Circling The Drain

"I've gotten that speech before. I know its not the "right" way to do it, but I feel like I just don't give a damn anymore." Charlie said as he cocked his head at Clydes request.

Charlie was a little bit on guard now. What was Clyde trying to do? "If ya want a sip... sure. That is whatcha want this for, right?" Charlie asked, cautiously ready to hand over his whiskey soda...

Clyde frowned deeply when Charlie called him out on a speech. Clyde wanted to be helpful, not preachy. But he understood how Charlie had felt, his other half was gone, of course he didn't care anymore.

"Yup." Clyde would say with a nod before taking the soda can away from Charlie.

For a moment he contemplated drinking it, recalling the last time he had gotten drunk, he tried to stupidly make it with Jocelyn and failed to backup his sister and Mercy. He always did stupid things when he was drunk. He didn't even want a sip anymore.

But he took another look at Charlie, frowned and turned around, eying a trash can before quickly going over to it and tossing the can inside.

"Man.. what the hell?!" Charlie growled at Clyde as he dumped Charlie's booze. "That was a dick move dude. Like... who does that?" He said as he got in Clydes face, stumbling forward to shove him!

"Why can't people just leave me the fuck alone?" Charlie wondered out loud, not really talking to anyone in particular as he shook his head.

"I wonder if I did the right thing...?" Clyde thought. He could do dick things because he was already a dick and if he kept Charlie from hurting himself it would be worth it anyway! He turned around just in time to see the livest Charlie he had thus far seen and got shoved by the drunken high flyer! Making him stumble back until he caught himself, eyeing the guy with slight annoyance.

"Ya can't drink and train, man!" He growled back at the guy. "Yer gon' get hurt!"

"Ohhhhhhhhhhh, shit!"

Zak had to take a step back to avoid Clyde as he stumbled back from the shove. He held up his hands and cracked a smile. "Man, it's goin' down in the gym!" He laughed. "You guys just fight other dudes in here? That's not cool, yo."

He had a bounce in his stride as he entered the gym with neon confidence. His compact (short), muscular body would have been more impressive were he not even shorter than the two already short guys in front of him. His long braid ran down the back of his open-sided tank top and nearly reached the waist of his navy, white and red Washington Wizards shorts. He glanced around the gym and looked back at Clyde and Charlie.

"What's up with you?"

"Who the fuck are you to tell me what to do huh?!" Charlie growled at Clyde, fixing a look of alcohol fueled anger at the cowboy.

Amidst all this, Charlie heard a voice from elsewhere addressing them. "The hell?" He said, looking around until he saw a cocky young man bouncing around. "When did the peanut gallery get involved shortstack?" Charlie asked Zak, looking confused as to why the punk decided to butt in.

Clyde narrowed his eyes and grit his teeth as Charlie snapped at him. He knew he was drunk, but still!

"The motherfucker who's tryin' ta' save yer drunk ass!" Clyde shot back before, a short, long haired asian dude just showed up out of the blue and obnoxiously jumped into the fray.

"Ain't nobody fightin', friend." Clyde assured him firmly while eying the guy up, noting that he was actually taller than both of the other dudes! For once he felt a little tall. Just a little. Still, the Asian dude was pretty ripped for his stature, Clyde had to give props to this eager sumgun.

"Ohhh ain't nuthin' up with me, friend. You'll have to forgive Chuck. He ain't his-self right now." Clyde said, despite not even knowing what real Charlie was really like. "Be nice, Chuck." He added, beaming with a pleasant smile in front of the two. Confident violence could be avoided.

Zak cocked an eyebrow at Charlie. "Yo, take it easy, bro."

He shrugged at Clyde. "Yeah, okay." He turned to look at the sizable gym, but... He didn't know where to start. It was like the first day of school times a thousand. He was confident, sure, but... Really, he just wanted to know where they kept all the girls.

He started to walk out into the gym to get his workout started, but he hung back. "So..." He said, and sort of turned back to Clyde and Charlie. "You guys are wrestlers and stuff?"

Charlie paused, thinking long and hard about Zaks question. Was he a wrestler? At one time he sure was. He knew he'd be a match for anybody. No one could out maneuver him, and slower people couldn't get their hands on him or so he felt.

That just wasn't Charlie anymore. "Yeah, at least I try to be ya know?" He said with a shrug. "Sorry for the temper.... just chalk it up to a rough day." Charlie added to Zak. He sure as hell didn't want to put up with any more shit especially from people he just met, no matter how well meaning they may have been. However even drunk Charlie knew getting pissed off and swinging at two people at once was a horrible idea... one that wouldn't end well for him whatsoever.

For now Charlie kept it as cool and mellow as he could. "How about you kid? Are you on the roster too?"

Clyde raised his brow towards Zak. "Yup." What else could they be but wrestlers!? The cowboy doubted this newbie even knew who he was. Whatever, this guy was weird.

Clyde found himself surprised by Charlie's sudden apology to Zak from out of nowhere. Where did this come from and why wasn't this directed at the guy trying to keep his drunk-self from doing something dumb!?

"Please tell me, whatshisname's gotten you sober." Clyde said to Charlie before looking at Zak, as if expecting a name. He looked a little familiar.
