Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela - Page 3 Empty Re: Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela

It wasn't easy, carrying someone who ways as much as you do from the ground. Her muscles silently scream as she hauls Kyo and herself upright in time with her own cry. But she did it. The crowd had started to get behind Kyo for a moment there, so she isn't surprised to hear a few boos coming her way. But she is surprised that a fair number of people cheer as she sets herself up. The ring shakes as Kara and Kyo crash down together, but this time it isn't Kara on the receiving end.

She would let out a whoop or stood up to cheer if she could. But even though the match had barley gotten started her breath's ragged and her entire body is covered in sweat. Usually it take a little while into the match to get her this tired. So she just got up on her hands and knees.

'Come on get your wind back, you aren't done yet,' she thinks to herself. 'But first thing's first.'

She looks down at Kyo, laid out under neath her, in a not at all inviting position. The thought to pin him down crosses her mind, for a more than one reason. But she knows his type, too determined to stay down after a few good hits. So she'll need a more than a few good hits.

"D-do me a favor, s-stay down," she huffs at Kyo between breaths.

Without another word she'll try to drive her elbow into his abdomen to drive the wind and the fight out of him for a moment.

Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela - Page 3 Empty Re: Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela

Kyo took several deep, ragged breaths, momentarily aware only of the throbbing impact pain in his spine and Kara's own ragged breath against his chest. Momentarily, though, he felt his opponent slide off of him, allowing his chest to rise and fall as he sucked in air without Kara's weight against it. He opened one eye, just as Kara huffed an irritated comment over him as she knelt over him.

He was about to say that he would, regrettably, have to deny her this favour, but he never got the chance. Kara's elbow descended, jackhammering into his chest and causing his legs to kick up. "OOOPH!" he gasped, the blow sending him rolling onto his side and clutching his chest, momentarily winded and vulnerable...

Kara drives her elbow straight into Kyo's chest drawing the wind from his lungs. She winced a bit at his reaction as he nearly balls himself around his chest, but her bruises tempers her empathy a little.

She stands up, catching her breath for a moment before she looks over Kyo.

She considered letting him get back up but she drops the thought as soon as it came up. He's skilled and fast enough to avoid her big hits and without them she isn't winning this fight. Fair or not he's not going to be resisting, now's a chance for big move to actually hit. That and she can show off some of her technical skill off, beyond lifting someone and falling over.

She spares a look over her shoulder to where she figures Vita and Rian are siting and throws a thumbs up. A few people in the crowd who recognize the gesture makes the ambient noise raise a little.

She runs to the farthest ropes throwing her weight against them before snapping forward towards Kyo's downed formed. Just before she reaches him she'll try to slide into Kyo like a baseball player sliding home aiming to drive her boots into Kyo's back.

Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela - Page 3 Empty Re: Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela

Kyo sucked in air through clenched teeth, gingerly fighting off the hurt as he rolled up onto his side. It was inevitable, really-- sooner or later Kara was going to get a hit in, and the fact that she'd landed two in combination meant that she was better than he'd first estimated, or he'd let his guard down. Either way, he was now in a pretty bad position.

A bad position that quickly got worse. Even as he rolled up onto his shoulders and knees, he saw Kara come running at him. Alarmed, he spun, aiming to bring his arm up to block, but was a fraction of a second too late-- Kara's booted feet slammed against his abs, causing him to cry out sharply in pain as he was sent rolling further. Breathing hard, he lashed out with an arm and snagged a rope to arrest his roll, but that didn't change the fact that his ribs were now hurting like hell. Kara wasn't letting him up or giving him time to recover.

She's taking me seriously, Kyo thought, almost smiling at the realization. As much as he wanted a sportsmanlike match, this meant that he wouldn't have to hold back against her either.

Kara almost panics when she sees Kyo turn but her boots come in too
fast for Kyo to properly block them and they sink into his abs. Hard
enough to send him tumbling to the edge of the ring. Kara stands back up and looks toward Kyo, who's holding onto the bottom rope. She has to admit he takes hits as well as she does, which means that she has her work cut out for her. And it means she can't let up.

She considers just charging him, try another kick to kick him straight out of the ring. But she doubts the same attack will work twice, and besides she needs to catch her breath for a moment.

Instead she waits, giving herself enough time to catch her breath and for Kyo to get up. Once Kyo's on his feet she'll take off running towards him and try to drive her knee into his stomach.

As Kyo grabbed a hold of the rope, he braced himself, waiting for a follow-up attack from Kara, a brutal kick to his exposed back. Such an attack never came-- for whatever reason, Kara was keeping her distance, giving Kyo the time he needed to get back to his feet. Even though the new girl was pulling no punches, Kyo realized, she was still being a good sport. He smiled inwardly, once again grateful to be fighting a decent opponent...though he wasn't sure that giving him time to recover was the smartest move.

As he finally pushed himself up to his feet, he heard the rumble of boots, and turned in time to see Kara thundering towards him. No lockup this time, just a sudden, rushing attack. Kyo sprang sideways, hoping to avoid Kara's knee strike-- if he failed to move fast enough, Kara's knee would slam against his midsection and knock him, winded, into the ropes, but hopefully he would be fast enough to spin behind the charging Kara, wrap his arms around her waist and lift her back in a surprise suplex pin.

Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela - Page 3 Empty Re: Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela

Kara watches as Kyo gets to his feet, and the moment he's up she takes off. She crosses the ring in a blur, all she sees is Kyo. She pulls up her knee, finding its Kyo shaped target.

'Wait no that's just air,' she thinks to herself as she keeps on flying, no belly to stop her flight.

She lands in a tangle on the ropes and has enough time to get lose before Kyo slips behind her again. She would have turned around to face him if his arms didn't wrap around her stomach. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what comes next. Kyo lifts her off the ground and for the second time in the match she's flung backwards.

'No, no, no, n-!' her line of thought stops dead in its tracks as her back hits the mat sending a wave of pain runs up and down her spine.

Her mind's so out of it she doesn't notice Kyo's holding her down for the pin. All she wonders is why the referee is so close to them. And why is she slapping the mat?

"1"

Kara's eyes widen as she realizes what's going on and a millisecond before the referee gets to a two Kara twists sideways, breaking the pin. But her back aches too much for her to do much more than slowly try to stand up.

Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela - Page 3 Empty Re: Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela

Kyo clenched his teeth as he arched back, his cheek pressed against Kara's blue-clad back as he kept his arms wrapped tightly around her waist. He heard the count reach one...and then, with a sharp twist, Kara turned her body to get a shoulder off the mat just in time. He released her in that instant, the movement sending him tumbling down to his hands and knees as Kara slumped onto her side next to him.

In the background, the audience applauded politely at the new girl's escape. Win or lose, she's made if if she wins the heart of the crowd, Kyo thought to himself. As he pushed himself up to his knees, though, Kara was already pushing herself up as well. Wordlessly, he cupped his hands, aiming to slam an axe-handle onto her exposed back, for no other reason than to keep her down for a bit. If that did the trick, then he would straddle her back, grab one of her booted legs, and wrench it back in a single leg boston crab.

Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela - Page 3 Empty Re: Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela

Kara had gotten up to her knees when something hard hits her back. She collapses with a barely a grunt of pain, not enough breath to scream. Not enough breath to get up again either.

So she stayed down for a minute, too tired to get up. She knows Kyo will try something, but she's nothing if not determined. She figures she can handle whatever Kyo might try long enough for her to catch her breath. What she doesn't expect was for him to sit on her back and for one of her legs to be pulled into really uncomfortable angle.

For all the things she is, Kara has never been exceptionally flexible and the hold sends jabs of pain down her back. She presses her lips tight together, and takes a deep breath. No way she'll give a Kyo a scream, no need to encourage him to put on the pressure.

She doesn't have any leverage from here, but better to try something that lay there and take it. Kara will try to swing her arm backwards, try to catch Kyo's leg or arm or anything and pull him off of her.

Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela - Page 3 Empty Re: Kyo Akamatsu Vs. Kara Vela

Kyo held his breath as he locked in the half-crab. Given that Kara was still fairly new to the league, what she probably didn't know was that while Kyo was an experienced all-rounder, his specialty was in technical wrestling-- grappling, throws, and submissions. Kara was resisting well so far, and holding back on a cry of pain, and Kyo had to admire her tenacity...but he was just getting started with her.

He didn't expect her to take the hold lying down, and he was right-- her arms flailed back, grabbing a hold of the crook of his arm and pulling. He gave an annoyed grunt, and tried to yank his arm free. If he managed that, then he would waste no time in torquing the hold further-- pulling Kara's leg up with both hands and draping it across his shoulders, aiming to bend Kara further almost into a C-shape.

On the other hand, if he failed to shake Kara, then he would find himself being pulled sideways. Annoyed, his reflexes would nonetheless take over, and he'd retain his grip on Kara's leg as he fell to his side, trying to snap his legs up around the trapped limb and bend at her booted foot as he tried to switch to a legbar submission.

Either way, if he managed either hold, then his question to Kara would be the same. "Give up yet?"
