Bad Girls Do It Well

The waitress looked between them both, probably confused on hearing Gyuri’s language - not the most common thing to hear around here, Cheyenne had to imagine. But she knew better than to ask questions, didn’t pry. She jotted everything down quick, nodded between them, and made her way over to the bar, leaving the two of them alone once more.

The music was heavy now, a rhythmic jungle beat that was enough to make the table quiver. It was enough to give Cheyenne some deja vu, bringing her back to an unfulfilling prom night from two years ago. The lame DJ, the Wal-Mart brand music, the cheesy themes, the well-meaning but irritating guy she’d chosen to drag along for it, all of it was such a watered down version of what she was experiencing now.

The comparison was enough to get a little laugh out of her, but she was brought back to reality when Gyuri spoke in her native language. She didn’t catch the first bit about what she was saying, though she did like the way she said it, drenched in the sexy drawl of hers. When she spoke again, though, all the focus was there, enough for her digest the words and run them through her filter.

Cheyenne held up a finger, and took a few seconds, looking up at the ceiling fan above them as if it came with a translation feature, muttering Gyuri’s words under breath a couple of times to make sure she had it right. Once she put it all together, though, she looked back down to her partner and went back at.

”You. I’ve been watching you, listening to you. You ooze talent, you kick ass. That debut match against those two goofballs, when you hit that move, that-” Cheyenne ‘s jerked up and brought her hands to her shoulder, slamming an invisible head with a pantomimed version of Gyuri’s finisher. ”You and me have to wrestle, sometime. But your other skills...그 목소리.”

She brought a finger to her ear, then blew a puff over Gyuri’s face - her breath was minty fresh, she’d been dining on tic-tacs all day, but she figured the point would get through. ”Take control. That voice can make me do just about anything. Want a dance? Want me closer? Want a kiss?”

She tipped her glasses down and peered over the rim, giving them straight contact. Her smile was still light, playful, but her brow furrowed with a daring twitch. ”I’m your genie tonight, Gyuri. 내가 뭘 원하는지 말해봐.”
