Mari Fuuma vs. Mei-Li Zhu

It looked like it was going to take a lot more to take Mari down, and so Mei-Li would continue her assault. Gracefully sliding her foot forward directly between the staggering Japanese girl's legs, Mei thrust her entire body forward, leading with her elbow to try and strike Mari right in the stomach.

It wasn't long before Mei came at Mari to continue her attack as she slammed her elbow into her gut yet again. "Guuuh!" Mari cried out, having been hit in the same place again flared up the pain in it as she stumbled back and dropped to a knee, coughing for air. Her opponent was proving her fear that her striking skills were indeed worth the danger she thought they had.

Despite the violence of it, Mei-Li was very much enjoying herself. It wasn't like a battle to her, it was more like a conversation between two powerful fighters; almost like a sport. As Mari dropped to a kneel, Mei hopped back, resuming her stance as she waited for her opponent to rise back up so that they might continue.

Mari coughed out more as she knew that on her knees was a terrible position to be at as it allowed her opponent many options to go from there. She could ram a knee into her face, kick her in the side of the head, or maybe reveal that she had some level of wrestling ability and drive her head into the mat with a painful DDT. However none of those options came as Mari looked up and saw that her opponent simply stayed back and awaited for her to get to her feet it seemed.

Many would see this as a blessing, Mari however being the proud wrestler that she was saw instead as a confusing action. What was her intention? Was it to lure her into a state of false protection? Mari would not find the answer sitting on her knee as she rose to her feet.

Mei smiled as Mari rose back to her feet, seemingly recovered despite the slightly confused look on her face. As a stand-up fighter, Mei generally preferred her foes, well... standing up. And she certainly couldn't be too relentless, or else the fight wouldn't last as long nor be as fun. They now both hand an idea of what the other could do, and it would be interesting to see where things went from there.

She briefly considering trying to explain herself, but it seemed unlikely her extremely limited Japanese vocabulary would get the message across. Communicating with her fists was more her style anyway. With Mari back on her feet, Mei quickly dashed right back in, this time sliding low before trying to catch the Japanese woman with a rising palm strike.

Mari kept a suspicious eye on Mei as she got back to her feet without any attack from her opponent. She was a strange opponent to figure out as Mari would've immediately capitalized on a downed opponent and seek to beat them into submission. She expected the same from Mei but it was a misplaced assumption as they now stood across of each other. Mei came at her with what Mari assume was another hit as the quicker girl got in close enough into striking distance as she attacked with another palm strike.

She was getting the feeling that Mei only had striking in her pool of techniques and little grappling skills. If that was the case, Mari knew what she needed to do. Rising her arms up to protect her face, she would attempt to deflect the palm strike and push forward, looking to upset her opponent's balance.

As Mari successfully defended her attack and pushed her away, Mei stumbled backwards though her superior sense of balance helped her remain on her feet. Taking a brief moment to steady herself, she leapt right back, this time aiming a jumping knee strike.

With deflecting the blow from the palm strike and forcing her opponent back, Mari saw Mei take to the sky with a flying knee. The silver haired wrestler was not going to risk suffering a hard hit like that with blocking with her head. Instead she would try and take advantage of her superior strength again as she would attempt to catch Mei in mid air, grabbing the knee with her right arm as she turned her body to catch the rest of Mei's body on her shoulders, attempting to catch her in the fireman's carry hold.

Mei yelped as she was pretty much plucked right out of the air, landing hard on Mari's shoulder. Momentarily winded, she instinctively began to flail her limbs again, hoping to try and squirm free before her foe could deliver another hard slam.

Mari gritted her teeth as she caught Mei out of the air, however her opponent was not a fool to just sit on top of her shoulders. Trying her best to try and keep her grip on Mei, Mari would lose her hold on Mei as the girl slipped off of her shoulder. She almost stumbled from the weight leaving her shoulder, but she knew that she had to take back her advantage as she turned around to face her opponent, she knew that she couldn't let her get another brutal hit on her.
