Strategy: Zoey isn’t one to rely on fancy holds and grapples. She lets her fists do the talking and her legs do the dancing. When Zoey steps into the ring, she’s determined to win and gives nothing less than one-hundred percent. With unwavering determination behind each of her strikes, this scrappy Korean comes in fast and without remorse to deliver a relentless series of quick jabs and strong kicks high and low. She doesn't have time to wait around and look for an opening. Some cowards prefer to try and avoid whatever obstacles they come across. Try to find a way around every brick wall that stops them on their way to the top. Fuck that. Zoey goes right through the wall. Headfirst and with no regrets. Doesn't even matter what kind of opponent she’s up against. Big or small, Zoey is confident that when enough strikes land, the bricks will most certainly crumble.

Style: Taekwondo / Street Fighting

Favorite Attacks:
- Punches
- Kicks
- Elbows

Preferred Matches: Anything, anytime, any-fuckin'-where.

Finishing Moves:
Sure Shot - Front hook kick to the head.
In Action:

Great Sonkai - A knifehand swipe to the neck that incapacitates Zoey’s opponent for a few seconds, opening them for a short-arm clothesline to slam them onto the canvas.

Characteristics

Personality: Zoey figures herself the lonesome wanderer-type. A woman held up by nothing but her own convictions and a burning desire to make it big with the help of the wrestling industry. She doesn't feel the need to make friends or have to get attached to anything for too long, preferring to get by on her own. A major narcissist, she's convinced that she can take on just about anyone in the league. Utterly disrespectful to anyone that stands their ground and willing to take them apart by whatever means necessary. Not that its about respect for her, as much as it is just a fact of life. Despite this, however, she is fairly empathetic and might consider giving a helping hand where she feels it's needed. It's just that her own problems come first, and she’d hate to get dragged into any sort of commitment. She’ll bring some serious energy to the ring, however, and does her best to make her opponent work for a victory.

Beyond that, her off-stage life is largely uneventful. Professionalism and the like are foreign concepts to her and she’s fairly approachable. She mostly fills the time by staying in a perpetual happy hour at her favorite counter and making snarky quips until duty calls once again. All she wants is to have good fights, get paid, and hope people don’t ask too much of her.

Appearance: Wears a tank top underneath a loose top and a modified skirt. A single arm warmer is worn over her left elbow. A pair of fingerless gloves, shin-high boots, and knee high socks complete the rest of her outfit. Alternates with a variation of her clothing that includes a yellow trim and looser layers. Her hair is kept tied back in a ponytail during matches.

Ring Attire:
Casual Attire:

Knockout Punch:
She Dosen't do well against big guys...:
...or small girls...:
...or anyone competent really...:
...but damn it, she has heart!:

Background
______________________________________

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Zoey Jae Oh comes from a rather well-off background living beside the warm water and sunny streets of West Lake Union. Her father is currently the head programmer of a major tech firm that was then operating out of Silicon Valley a ways down south. Her mother, on the flip side, was a stay-at-home parent, there to provide for and look after her daughter each and every step of the way. This was the context her youth was built around. A lot of disposable income and constant, often needless pampering. The young Korean-American had the time and  freedom to indulge in whatever hobby held her interest for even a second. Developing a smug air of arrogance and perpetual overconfidence, Zoey often considered herself one above her classmates and what little friends she’d managed to make for herself. Most of her relationships were held by a tether. In the end, it didn’t change the fact that she was smart, athletic, and lived in a world of seemingly limitless possibilities.

It’s a true wonder, then, that she would one day give all of this up to pursue a professional career in wrestling. Zoey always dreamed of becoming famous. She lived for attention and glamour. She loved being noticed and relished appraisal. Problem was, she didn’t have a talent for much of anything, and the one or two things she did have a knack for didn't excite her in the slightest. The only thing she could really look to for worthy accolades were good test grades and a Salutatorian speech.

Her chance to shine finally came during freshman year at UW, in the form of a Taekwondo club. Korean blood didn’t help one fucking bit, mind you. She never managed to even touch the club’s ace or win more than two fights out of her three-year-long hobby. Her skills stayed at the entry level and she could never be asked to train more on her own. Even so, she had more skills than more than virtually the entire campus. She made it a bit of a habit to go to the other martial clubs and start picking fights. She decked a couple of their new blood and By adding her own personal spin to these tales, her reputation became rather well known amongst the student body. Women, in particular, started looking up to her as a no-nonsense sort of gal that stood her ground and didn't take shit front anyone. Even scored her a few free lunches.

That came back to bite her, however. The leaders started complaining that she was dissuading new recruits from joining and threatened the very lifeblood of college martial arts. The president had to put his foot down. It got her kicked out of the club, but thankfully didn't cause enough of a stir to get her expelled.

She graduated in decent shape and spent weeks looking for a job with her parents. However, Zoey had become a bit of a rambunctious girl during her years away. Her blood was always running and there was seldom a good enough outlet to vent. She grew constantly frustrated. She felt uncomfortable in her own skin and lost in her own mind.

When her father’s company moved to Japan, it was only natural that the entire family be relocated along with it. Most girls would probably be distraught to leave the city they were born and raised in behind. To never see any of the friendly locals or familiar sights again. Not Zoey. For her, Seattle was just a dirty, smelly city with nobody there even worth a decent goodbye. When she boarded the plane out of her drab life, she didn’t even bother pulling out her earbuds to hear if anyone would beg her to stay.

Far across the Pacific, life was a lot less boring. Tokyo didn’t have the twenty-four years of wear on it like Seattle had for Zoey. The culture shock never came. It was a culture ‘bang’ is what it was. With nothing else to do, she went up and down the country as often as she could. Everything felt so new and relatively interesting. Sure, learning Japanese was a pain in the ass, but so was Korean. Been there, done that.

There was one thing she managed to retain from her life in America, however. She still loved to fight. She spent a couple months messing around in whatever dojos and gym rings would have her, but none of them really scratched that itch good enough. She couldn’t get her pulse really pounding. Couldn’t feel her heat threatening to burst inside of her chest. There were a few jabs, a nice little twirl, maybe even a knockout, a handshake, a fuckin’ handshake, and it was over before she could even get a good sweat going. All anyone ever did was play things safe. And Zoey didn't do safe. Where was a girl with nothing but time to kill supposed to go to get a real fight nowadays?

That was around when she heard about AFW. She managed to catch it on the flat screen flipping idly between channels. She never followed professional wrestling. Too fake for her tastes. Too surreal. This league, however, was something else entirely. That much was clear. After watching a couple matches back-to-back, Zoey wasted no time in doing some research. Sure enough, it was everything she was looking for. Tough competition, fights full of danger, extra stipulations, and of course, great pay. Even the participation awards were decent. Only an hour on the computer and she had already made up her mind. She logged it into in her phone and took the next bus over.

Didn’t even knock. Just stormed right up to the front desk, past it, and into the recruitment office. She got about halfway through a very haphazard proposal to the recruiter, sat straight and surprisingly calm behind his desk, before security so rudely interrupted her. She managed to knock out a couple of the hulking brutes before the rest tossed her out with a possible lawsuit on her hands. To her surprise, however, the letter that arrived for her in the mail the next day was quite the opposite. It was an invitation containing a very generous offer to join the Friction roster. Needless to say, what followed was the best night of drinking she’d ever had.

Even so, her joy was slowly but surely overshadowed by a lingering doubt. Her parent’s, specifically. Everyone would tell her that she was getting in over her head. That her martial skills weren’t up to scratch. That she wouldn't last more than a day amongst world-class fighters. But the young, headstrong brunette wouldn’t listen for even a second. But what did they know about fighting? Who were they to hold her back? To tell her not to bite? As far as Zoey was concerned, this was everything that she was waiting for. She’d show them all one day. Yeah, that’s right. There she would stand, atop the peak, looking down on all of them. No one was going to stand in her way on the path to glory. Everyone would know the name Zoey Jae Oh, the unstoppable.
