Hitomi Vs. Layla

Hitomi looked at the prone girl lying before her. The crowd, shocked by this turn of events, was close to silent, all of them afraid of what might happen if they made Hitomi any more angry. Hitomi grabbed Layla's body and tossed her back into the ring, where the referee began looking to see if the girl was still out cold. Hitomi slipped in as well, ready to smash Layla down again if she came around.

Layla was lim as a ragdoll as she was rolled back into the ring. The ref girl lifted her arm, and then let it drop prone to the mat. She did this three times in a row, and still got o response. "SHe's out!" the ref declared, and the bell rang to declare Hitomi the winner of the knockout match.

Hitomi gave Layla's prone form a prod with her toe. "And that's what you get shorty," Hitomi said, shaking her head. Really, she admired Layla's tenaciousness and spirit, but the little girl just didn't know when to quit and cut her losses. Hitomi raised her hands above her head in victory, while the crowd, broken out of their shocked stupor, began to cheer.

The slight prodding along with the loudening cheers of the crowd served to slowly wake Layla from her forced slumber. SHe groaned faintly, waking up to a pounding headache. "Ugh...w-what happened?"

Hitomi looked down to see Layla waking up. "I won midget," Hitomi said. She put her foot on Layla's small chest, keeping her down. "So then, you say shorties are best?" Hitomi asked, "Tell you what, if you can get back up, I'll acknowledge you as a good fighter. Otherwise, you're just trash beneath my feet!" Hitomi stomped down on Layla's chest, no doubt hurting the little girl.

"GUHHH!!" Layla grunted breathlessly as Hitomi's foot came crashing down on her chest. It felt like her rib cage had caved in with just that stomp. She heard Hitommi's words faintly, and glared up at her weakly. She grabbed at the offending foot, and tried to push it off her, but she lacked the strength to do so. She still kept at it though.

"Stubborn, aren't you?" Hitomi said. She ground her foot down even more, pushing against Layla's small chest. "You know, I rather like that characteristic." She took her foot off, putting it by Layla's side, and then reached down with her hand.

"You know, there's no reason for us to be enemies," Hitomi said.

Layla whimpered softly as she was unable to dodge the girl's foot. She felt so helpless and humiliated, escpecially in front of a crowd this size. She gasped and coughed as Hitomi removed her foot, and lay flat on her back, breathing weakly as she tried to recover. She looked up wearily at Hitomi, andwas confused when the hand was offered to her. "W-What do mean?" Layla asked while panting, not taking the hand right away.

"I mean that we should be friends!" Hitomi said. She really did admire Layla's tenacity, and knew that Layla could not only be an useful ally, but a good friend as well. The girl seemed bitter and lonely, and Hitomi knew that perhaps she could tame this little fiend.

"So then, take my hand, get up, and we can be friends," Hitomi said, "No tricks, trust me."

Laying on her back Layla contined to look up at Hitomi, not sure what to think of this sudden gesture. Not even two minutes ago this girl had thrown her around the ring like she was a toy, now she was offering to be her friend? Just like that? In all her fights this had never once happened to her. "Why should I trust you?" Layla asked. She asn't being difficult on purpous, she had trouble trusting people for most of her life.
