Qi Lingxian vs Blaise Cameron

Standard match won via pinfall or submission



In the back Qi was getting ready for her tension in-ring debut, it had been a while since the young woman was in the ring. A couple of matches in friction to her name, although she was also interested in tension matches. Qi wasn't one to limit herself, not when new and potentially exciting chances arose for her. Every time she battled it was a chance to learn something new, even if the only thing she learned in defeat was that she had been defeated. Still Qi was optimistic about her career, she learned well from her parents in Beijing after all.

Her Brother Chuang Lingxian was to have his debut match here soon, and this had prompted Qi to dip her feet in. The fist of compassion was checking herself over in the back, she wasn't dressed in any fancy outfits. It was a pair of black jogging bottoms with red stripes at the side, a black sports bra with white T-shirt. Qi had considered buying a qipao for some flair, but she wasn't used to fighting in something like that. Better she stick to what she knows, remembering some old Chinese proverb her parents told her.

A stage hand told her it was time to make her entrance, Qi was waiting by the entrance ramp. Lightly biting her lower lip, although she didn't have time to entertain her thoughts any longer. As the beautiful Main theme of Jade Empire blared through the speakers. Qi marched forth into the arena, a smile on her face as she waved to the crowd. The fist of compassion then walked down the entrance ramp and rolled into the ring, walking to the far right corner and standing atop it. She then waved to several members of the crowd, and then put her fist to her palm and bowed ever so slightly to them. Qi then got off the turnbuckle and stood waiting for her opponent.

Weeeeell~

Blaise's introduction to Tension didn't go how he'd hoped. But he was happy to find that the ladies in the roster wouldn't be pushovers. They've got some real competitors! That means struggle, and that means growth! And in the case of his last match, it also means taking an icewater bath!

His torso was sore for days after that. His face didn't get the same treatment, but damn. Ow. Girl wasn't hyper-strong or anything, but she just kept drilling those fists in.

Anyway, that was then, and this is now! In typical Blaise fashion, once he got his next opponent's name, he just rolled with it. No research. That takes out half the fun of meeting them! Plus, he likes the idea of being surprised with how they look. So he's ready, ostensibly, for this match. To any onlookers backstage, the teen is absolutely pumped, bobbing on the balls of his feet.

Classic Kansas fills the stadium as his name is called to the tune of Carry On My Wayward Son - the song was picked for him in his old fed' as a point of irony. Blaise took it at face value and thought it was cool. And that much is written on his face when he explodes out of the backstage area, both fists pumped into the air with an enthusiastic smile. The audience isn't entirely sure how to react to him after his last showing, but if one were to look at him here tonight, they'd see no trace of doubt. Nothing less than pure, unadulterated passion for the fans and the sport itself. And soon, with some bobbing on his feet and nodding to encourage the audience to get into it more, the energy becomes infectious.

That's just how he likes it.

Blaise takes off at a full-on sprint for the ring and leaps at the last second, sliding dramatically on his knees beneath the bottom rope in an impressively limber backbend. He pops to his feet and turns to the audience again, arms held out to either side and fingers a-wiggle to continue drawing out the cheers. Of course, part of that might have to do with the fact that he's a trim, lean young man wearing only a pair of sapphire blue trunks and boots with black trim, leaving his toned chest and sleek abdominals bare, along with his streamlined biceps and thighs.

Finally, he turns to face his opponent with a playfully cocky little eyebrow-quirk and points at her. You know. Calling her out. Serious business.

It wasn't long before Qi's opponent for the evening came out, the martial artist was silent as he made his way out. He looked like a vibrant chap, with a lot of energy. That was something she could admire, after all Qi related to chi the natural energy. It wasn't the name she was born with, something the people in the orphanage gave her before being adopted.

Qi was doing some light stretching, keeping those limbs free to prevent any pulling. She was doing a series of small and minor workouts taught by her parents to her, and Qi and her Brother swore by it. The young woman wondered if her parents were watching, no doubt they'd be eager to see if she had improved since she left Beijing.

The fist of compassion gave a smile when Blaise pointed at her, it was an odd thing but Qi didn't mind. She took a few steps forth and put a fist into her palm, lightly bowing to her opponent.

"Hello! I am Qi Lingxian, pleased to meet you." she said. Her English could still do with a bit of work, she had TV to thank for that. But the fist of compassion was certain she got it right, Qi would wait to see if her opponent gave his name before settling into her stance. Left hand a fist, close to the navel. Her right hand a palm and put in front of her with the arm slightly bent, ready for the bell to ring and combat to begin.

As Qi steps forward, Blaise drops his hand bob-skips forward to meet her; a veritable bundle of energy. And this is finally the moment he takes to really look at who he'll be wrestling. Kind of middling height for a girl, dressed conservatively, but with a friendly face and huuuuge blue eyes. Kind'a cute! And look at her bow! It's adorable! So traditional! He can't help but smile brighter.

"Blaise!," he replies, running a hand through his hair. "Pleasure's mine! But you know I'm gonna have to get rough with ya. Try not to hold it against me!" The mirthful remark is punctuated with a wink.

She's assumed her stance and Blaise follows suit, though his is much more... typical of wrestling than hers. His legs spread for balance, hands lifting at the ready. She's going to do some kind of funky karate with him. That's what that stance means. He's seen enough Kung-Fu movies to know. So logically, he has to do something to take her off her game!

*DING!*

Blaise has run out of time to decide. His hands suddenly lash out at her, attempting to grab onto her shoulders to immediately seize control of her body. She was obviously not prepared for a lockup, so he isn't even going to bother trying for that. His plan is simply to try to ram a knee up into her stomach!

"I won't hold it against you, so long as you do the same." Qi said with a nod. Granted part and parcel of being a wrestler meant inflicting bodily and sometimes mental harm onto another person, but Qi was used to that. And always admired it when honour and respect was displayed, call her old fashioned.

The bell rung and the match was now underway, and Blaise wasn't wasting anytime in getting things started. He rushed right at him, just like something Chuang would have done. Her Brother was one for flash and speed, death of a thousand cuts sort of thing. Granted he was the faster out of the two, but Qi liked to think that patience was a virtue.

In the ring Blaise's sudden burst of speed had managed to catch Qi off guard, and he drove a knee right into the trained chest of the fist of compassion. It earned an audible wince from the martial artist, but the match had just begun. And Qi hoped to return the favour as she buckled over a wee bit, by firing out her left elbow into the gut of the energetic guy. If Blaise knew what Qi's main style was he might not want to get mixed up into battles of strikes and attrition.

But of course he doesn't! He did no research! But logically, she's a kung-fu gal. So getting into extended fisticuffs is a bad idea. Still, he has to start somewhere and soften her up! Not that he'd intended to nail her in the chest. Looks like he still has some getting used to when it comes to wrestling girls. Whoopsies.

That elbow fires back into Blaise's toned midsection, forcing him to fall back from her a step. "Nnf!" But the grimace from the hit soon dissolves into another smile. "Don't worry about me, sister!" And he comes back in without hesitation, again hoping to take her by surprise. He tries to hook his right arm between her legs, the left arm over her shoulders in an effort to sweep her off her feet, upend her, and bodyslam her down to the mat!

Qi wasn't too worried about her opponent, considering that they had just gotten started. If he landed head first outside the ring then that would be cause for concern, although the fist of compassion doubted that would happen. Least if things stayed clean.

The Beijing warrior was ready to try and deliver some more strikes, to try and work over Blaise's chest a little to get the ball rolling. But she didn't notice Blaise silently slinking his right arm between the legs of Qi, her eyes went wide and she was about to ask aloud what he was doing.

Only for Qi to be slung upwards, her vision going upside down. And then she was promptly slammed right into the centre of the ring, the pain shooting into her back. Qi groaned out and turned around onto her knees to face Blaise, one hand on her back to try and numb the pain.

Blaise straightens his back after landing the bodyslam to admire his work and come up with a followup. It feels like momentum's leaning on his side, and that's a rare, thrilling feeling. If he can keep it, he's got a shot at scoring the pinfall! The thought is an exciting one and just amps him up more.

When Qi moves onto her knees, Blaise flashes her a smile and takes off to the side. Boots hammer heavily against the mat, and the teen pivots to press his back against the ropes. From there, it's a quick launch forward and faster footfalls before he meets his Asian opponent again - though this time it's with a pair of boots aimed to slam against her body in a low dropkick!

Qi wasn't liking this, if Blaise was to keep this up then he could control the pace of the fight all the more easily. And that wasn't good, not good at all. In fact Blaise was reminding Qi more and more of Chuang, an inward groan was in the neck of the fist of compassion at this.

And her opponent wasn't wasting anytime in keeping up the offense, not good. Qi was an optimist but even she had to confess it wasn't going right for her at this point, it called for some quick options now. And so as Blaise rushed forth Qi stayed grounded, and brought her arms up as a sort of wall. Blaise's legs fired out right into them, and it earned a loud wince from Qi. Wasn't the worst hit she tanked with her arms, but still up there as the impact shook up and down her limbs making them feel a bit like jelly.

But this could be Qi's chance, she would be higher than Blaise at this point. And so Qi dug down and tried to get atop her opponent, to start raining down some blows onto his upper chest. Strikes were where Qi shined, and she needed to start applying them as quick as she could.

Boots hammer into the girl's arms and... wait, she doesn't fall? That realization is more surprising as anything, and Blaise's expression shows it. He finds himself quickly mounted and fists raining down against his chest. "Unf! Ghh!" His body twitches with each impact, his toned chest absorbing the blow. He's been in this kind of situation before - in his last match, in fact. But Amy was considerably more vicious about it, firing those punches directly into his face.

After a series of hits, the teen brings his arms in to cover himself, teeth gritting. He tries to buck his hips in hopes of throwing her off. His body has been conditioned for punishment, receiving far, far more than his fair share. But that doesn't exactly mean this is an acceptable situation to be in! "Get.. off.. me!" He chances swiping a hand out, hoping to tag the girl on the side of the head.
