Description: Kaoru uses all manner of strikes from straight punches, to round kicks, hard knees and also favors palm strikes. She also knows a few throws/takedowns, some traditional Japanese joint locks and being able to grapple when she needs too. The Karate fighter would never call herself an expert when it comes to groundwork though. Kaoru’s main strength comes from her physical and mental conditioning that makes her particularly hard to put down.
Strengths: Kaoru is very good against non-competent strikers, her traditional or old school approach might also catch other strikers off-guard. Kaoru is very good at countering, repositioning and striking from unorthodox angles. In short, she’s good against powerhouse fighters and brawlers.
Weaknesses: Kaoru is a competent grappler when on top but when on the bottom, she is next to helpless. Therefore, she’s particularly bad against submission fighters and grapplers who tie her up from punching. Although Kaoru isn’t shy, she is not the best when it comes to erotic combat either.

Yama Tsuki [Mountain Punch]
A double punch gambit that involves throwing a punch to the face with her left, non dominant hand, while throwing a harder blow to the body with her dominant hand.

Yama Arashi [Mountain Storm Throw]
A hip toss coupled with throwing her leg back mid throw to sweep her opponent's legs from underneath them.

Kaoru is the daughter of a prodigious Karate master, Kenji Yoshida. Having no sons, her father trained her with the intention of passing on his legacy. Kenji instilled in her what it means to be a practitioner of Goju-Ryu Karate. The way of a true Japanese warrior, with hardening one's self physically and mentally. However, with AFW and other fight organizations, Japan has been more exposed to other fighting arts. Thus, decreasing in the need for the older Karate styles from thriving. Therefore, Kaoru brought it on herself to bring about a rebirth of traditional Karate. However, talk was cheap with how the world is now. She decided to join AFW as a way of proving the strength of her family's karate and as a way of proving that Karate is viable.

Kaoru is hard working, stern when she needs to be and is mostly level headed. She is generally friendly but also reserved in how she expresses herself. Stoic and bold, Kaoru carries herself with a certain level of pride. She often gets aggressive when someone has insulted her. She takes matches and bouts extremely seriously and tries to win with her entire being. Kaoru can be flustered when she is caught off guard.
As a fighter, she hates exhibiting weakness and loves hates to be humiliated. Her pride often serving as a double edged sword.
