Re: Break
Same computer? What was done to it before? Does windows start to load before it resets, or does it not get that far? You could go into BIOS and check what you have it set to boot to, and make sure you don't have something connected that it might try and fail to boot from (ie CD, flash drive, whatever). But yeah, good luck.

Re: Break
It doesn't even get to the windows loading screen and the BIOS didn't help either. I'm going to have to take it to someone to fix it, or buy a new computer.

Sounds like you've got the case of the infamous "Boot loop". I had a unexpected encounter with one long ago, its useless to try and repair it. Best bet is to take it to a trusted PC repair place, and they'll hopefully save your hardrive from corrupting with a disk software package (aka Dell, Toshiba etc).
Hope this helps D!
Re: Break
Well apparently there is a virus going around that wipes out your windows start up files. So it will be a few days until i can fully come back.

Re: Break
There are methods that can save the hardrive intact, aka the repairer will transfer most of it to a big USB, for a price.
But barter if you can.

Re: Break
O.O
Don't PAY someone to transfer your data. You can stick your HD in someone else's computer and move what you want to keep somewhere, or if you have an external HD enclosure you can stick it in that (instead of opening up another computer). Or if you HAVE an external you can back stuff up to, you can use a boot disc, ie bootable windows or linux, and move stuff over that way.
The things places charge people to do really simple computer things are really horrifying. It's like working on cars, it really pays to have a basic working knowledge of stuff so you don't get taken advantage of.
