Reiko Hinomoto had been out of action for quite a few months but it was more self imposed then anything, she had suffered an injury in one of her last matches here at AFW but had in fact recovered from it just fine long ago. In actual fact, Reiko had had a couple of things that she wanted to settle in her life before she stepped back into the ring and besides that it was good to have a break.

Lately however she had been extremely eager to get back into the ring and perform in front of the crowds with old rivals... Right now, as she stood behind stage  waiting her heart pounded with anticipation as if this was a debut of sorts.

"Look to the Sky" started playing around the AFW arena, a number of pyrotechnic flares firing up on the top of the ramp way drew attention to a familiar white cloth with a red circle that covered the entrance. The crowd cheered loudly, knowing instantly who was about to come up without needing to read the name "Reiko" that was written on the material. Within seconds the sheet dropped to reveal the Zero Fighter standing there in her usual red hot pants and sports bra outfit.

Reiko had her eyes closed, soaking in the atmosphere once again after so long... It felt good... She swiped her index finger across the bridge of her nose and then opened her eyes, raising her head to look right down at the squared circle she had missed so. Breaking into a sprint, Reiko ran down to the ring and quickly slid in under the bottom ropes, jumping back up to her feet and bouncing on her toes full of energy.. Ready for her opponent

While Reiko was making her debut, behind the entrance stood Dixie Clemets, out of sight. She was dressed head to toe in her usual fuzzy cow-print costume, her golden police badge shined up and glimmering in the soft light of the backstage area. She didn't know who her opponent was tonight, the higher-ups had set her up with another random opponent without telling her who, but Dixie wasn't worried. She had been on a roll since her return to the AFW, and she knew she could take out whoever else the management decided to throw at her, no sweat.

She stood backstage, doing a few light stretches to warm up, waiting for her signal to enter, when she heard the first strains of Reiko's entrance theme coming from the arena's speakers. She blinked in confusion, tilting her head slightly towards the sound to get a better listen.

Look to the Sky? Reiko's old theme...? Nah, couldn't be... she thought to herself, confused as the song played to it's full length and then ended. Dixie could feel her heart starting to beat faster in her chest. Was she really going up against Reiko tonight? She couldn't help but be anxious now, and the moment she was given the signal to enter, she headed straight for the arena's entrance, quickly moving onto the stage atop the entrance ramp as the first beats of Yankee Rose, her own entrance theme, began to play.

Dixie stopped in the center of the ramp, forcing herself to grin as she looked out over the attending audience, posing for the crowd as her fans cheered loudly for her. The cowgirl loved this, loved the attention of the audience, loved being here for them. She could feel her heart still pounding within her breast though, as she finally forced herself to look at the ring.

There she was. Reiko Hinomoto. Dixie's best friend, one time rival, and one time partner. It had been forever since the two of them had seen each other. Dixie wasn't sure what to think, or what to say, but she did know what thing. Meeting Reiko here in the ring like this was probably the best way for the two of them to reunite with each other.

Taking a deep breath to help steady her nerves, Dixie started down the long metal ramp, gazing upon Reiko as she slowly, but intently, began to head towards the ring.

Reiko was initially surprised when she heard Dixie's theme start up, her heart skipping a beat.. But moments later she just smiled and figured "of course they would set me up with her. Who else would it be?". It seemed like it was destined to be that her and Dixie would be wrestling each other for all eternity.

Reiko kept hoping back and forth from one foot to the other and doing the occasional sets of shadow boxing to keep herself warmed up as Dixie made her way to the ring, her eyes meeting her long time rival's and friend's.

"Dixie.." She said in acknowledgement and kind of a greeting as Dixie entered the ring, trying to hide a slight grin... It felt like the stakes of this return match had been raised significantly.

Dixie never took her eyes from Reiko as she headed down the ramp towards the ring. Even when she finally reached the apron and climbed up onto it, ducking down to pass through the ropes, she never took her eyes off of the Zero Fighter. Into the ring she stepped, moving right towards the center of the ring. Starting to smile a bit, she lifted her arms, folding them over her ample chest as she stared across the ring towards Reiko.

"Reiko..." she replied softly, letting her gaze trace over her friend's body. She looked good, Dixie admitted to herself, though whether it was because she had kept in shape or just Dixie's fondness for her friend that she hadn't seen in ages, the cowgirl wasn't sure. "Been a while, ain't it?"

Reiko took a similar moment to examine Dixie's body so it didn't seem as awkward to Reiko had she just been watching Dixie check her out. It seemed like the 3 count cowgirl looked just as strong and curvy as usual.

"I'd say... But, somehow I should have known that you would be the first person I'd face in the ring when I returned." She clenched her gloved right fist and brought it up just in front of her chest

"I hope you don't think I'm rusty just because I've been a way for a while."

Dixie grinned wide at Reiko's brave words. "Heh, weren't thinkin' that fer an instant. I hope you remember I ain't a pushover though..." She let her voice trail off, her words a warning to Reiko that she wasn't going to go easy on her just because they were friends. She winked at her friend, then let out a sudden laugh, shaking her head. "Ah've missed ya, Reiko. Let's put on a good show, alright?"

She grinned at Dixie's confident response "Good.. I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm glad to be able to wrestle you again" She said, extending her hand for a handshake "Let's do this." By now the ref had also slipped into the ring and was ready to get the match against the two long time rivals underway while the crowd cheered in appreciation for seeing the two rumble roses put back against one another again

Dixie took Reiko's hand in hers, giving it a firm handshake, nodding once at the smaller girl as a response to her words. She gave Reiko's hand a quick squeeze, giving her a reminder of her strength before letting it go. The cowgirl then stepped back, grinning again as she brought her arms up in front of her.

The bell rang to start the match, Dixie starting to circle around Reiko as it did, calling out to her one last time before things got started.

"C'mon, girls! Show me what ya can do!"

Reiko fully remembered how overpowering Dixie could be from their previous matches and didn't really need the handshake to help her recall, never the less she nodded back to the cowgirl and then stepped back, waiting for the bell to ring.

Once it did, the zero fighter was quickly out of her corner... her arms up in a wrestling stance as she started to counter circle with the American. She started to lift her arms up and inch in towards her as if looking for a lock up.. Reiko knew it would be pretty stupid to go testing her strength with a fully fresh Dixie without being challenged to it or something, it was simply a feint..

As Reiko got within reaching distance, she would suddenly try to duck under Dixie's right up and swing agilely around behind the Texan... Attempting to clutch her arms around Dixie's waist while shoving her smaller body right up against the Texan's back so that she was perfectly molded around all of Dixie's curves

Dixie watched Reiko carefully as they began to circle around each other. For a brief instant, her mind flashed back to her match with Asami, the ninja who bore more than one similarity to Reiko. The thoughts of that match gave her a quick reminder that Reiko was pretty speedy, and as she lifted her arms to accept the lock-up that the zero fighter was offering her, she reminded herself to remember that fact...

...but she was a moment too slow in her thoughts. Right before she and Reiko's hands touches, Dixie watched as the girl sped to the side and slipped behind her. Before the cowgirl could even think of reacting, Reiko's arms were around her body, the girl's smaller form pressing up closely to her. Dixie blushed, just a tiny bit at this, looking back over her shoulder towards Reiko, as her hands slid up to the asian girl's own. She tried to take Reiko by the wrists, wanting to try and pry her off before she could tighten her hug around her too much.
