Souko Kawamoto Vs Rainbow Mika - Standard Match

Souko:

Souko had done her best to try and forget about what had happened against Kyoko in her debut. It hadn’t exactly gone how she had planned. But now was a fresh fight, and a fresh fight meant a new chance to impress. Sadly it seemed that things were not going to go exactly to plan with this one as Souko had been matched against Rainbow Mika. That presented a huge problem. She had a lot of fighting experience and she had a fairly good AFW record of her own.

Backstage Souko would make the motions, stretching her limbs and trying to calm her mind. Minutes later she would get the signal to go as her theme began to roar out of the speakers. This was her second entrance so she had not exactly gotten it down to an art form yet, looking happy and somewhat bouncy as she made her way down the ramp and up into the ring.

This match was going to different from everything else that she had done so far. Kyoko was a striker and the match had gone between many different strikes and the odd hold, there was also a lot of fighting with weapons and out of the ring fighting. This time though, Souko got the feeling this match was going to be different, more about holds and throws and such. While Souko wasn’t against that sort of match, she was a bit rusty on a lot of her holds, so this was going to add another hindrance between her and victory. She didn’t doubt that Mika was not going to use strikes, but it wasn’t going to be her main weapon. Maybe then, Souko could exploit it. She had Mika pinned down as a high flying submissionist like her, and if that was the case then Souko was going to be outclassed. To win here she was going to need a new angle.

But that was enough thinking, yet again Souko had been rapidly overthinking things and time had passed her by. It was time for Mika to enter the ring, so with that she would stride over to her corner and wait for Mika’s music to start and for opponent to enter. Trying to not give away in her facial expressions or body language that she was concerned about the match.

Souko didn't have to wait long. A minute after she had settled into the ring, a vibrant and energetic theme began to play over the intercom. The fans erupted into cheers and applause then, as the Rainbow Warrior strode into the ring.

Mika was bursting with excitement as she entered the ring, leaping from side to side as she waved and winked to fans, slapped hands, and posed dramatically. Next to her, however, strode another familiar face, one whom those familiar with Mika's career recognized instantly as Mika's former tag partner, Yamato Nadeshiko. The woman was stern where Mika was bubbly, frowning where Mika was smiling, and dressed conservatively whereas Mika's outfit was almost silly in its sex appeal. But all the same, it sent fans into shrieks of ecstasy to see these two women accompanying one another again.

"Glad you could make it this time, Nadeshiko-oneesan," Mika whispered to Nadeshiko as they made their way to the ring.

Nadeshiko sighed. She hated it when Mika called her that, although truth to be told, she had missed her old tag partner. "I'm just happy to be in a league again," she whispered back. "Anyway, I've heard that this is a new girl you're fighting, so..."

"Go easy on her? Yeah yeah, I won't pummel her too badly," Mika scoffed with a smile.

"No." It was Nadeshiko's turn to give her partner a slight grin. "I was going to say, don't underestimate her...because I can't bail you out this time."

Mika flashed her partner an annoyed look, and stuck her tongue out at her as they reached the ring. Rolling into the ring, Mika acrobatically leapt to the top rope and made a heroic gesture to the fans, before backflipped down and turning to face Souko. The other girl looked like she had a height and strength advantage-- definitely not an easy opponent, physically. Still, that was no reason for Mika not to be polite.

"Hi! I am the defender of justice and guardian of the ring, Rainbow Mika!" She flashed a heroic pose, before stopping after a few minutes of awkward silence. "And, um...who are you?"

The way that Mika ran down the ramp and into the ring confirmed exactly what Souko was thinking. Mika was a high speed, hyperactive, high flying wrestler who was going to make life fairly hard for Souko. She was however shocked when she noticed that someone else had come down the ramp with her. While she wasn't entirely convinced that this woman wouldn't get involved, she knew that at the very least it would cost Mika the match if she did. Watching Mika jump around and speak, Souko couldn't help but thing she was in some sort of cartoon.

"Name's Souko. And that is a rather high and mighty title to give yourself. You sure that you can leave up to that name?"

Sure Souko had the height and weight advantage, but Souko was a high flying submissionist herself. Speed was usually the order of the day, and Mika was going to most certainly have her outclassed in that respect. It seemed Souko was going to have to change her style somewhat. The ref was very quick to get the match underway, the bell going off just seconds after Souko had finished speaking. Most people would star the match off with a test of strength, but Souko knew that while she would win that, it would give Mika a good chance to counter. For now she needed to test Mika's rhythm, see how easy it would be to throw her off it.

She would spent a second circling Mika, but would then rush in to get the attacks under way. She would start by thrusting her elbow out, trying to impact Mika in the ribs. The impact wasn't very powerful, the attack was designed to be rapid and stun rather than posses any level of potency. The attack simply served as a set up for what Souko really wanted to do. If it worked Souko would grab onto Mika's hair, pulling her head down and wrapping her arm around her neck. Once Souko was happy the lock was tight, she would jump backwards, lifting herself and Mika off the ground slightly and brining Mika down face first into the mat with a Impaler DDT.

Souko didn't seem too impressed by Mika's introduction, a fact that made the Rainbow Warrior frown. Souko seemed to be the strong serious type who didn't go for gimmicks in the ring, who preferred action to conversation. She and Nadeshiko would have gotten along just fine, Mika thought to herself.

As the bell rang, Mika hopped lightly on her feet, watching Souko carefully. The other girl seemed very confident in her movements, and Mika's guess was that she was going to be relying a lot on her upper body strength for power moves and slams. Just like Zanghief-sama, Mika thought almost dreamily to herself. As strong as Souko was, Mika wasn't one for turning down a challenge. Grinning at the other girl, she raised her hands, motioning for a lockup.

Instead, however, Souko lunged in, lashing out with an elbow. Yelping in surprise, Mika reacted quickly, barely managing to bring up an arm in time to block. Too late, she discovered that was just a feint, as her pigtail was yanked and her head was pulled under Souko's armpit. "Tch..." she growled, grabbing at one of Souko's wrists and twisting, dropping back in the hopes of flipping the other girl off of her. That worked, then she would try to get behind Souko with a classic chickenwing hammerlock.

The best way to deal with Mikanwas going to be by making sure she couldn't escape anywhere. That was going to be tricky, but if she could do it, the match would be a breeze. Sadly, Souko had underestimated Mika's speed. The elbow that was supposed to daze Mika failed as she managed to block it and to make matters worse Mila had managed to get her hands on Soulos wrists.

She hissed as Mika twisted her wrists,along it more and more uncomfrotable to maintain the hold. Before Souko could even attempt to do her move, Mika had reversed the attack and flipped her onto the mat. There was a echoing thud when Mika hit the canvas. There was a brief moment when the crowd went estatic, clearly quite happy seeing such a high level of reversals and attacks going on. Souko though was stunned and before she could react Mika had grabbed her and got her into a painful chicken wing hammerlock and Souko grunted and groaned. Her wrestling prowess had run out, never actually seeing thiskve been used before, left her struggling to find a way to escape and leaving her entirly at Mika's mercy

Mika gave a slight smile of satisfaction as she got Souko pinned to the mat in a hammerlock, countering the girl's early strikes and leaving her trapped and vulnerable. From here, Mika could easily have folded Souko over like origami, but she wanted to make a proper match out of this and give the new girl a chance. "Sorry," she said, leaning down to whisper in Souko's ear, "but you're going to have to do better than that."

Yanking Souko up by the arm, Mika would whip her opponent towards the ropes. As Souko bounced back, Mika would drop low, hopefully avoiding any counter Souko had in mind and cartwheeling past her, before leaping up and hopefully nailing Souko with a spin kick!

Souko was hurting. The hold was tugging away at her, draining her endurance. Mika's words did anger Souko, the fact she whispered it didn't help either. Unfortunately for Souko didn't have a plan. Or any for of resistance. She got flung across the ring, Souko tried to slow down, giving her time to break the whip. Despite her attempt to slow down, it ultimately failed and she came flying back towards Mika.

Souko focused and tried to grab Mika as she came back, only to find Mika had vanished. Before Souko could do something, She felt something smash into the back of the head. She yelped as the force from being hit and the force of the Irish whip caused her to smash down into the canvas again. She took a deep breath and rolled over onto her back. Right now she was in pain and vulnerable. And to make matters worse she hadn't even landed a hit of her own.

Already, Mika's natural agility was coming into play against this newcomer as she managed to effortlessly avoid a clothesline, before somersaulting and kicking her opponent down. Landing on her feet, Mika smiled and raised her fingers in a V-sign to her fans, causing them to cheer. She wasn't done yet, though: Souko was about to find that Mika was just getting started.

Wordlessly, Mika slapped both of her butt cheeks. In the sidelines, Nadeshiko groaned. "Really, Mika? This again?" she grumbled, as her tag partner suddenly backflipped, aiming to slam her ass down hard on the prone Souko!

This match really was not going Souko's way. Losing to Kyoko before was bad enough, but these events today were practical an insult to her ability. It really did seem as f Mika had the speed advantage on this one, and Souko was going to have to find some way to either break it, or slow her down. Right now though. It was all about recovering. For some strange reason, Mika had slapped her butt cheeks, and seemed to be preparing something. Souko didn't plan on staying around to find out what though, she quickly rolled out of the way, since Mika had her back turned to her, letting Mika backflip and go butt first into the canvas.

"Heh, serves you right for getting cocky" Souko would cough out as she watched Mika hit the canvas. But now was not the time for taunts. Souko began to climb up onto her feet, first onto all fours and then up and into position. There were many a thing a person could do now, but Souko wanted to keep it simple, she would walk upto the rainbow wrestler and lash out with her feet, trying to kick the girl in the face and get her down onto the mat properly.

Mika had thought that Souko was stunned enough for her to literally get the drop on her, and then hopefully roll her up for a pin. Whether it was due to Souko being tougher than she looked, or due to Mika taking too long to prepare, the new girl managed to roll away in time. Mika's eyes widened behind her mask before her butt collided hard with the mat, sending pain shooting up her tailbone. "Ah!"

Wincing, she clutched her hurting butt, even as she saw Souko slowly getting up to all fours. As she tried to get up herself, Souko was already on her feet, lashing out with a kick. Mika would try to block the kick, aiming to spin backwards to her feet...though if she wasn't fast enough, then she would take the kick to the face and be left stunned and groaning on her back.
