Mari Fuuma vs. Mei-Li Zhu

< "Ah, h-hey!" > Mei-Li objected as Mari rolled out of the ring, putting on a slightly pouty face. Despite still being a bit shaky on her feet, Mei stumbled over to the ropes and slid down off the canvas, hoping to pursue her foe.

Mari would stagger towards the barricade as she leaned against it, lifting her hand up to her head as she would soon see Mei Li walking towards the edge of the ring and sliding out. Although she wasn't able to rest as long as she wanted, Mari saw an opportunity to seize as she waited by the barricade, waiting for Mei to get closer to her. When her opponent was close enough, Mari would attempt to snap off of the barricade and tried to floor her opponent with a fast clothesline.

Mei approached Mari cautiously, already quite aware of her opponent's strength. Rightfully so, as the larger woman very swiftly lunged towards her with a clothesline. Leaning backwards, Mei just barely slipped under the powerful arm, before twirling around. Taking one step forward, she aimed to deliver a hard kick right to Mari's midsection as she turned around.

Mari's sneak attack was foiled as Mei's instincts served her well as she ducked underneath the clothesline and countered with a powerful side kick to her gut that caused Mari to kneel over and let out a loud cry of pain. "Gaaah!" she got out as she backed up into the barricade, holding her stomach in pain as she would make her way away from Mei and down the barricade, knowing that she had to keep some distance between her and Mei if she wanted to recover.

Fortunately for Mari, Mei-Li was far from ruthless. Following her Japanese foe, while maintaining a safe distance, she eagerly awaited for Mari to recover and to see what she would try next.

Mari felt herself being able to get away from Mei as she looked over her shoulder and saw that she was keeping her distance, no doubt waiting to counter attack her once more. Mari had to think about what she was going to do since she was given the time to do so as the ref girl continued to count out after numerous attempts to get the action back in the ring which fell on deaf ears, with Mei it was due to the language barrier and with Mari she just out right ignored the ref.

Making her way towards the other side of the ring next to the turnbuckle, Mari would finally turn around to Mei. A cautious style was not her forte so she decided to hell with playing safe and attempted to throw her foot out to kick Mei in the gut, hoping that the sudden kick would catch her opponent off guard as she threw her entire weight as she could into the kick for a heavy hit.

As she was following Mari, Mei suddenly got distracted by the referee yelling something at them. Her comprehension still was little rough, but she could tell that the striped official was counting for something. She vaguely remember a rule about being outside the ring, but since the only rulebook her manager had was in English, Mei's understanding was lacking severely.

Unfortunately, as she paused to dwell on it, Mari quickly spun around, taking advantage of the opening. "OOOOOMMPH!" she gasped out as the full-powered kick slammed her right in her toned belly, knocking the wind right out of her. Groaning, she staggered a bit before falling to her knees, desperately trying to catch her breath.

Mari smiled as she booted Mei roughly in the gut and sent the girl dropping to her knees as Mari finally managed to get a heavy hit on her opponent. Now that she had time to recover, she would look at the ref girl as her count reached 6. "Tch." Mari let out as she would roll into the ring and immediately roll back out to reset the count as she turned her attention back to her martial artist opponent.

Now that she had her winded, Mari was feeling pretty confident that she could get in more heavy hits to weaken Mei as she would grab a handful of Mei's hair, take a step towards the barricade and attempted to throw her head first into the thinly covered fence.

Groaning as she held her belly, Mei started to get back on her feet. However by that point, Mari had already returned, grabbing her by the hair. < "Owwww...!" > she yelped, suddenly dragged along and then flung towards the metal barricades. Her momentum was too fast, but Mei just barely managed to throw her arms up in time, protecting her face. The impact still hurt, though, leaving her down on the ground and trying to shake the pain off.

Sending Mei into the barricade, Mari didn't care that Mei had blocked most of the impact with her hands as she would take very little time in jumping back on the attack. Grabbing at Mei's hair once more she would then haul Mei up and attempt to throw her back into the ring. Rolling her underneath the ropes, Mari would slide in after Mei and attempt to go for a pin as she would lay on top of Mei and hook her closer leg.
