Strategy: While she isn’t the biggest wrestler around, Samiya has learnt how to deal with that. For someone her size, her power is insane and she can outmuscle far bigger opponents while her speed and technique is impressive as well. Her game plan tends to focus on exhausting her opponent with an array of submission holds and pins until they either tap or are too gassed out to avoid the three count.

Strength: ★★★★★ - While she might be small, years of powerlifting and other activities have left Samiya a stocky powerhouse who can bring amazing strength to bear.
Speed: ★★★ - Not as quick and agile as most her size, the Schoolgirl Assassin can achieve impressive bursts of both.
Defence: ★★★ - Samiya's submission defence is excellent and she's no slouch on her feet. Unfortunately, she's less able against strikers.
Technique: ★★★★ - For a young woman just out of her teens, Samiya's technique is superb.

Finishing moves:

Storm Surge – A mounted reverse triangle hold, Samiya essentially smothers her opponent with her taut backside while simultaneously choking them with her thighs. This can also be applied with her in a handstand/pushup position or on her side, where her calf pulls their face into her butt for the smother. One particularly brutal version, which she calls the Cyclone, follows directly on from a hurricanrana.

Vortex – A dragon sleeper and bodyscissors, often applied to an opponent when they're standing or kneeling. This is a multi-purpose finisher which Samiya has proven able to snap on almost out of nowhere, jumping off the mat or from the turnbuckle or reversing a slam into it. But, given her skill and power, the Schoolgirl Assassin has proven herself able to break substantially larger opponents with it once cinched in.

Tsunami - Samiya goes into a handstand in front of a standing or kneeling opponent (depending on their height), clamping her legs around their neck for a headscissors while facing away. The position allows her to use her whole body as a lever, with the full immense force of her thighs and glutes applied to her opponent's neck. It's almost guaranteed to drop the recipient to the mat in seconds - a rapid escape is vital if a rapid tap isn't to follow.

Physical Appearance:
Samiya's right arm is covered with a sleeve tattoo of swirling occult designs and she has a second tattoo on her right thigh, this one of a jagged tribal sun. She wears her hair long and dyed a dark purple, lending her a sinister mystique. Overall, she is short and stocky of build with thick biceps and thicker thighs. Her physique is strong and taut, impressively so for her age.

Personality:
If asked to describe her in one word, most of Samiya’s classmates would have plumped squarely for ‘driven’. Even as a young girl, Samiya has been relentlessly goal orientated – if she wants something, she goes for it. Her father raised her to be a hard worker, something she maintains to this day, and she has always resented anyone who she views as getting something ‘free’.

Despite being young and pretty new to the game, Samiya’s best asset as a wrestler isn’t so much her unconventional offence as her near-instinctive grasp of in-ring psychology. She’s surprisingly good at getting inside her opponents’ heads, playing mind games with them inside the ring and out, preying on insecurities or provoking them until they make a mistake she can capitalise on.

Samiya is also incredibly bitter, a young woman dedicated to exposing the hypocrisy of those who the crowd views as heroes. Her goal is to make them better, make them worthy of the worship of the fans, and her method is to put them through the crucible. If they come out the other side, they’re made better for it, their impurities burnt away by the fires of pain. And, if not, well then clearly they deserved what she did to them.

She’s the worst sort of idealist: the disappointed idealist whose dreams have been trampled.

In the ring, she’s a typical snarky, charismatic and sadistic heel out to set the world afire. Samiya almost seems to thrive on the crowd’s reaction – it doesn’t matter if they’re booing her or cheering her, it puts a fire in her eyes and a spring in her step.

But there are definitely hidden depths to her. She’s loyal and polite, kind in her own way to those she thinks need it. That said, perhaps her least attractive personality trait is her tendency to nurse grudges until she feels she’s repaid them with added interest.

Past/History:
Twenty or so years ago, a Japanese wrestler by the name of Asami Kusanagi decided she needed some time off.

So she took a break and travelled the United States. Feeling lonely, the young woman found herself in a relationship with a doctor a little her senior, an immigrant from Cuba who understood her loneliness. After all, he’d had to leave his family behind too.

One day, she found herself pregnant. Unwilling to have an abortion and unwilling also to jeopardise her burgeoning career, she chose to leave her daughter with the father to raise before she returned to Japan.

Samiya Inessa Pedroza thus had to grow up with the triple black mark of being a foreign-born bastard with a single father. Any one of those would be a hard burden for a child to bear but the young Samiya found a sharp pride in it instead – she was different. She was special.

She was going to be a wrestler, like the mother she’d never known.

Basically, from the moment Samiya knew anything about her mother, she knew that she too was going to be a great wrestler. She was going to be the best wrestler in the world, she was going to reunite with her mother and find out just how proud her mother was of her long lost daughter.

And it was basically sheer determination that powered her. Samiya was resolved and no amount of reality or negativity was going to persuade her otherwise. From an early age, she persuaded her dad to let her join a local club which led to her being on her high school team. She was on the athletics team too, did gymnastics, weight-lifting and was heavily into eating properly, working out and anything else that’d help her achieve her dreams.

She worked hard, year in and year out. Once high school was done, it was off to wrestling school, funded by nights spent pole dancing (though that had its own perks). Samiya wasn’t the biggest there or the most experienced, but her dedication saw her claw her way to the front of the class. Her habit of reading her father’s books gave her a head start when it came to submission holds, she had a good head for in ring psychology and a slick in-ring style that lent itself to crowd approval. Soon enough, she'd earned herself a nickname - the Schoolgirl Assassin, named for her habit of studious nature, her lethal ring skills and absolutely not punning on a certain famous American wrestler's one.

And she was good enough to find herself on the fast track to one of the feeder federations for AFW. And, as it happened, one of the trainers was her mother.

The stage was set for the reunion she’d been longing for. Instead, Samiya found only heartbreak. It didn’t go well, let alone how she’d imagined it. Her mother was now married to someone else and wasn’t interested in the bastard daughter she’d forgotten she had, certainly not at the cost of the happy family she’d built in Japan.

And worst of all, she’d already replaced Samiya. She'd already found a new protege.

The very next night Samiya had her biggest match so far and, with her mind all over the place, she got her ass kicked. Badly. And the other woman kept on at her after the bell rang, until the refs eventually separated them. For someone who’d made a point of running out to help anyone else in that position, it was a bitter pill to wake up and find nobody had done it for her.

Forced to take a week off to recover, Samiya spent a lot of time brooding on the unfairness of it all. The crowd as willing to cheer her destruction as her victory. The ‘heroes’ who didn’t save her. The mother who didn’t want to know her. Her replacement.

When she came back, she’d very definitely changed.

New look. New style. New Samiya.

Now she went after the ‘faces’ of the company. Not the big names, but the ones who claimed things she didn’t think they’d earnt. She played mind games, went after their friends and even family members if she thought she could get away with it, made their lives a living hell. There weren’t any heroes in the world and she was going to prove it, even if that meant tearing down every popular wrestler in the promotion.

Funnily enough, her win rate improved. Drastically.

One particularly impressive match saw her offered a contract for AFW. Samiya immediately accepted.

- Samiya is fluent in English, Japanese and Spanish.
- Given her nature, Samiya has never been in a relationship.
- Her actual surname is Pedroza, but she goes by her mother’s name purely out of spite.
- Samiya is incredibly close to her father. He’s the only person who calls her Sammie to this day. Her recent changes have saddened him but he continues to support her despite that.
- Her hobbies include singing, swimming and learning to fight with a bo staff.
