Personality:
In short, she’s a chuunibyou, a girl who hasn’t grown out of her nerdy early stages of role playing her original edgy OC she made in real life. She even takes it as far as to try and keep the persona active at all times. Speaking of her “other personality”, she has titled herself as being the: “Defiant Darkness”. Try being the underlining word here because she has a tendency to get a bit emotional and completely break character. If someone were to get Akemi to feel some type of extreme emotion, she will end up breaking character and react according to how her real personality will react.

Her real personality is very timid because she feels uncomfortable acting as her actual self which causes her to retract and act as someone that is the complete opposite of what the Defiant darkness is. She will try to deny any form of weakness because she doesn’t want to admit that she is not as strong as her character, and has a hard time accepting herself as a person. She would much rather her real personality not exist and be completely replaced with The Defiant Darkness personality because she thinks she can never match up to what the personality she created is.

She enjoys being praised and doing so will typically encourage Akemi to go further into The Defiant Darkness’ exotic personality and has developed a cosplay hobby in which she will dress herself in many different outfits. The Defiant Darkness is someone who’s strong, prideful, powerful and boastful. Basically a lot of things that Akemi is not. She loves to act evil, but Akemi isn’t evil exactly. So whenever she ends up saving somebody, she will typically hit or kick them to try and hide her good side and proceed to talk about how under her they are.

Backstory:
As a child, she and her parents used to play make believe which is normal for a child to do. But Akemi was different. Instead of enjoying playing the hero, she would like to play the villain instead. She would also change up how the story went so the villain would always win as well. As time went on, and she grew older, her parents stopped roleplaying with her. But she didn’t stop roleplaying her character. She yearned to do more, and eventually got expelled from school after gravely hurting a couple of girls who had been bullying her for her choice of clothing for months.

She hated how unfair the world was, and despised how bullies could just get away with bullying her while the “good guys” did nothing but ignore her. It didn’t help that her parents’ expectations of her were increasing to the point where they would insult her even when she was doing everything they asked. This kind of mental abuse only made her hide deeper within her character to the point where her real self barely ever came out.

When she had read about an Ad for AFW, she realized that it was a platform for her to show all of the bullies that she will be the complete darkness that is always watching them whenever they want to let the darkness inside their hearts take over their mind. Thus, she would join AFW which was easy for someone like Akemi who already basically had a wrestling personality established.
