flashy, preferring chokes. For all the glitz and glamour of her in-ring persona, it’s a rather brutal, basic kind of combat. In matches that allow for weapons, she will make use of them for direct strikes as well as integrate them into moves to bring out their pull potential.

Vertical Slash: Diving forward, Blaze vaults herself off the ground from a handspring position. After a full rotation she brings her arms around for a heavy double handed chop or a balled up fist axe handle smash.

Buzzsaw Kick: Blaze throws herself backwards in a handstand, sending a powerful kick up at her opponent's face. Carrying the moment through, she somersaults off the ground to land back on her feet at a relatively save distance. As effective for offense as it is for defensive spacing.

Guillotine Choke:After getting her opponent into a tight headlock, Blaze softens her foe up with a few knees, then leaps up and wraps her legs around their body to secure the choke, cranking it hard and wearing them down.

Blaze is, for the most part, a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky party girl, refusing to put her roots down for too long and always eager to try out new things. Life is short, and she tries to maximize her time with it, so she takes a ‘I’ll try anything once’ approach to life. While that can be a plus, making her open and willing to take on new ideas, it can also make her a bit flighty and unfocused - the list of things she’s started and quit is a lot longer than the list of things she’s seen through to the end.

When she’s in the ring, however, things change a bit. A natural competitor, she’s good at maintaining her focus once she’s between the ropes, and can get quite intense when she’s on her game. While she isn’t sadistic and doesn’t get off on pain, she won’t hold back, either.

History:

Nadine’s life could’ve been boring, if she’d let it. Growing up in Miami, her parents weren’t anything too special, working at various jobs within Disney World. Her and her elder sister lived a mediocre life, decent grades, didn’t get into much trouble, and it looked like she was on the way to a safe, if somewhat boring, existence.

But Nadine found herself craving a bit more out of life than that. She had three great interests in her life - 80s music, videogames, and combat sports, and lot of her free time growing up was spent indulging those interests and trying to find ways to further them in her life. She took up martial arts, namely jujitsu and karate, became something of a gaming aficionado, and started up a band with her friends out of her garage named Bare Knuckle.

After she left high school, she was still trying to focus her time into a more meaningful path, and got into MMA as a way to earn some good cash while tiding things over. It was fun, sure, and she had some decent success but the sport itself kind of bored her. It had the action, but not the style she wanted. Was missing a sense of big stage flare that she craved. So she got the girls back together and went on tour. They remained an obscure little band until a video went viral of a man bum rushing on stage on one of her shows and she put him in a triangle choke all while keeping the song going. This spiraled out to a ridiculous spectacle in which many of her concerts were connected with or preceded fight venues and were semi famous for being a place to get drunk and knock heads. She leaned into the rough and rowdy fanbase, carving out a unique niche that had her providing a unique experience for anyone who attended... so long as they signed a liability waiver at the door.

That was around the time a PR representative reached out to her from AFW interested in signing her as a talent as well as a musician to help provide tracks for wrestler entrances. While she wasn’t the biggest wrestling fan per se, she did like the idea of the AFW. Fighting who she wanted, how she wanted, and when she wanted as an alluring prospect. Throw in the sprinklings of experimenting with some new, one of a kind experiences and she was sold. Competing in the ring is very much a side gig however, not putting too much effort into building her career in Friction over just making herself a bigger brand in general. While her music career is her first love, anything that gets her up on a stage feeling like a rock star will get her blood pumping.

Fun Facts:

Knuckle Down: With the recent resurgence of retro 80s aesthetic she has been getting a great deal of work here in Japan, small and large signings alike, she can often be found outside of the area doing promotion work for her band, Bare Knuckle, or performing on stage. While the only gal in the band with some legitimate fight experience, her band mates are more than capable to throw down at a moments notice when the crowds get too rowdy or Blaze needs some extra muscle. people who cause problems at their shows don't get thrown out, they get taken out.

Dancing Flames: While not formally trained as a dancer, she is fond of freestyle and contemporary styles of dance. While this seems to be a rather drastic shift from the rowdy gal most people know her as, she likes to slink off and just express herself from time to time without having to knock out some teeth or choke someone half to death.
