Type: Powerhouse Grappler

Strategy: Scarlet prefers to make use of her brute strength to overpower her opponents at every turn, and make sure they know just how strong she is compared to them. She is often times chatty, and enjoys giving her opposition a ribbing when possible. While her focus is always to win, she tries to put on a show for the crowd regardless of how mismatched it may be. This doesn't however means she will go easy, sometimes it means she will brutalize her opponent until they are unable to compete any further. Larger in both size and weight, she will always use this to her advantage to pin, press or slam her opponents.

When she is feeling particularly adamant about demolishing her opposition she will take to the top ropes, making herself into a devastating wrecking ball with aerial moves generally not seen from someone her size. While capable of making use of submissions, she normally just uses them as a go between moves, wearing her opponents down for something larger. She will rarely if ever push to finish a match with a submission, preferring instead to win via pinfall or KO.

Hempen Halter: Scarlet with wrap her hands around the throat of her victim and lift them high into the air to choke them out. She is able to convert this to a sit-out choke slam to force a pinning condition if needed.

Keelhaul: Scarlet strikes her palm into her opponents face, slamming them to the mat. She then either keeps hold of their head in the palm of her hand or grabs them by the hair depending on their size, and drags them to the turnbuckle to set them up in a tree of woe for additional punishment.

Blimey Buster: She captures her opponent's head between her legs from a standing position. She then lifts them up, holding onto their thighs to keep them in a small package hold hold before delivering a sitout piledriver.

Black Spot: With her opponent draped across her shoulders, she tilts them sideways to drive them head and neck into the mat for a devastating rendition of a Burning Hammer. She almost always pairs this with using a torture rack first to soften up her foes before seeking to end the match with this.

Personality: A firm believer in old school values, Scarlet came up on the idea of embracing one's gimmick and making it part of their life. Within a year of dawning her pirate attire she had legally changed her name and became who she is here today.  Unapologetic loud and rambunctious she does and says what she wants because really, who is going to stop her? Blunt to a fault, her unwillingness to coddle people's emotions tends to make more sensitive souls dislike her, while others may find her frank honesty to be endearing. Wise enough to know her limits, bold enough to face just about any challenge, and devoted enough to never break character. She is always seeking to challenge herself and others, wanting to make sure the people who inherit the business after she is gone are worth their salt. She prefers to keep things light, and is rarely serious unless put up against something that requires her full attention. She indulges often in pleasures of all sorts be it a pint at the bar or the company of any man or woman she fancies.


Past/History:
A third generation wrestler of pure blood Irish ruffians. Her family, including her extended family has been so involved in this business within the UK they are considered a wrestling dynasty. While her grandfather has passed away and father is retired, she has countless numbers of family members still as active competitors or behind the scene workers in promotions throughout the world. This business pumps through her blood, and she wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Signed to her first promotion, she was no shortage of headaches for her employers. Shoveled the name "The Irish Rose" they wanted for her to be classy and elegant, a baroness gimmick, a heel a coward. She was willing to have none of that however, and despite being billed under that name she ignored all of the direction she was given. Time after time, through warnings and threats. The issue was, as much as they hated it, the fans loved it. She was by in far the largest woman on the roster, overshadowing every other smaller woman and easily able to put the weaker women away, it was hardly a challenge for her in her youth. The women division, meant to be a side attraction soon rose in popularity due to people wanting to see the next great victory for The Irish Rose. The the owners started to receive push back from male talent with the slow but subtle changes to the programming, removing the women segments from openers to closers in their shows to draw in more of a crowd.

Having run through the entire locker room of female talent, and the mounting tension in the back, the choice was made to allow for intergender matches. Finally the male locker room had what they wanted, a chance to take the Irish Rose down a peg, to put her where she belonged. While far more formidable than her previous competitors, one by one she managed to put each and every member of the promotion down before ultimately ending up in talks for a title shot. It was here the seedy dealings of the profession crept in, as she was asked to lose. Upon refusal she was offered a larger and larger payout after each refusal. Finally, she told them she would consider it. A week later when the big day had come, The Irish Rose was nowhere to be found. In her stay was Scarlet Farley, The Crimson Helmsman. Having completely rebranded herself, making her intention known she was here to plunder their gold, by any means necessary. Despite efforts to swindle her from a win with rampant cheating, outside blatant outside interference she came away on top. She left the promotion, and with her took their title.

Lost at sea with what to do with herself after blacklisting herself from her former employers, she saw fit to carve away a slice of the industry with doubling down on her new persona. She embraced it fully, never leaving home unless dressed completely in character until it became who she was. She devised a plan to take the world by storm, and set it into motion. From promotion to promotion she went, offering her services for cheap. There was however one condition, she wouldn't be required to face someone she had defeated, and if she managed to defeat their champion to claim their most prestigious title, she would be released from the contract. With that she would take their belt, unless they payed her "ransom" which was a large prize pot discussed at signing. Some promotions allowed her a straight run, while others attempted to milk her growing popularity by throwing every single person they could her way. Eventually she pillaged every promotion she had set anchor in. First in the UK, then around the world. Her raids were a widely talked about and anticipated occurrence by fans, and whispered in dread by members of the wrestling community.

Over time the promotions she was able to raid thinned, larger companies outright refusing to parley with her. It was then she was approached by a business group looking to invest in making a new promotion, one that catered towards historical and fantasy themed wrestling specifically. They wanted her to be their star performer. With few options left, she agreed and Cutlass Wrestling was formed.

While not as thrilling as her former raids, passion and care put into adhering to aesthetics of the setting made Cutlass shows something special. Embracing the obscure, the odd, and the downright ridiculous, it seemed more like a television series rather than a wrestling program.  After the initial tournament to determine a champion, Scarlet went on to be undefeated for two years, defending her title successfully against any viking, zombie or knight that dared step across her gangplank. It was here she met an unlikely rival in a young woman claiming to be a pirate hunter. Initially disregarded by Scarlet as a coattail rider looking to cash in on her reputation, she easily put the girl down. Though it seemed every time she had defeated her, weeks, months later, she had earned another shot at the title. Each encounter became a larger and larger affair, both women becoming just as invested in their rivalry as the fans. No matter how many times Scarlet defeated her, the hunter returned stronger, more determined, and more prepared, challenging her in ways nobody else had.

After a a particularly brutal hardcore match in which the girls performed a choreographed live sword fight mid match, one of the blades they were using snapped and left a giant laceration across her face. Despite the officials and doctors trying to call the match, she finished it out through the blood and the pain, coming out on top once again. It was decided by management that things had gone too far after such an accident however, and it was decided one of them had to go. Smelling opportunity, with no real compromise to be found for both their futures with the company, she offered they have one last grand battle with their careers on the line. Once the hunter had agreed, the plans were made. Once she had recovered from her injury, they would end this for good.

Finally the day had come, the end to their feud where both their careers were on the line at the biggest pay per view event Cutlass had ever hosted, broadcasted to a world wide audience.

The show was canceled before it ever aired. The high production values of the sets, the costumes, the talent had been to much of a financial burden and when they weren't able to keep the backstage staff from walking out, it all fell to pieces. Within days Cutlass Wrestling had declared itself bankrupt, the owner was in the wind. It wouldn't be for a few weeks later Scarlet found out the management had been skimming money from the shows which ultimately played a large part to the downfall of the company. Disheartened by a business she had poured her life into stabbing her in the back so viciously, she took time away from the ring to reflect on how to move forward from there.

Several month later a young woman showed up at her door. True to her namesake, the pirate hunter had managed to track her down even now. This time with an offer, a truce and a contact. A foreign promotion where the two of them could thrive again in Japan. No longer as enemies, but as partners in the ring. She couldn't help but wonder is they were ready... it didn't matter. She was coming regardless to take their federation by storm.

Fun Facts:

Old School: She never drops character. Full garb and all.

Mark of Pride: While she had at the time been cleared by the company to have her face scar reduced/removed through surgery, she decided to keep it as a badge of honor she managed to finish off one of her, if not arguably her greatest match of all time. Despite how fondly she looks back on this, her partner still feels terrible about the mishap.

Wine, (Wo)men, and Song: She spends a lot of her free time outside of the ring out at the bars around Japan, causing a ruckus. Not enough places out east know the power of a good shanty.

The Gold Standard: A fan of doubloons, she likes collecting both historical pieces as well as replicas.

Pirate Booty: She enjoys surrounding herself with like minded gimmicks. Wanting to perhaps one day start her own pirate crew stable in AFW. She will often times go out of her way to arrange meetings or matches with these people, to test their pirate credibility. Posers beware.

Never Let Go: Scarlet still collects props and memorabilia from Cutlass Wrestling, some of which commands a rather high price these days. Her prize items include the two swords used in her last epic match and a fake parrot she tried to make work for her gimmick but it never quite took.
