Everyone Has Their Own Destiny

Charlotte should have expected that she would receive just such a reaction. Of course, she was not the one who started that fight, the first blow was struck by Elizabeth. But the responsibility for the result was still on her. And nothing could serve as an excuse for what she did to her little sister. She still hated herself for it and it was unlikely that it would ever change. And although Sintharia helped her to shake off some of the guilt that she had kept for all these years, the Frenchwoman still felt how her act was haunting her, preventing her from living in peace.

The only ray of hope that she had not poured out all her soul in vain was that Alaina had drawn some conclusions. It was not one of those inspiring stories where it all ends with rainbows and unicorns. Still, it was a story about you can do whatever you want with your life, if you are willing to pay for it, even if sometimes a price is too high. The pink-haired woman removed her hand from Alaina's shoulder.

It was hard not to notice that Alaina still doubted, she herself confirmed this by saying that Charlotte was the one who came out the winner in their third match. But as the martial artist already said, she's not going to apologize for that. Her goal was to surpass Alaina and there was only one way to achieve this goal. Charlotte nodded when she heard her friend was going to find answers.

"I am sure that you will find what you are looking for," she said, smiling weakly, "you are strong in body and spirit, you just need to remember this."

She walked along the stadium again, slightly lost in her own thoughts. She was already beginning to question whether she had done the right thing in telling the American woman her life story. Of course, she omitted some not the most important details, but in fact all the main events that happened to Charlotte from the moment of her birth fit into this story.

A difficult past led her to the fact that she learned to restrain her negative impulses and even use them as a weapon. Although she had already used it twice in the ring, including their match at the Avalanche, she still wasn't sure if she should using her inner anger as a catalyst. In fact, she wasn't sure about anything at all.

Charlotte tried not to think about it, but even after the last victory, almost nothing changed. She did not forget that strange feeling during the match and although she still did not understand what it was connected with, she was sure that soon she would find out. True, deep down she was very much afraid that she would not like the answer. On the other hand, this is life and everyone faces difficulties in one way or another. She faced some difficulties already now, but something told her that these were just flowers compared to what awaited her in the future.

"Anytime," Charlotte said to Alaina, "of course, let's go back."

If this conversation really helped her friend to at least partially sort out her concerns, then Charlotte was sincerely glad. In a sense, all this was quite ironic, because they had a lot more differences than similarities. Each of them had personal problems that exerted tremendous pressure.

Alaina was one of the most experienced and respected female wrestlers here, who still, despite her best efforts, has not been able to get the top. In turn, Charlotte was a talented newcomer, who still wasn't recognized. Yellow press headlines and comments on social media took care of this. Two wins against a veteran. Twice lucky. It was eating her from the inside. The only difference was that Charlotte was silent about her problems.

Both women re-entered the gym and Charlotte returned to the ring to take her bag and a water bottle. She checked her phone and raised her left eyebrow slightly at the message from Victoria. The manager wanted to meet with Charlotte to discuss the strategy. Yes, there really was a need for that. Because if everything continues the way it was now, then she for real will become one of those who win and lose matches for years, but, despite all the talent, will not achieve anything at all. She was literally horrified by the thought that for years she would be patted on the shoulder with the words that she did a good job, but everything is still ahead.

“I have to go,” Charlotte said, tucking her phone into her bag and then glancing at Alaina.

Now she really felt rather ambivalent feelings. On the one hand, Alaina was her friend and she sincerely wanted to support her. On the other hand, selfish as it was, Charlotte thought Alaina was in a much better position than she was. And so... it was all complicated. Perhaps it was even good that she never confessed to the American woman that she felt sympathy for her, which was more than friendly. After all, if it turned out so that it is mutual, then everything would become even more complicated.

"See you in the ring, Amazon," she said goodbye, "I have a feeling that our next match will finally close all our questions."

With one last smile, Charlotte threw the bag over her shoulder and headed to the dressing room to take a shower. She was sure that Alaina would find the answers she was looking for, she was sure that her friend would return to the ring and she was sure that when this happened, the Amazon would be stronger than ever. She did not doubt it for a second, because she believed in her idol. And therefore, she had to do everything possible so that in their next meeting no one would have any doubts that Charlotte deserved the victory not thanks to luck, but thanks to her talent and frantic desire for the top.
