Finishing Moves are silly
According to Brian Kendrick at least

3:11 - 3:34
Though it does bring up two questions, do you have a favourite move and does Kendrick have a point?

Kendrick would have a point... If Pro Wrestling wasnt meant to be entertainment.
In some cases he has a point... In some cases just doesnt have a clue.
I dont feel like giving examples about why I feel Kendrick is wrong. But I will say that Pro-Wrestling needs them for the fans and the entertainment value.
As for a finishing move... Stone Cold Stunner and Sharpshooter.

Re: Finishing Moves are silly
I'm 50/50. I'm not against them but I don't see them as something that should be required.
I will say though that the days if what is expected in a finisher has changed, like it has to be flashy a lot of times lately(not 100% true but it can seem like that at times). Back in say the 80s and 90s it didn't have to be. Jake Roberts dropping the DDT back (or anyone else) in the day meant something. Now someone does and it just has much impact as say a bodyslam.
I still can't accept Hogan's leg drop as something that be an impactful finishing move or entertaining for that matter, nor Rocky's people's elbow (at least he, most of the time, gives a fan a free elbow pad out of it). At least Randy Savage comes off the top rope and drives it down.
As for fav move, can't say I have one anymore. Over the past few years seen some really good ones (none of which were TNA/WWE done, indies) but I will give honourable mention to a move that should be noticed, and I'm sure Chris Jericho would agree:
ARMBAR!

Re: Finishing Moves are silly
This is a weird 1st or 2nd post or something, but there's a bit of a finishing move arms race these last few years. The steroid problem and the rise of indies leading to smaller more mobile people helps. Anyway, the idea is that you can't have every spot be a big huge move, so you build the match and tell the story and the finishing move would be the climax. What whatshisname is talking about is just stylistic.
But I like Cheerleader Melissa doing the Kudo Driver or Air Raid crash.
