Rematch: Morrigan Vs. Valley Doll

Morrigan only wanted to get Vally upright and out of the corner. She grunted as the strikes jammed into her, loosening her grip a bit, but she didn't rest on her laurels long enough to let Valley get free. Ever since she had gotten in control she had been simple but efficient and she wanted to continue that all the way to the end of the match, which she hoped was coming quicker and quicker.

Morrigan tried to keep the hold on long enough to pull Valley down with her as she hopped off her feet and dropped backwards, looking to plant the blonde's head into the mat with a fairly simple DDT. She didn't need to be fancy to compress the face she'd already been attacking into the canvas.

"Get!" Valley threw an elbow in Morrigan's side. "Off!" Another followed quickly after. "Me!" And another, on top of that.

If there was any doubt whether she had fight left or not, she was erasing it as she thrashed around in the headlock, trying to escape before what Morrigan had a chance to follow up. Maybe she could’ve pulled it off in a few seconds, maybe she couldn’t - it was a moot point, because her head was driven in the mat before it came to that point. Valley’s body straightened up as the pain tore down her spine, before she flopped over and flopped back down on her back with her eyes screwed shut.

Morrigan winced as she sat up, rubbing her ribs for a second. Those strikes had hurt, but she knew enduring them would be the key to making them stop. With Valley down, Morrigan sighed in relief and slid back on top of the blonde, grabbing her leg and hoisting it roughly in the air for, hopefully, only three more seconds.

"ONE!"

Valley was knocked loopy by Morrigan’s DDT, but not so much so that she wasn't aware of a 130-something pound Irish redhead dropping on her sweaty chest and pulling her leg up. Her eyes shot wide open after the referee’s first count, impossible to ignore with the audience’s echo.

”2…!”

Right as the referee raised her hand for the final count, Valley threw her arm up and shot her legs out, violently bucking out of the pin with half a second to spare.

"Gh!"

Morrigan grunted as Valley kicked out just before the three count. She stood up and threw a kick at Valley's head to keep her stunned. Frustrated as she was, Morrigan wasn't deterred. She stomped over to the ropes and began climbing up them.

She didn't mind risking her body. In fact, she was somewhat of a masochist, but she had been winning with pretty standard fare. However, if valley wanted to see that she COULD do something like this, she'd see it. Maybe it wouldn't have as many twists or turns as what Valley was capable of, but as she hopped to the top rope, she closed her eyes and leaped, and flew until she was vertical, hoping to hit the downed blonde with a flying senton.

Valley had just started to sit up when Morrigan's boot solidly connected with her jaw, flooring her again and laying her out in the middle of the ring. It had been a little while since she'd taken a kick in the face instead of dishing them out, and her opponent had a mean one. Not too pretty, but it left her with the faint taste of iron in her blood.

She expected Morrigan to keep on stomping her, or to put her in a submission, or to do something, anything, so long as it was simple and brutal, but what she got instead was a familiar sound: the audience was starting to get progressively louder. As if someone was going up top and getting ready to take a high risk. But that couldn't be right, Morrigan didn't have a single high-flying bone in her body...

Valley looked to the side just in time to see how wrong she was, as Morrigan came flying towards her. She instinctively brought her knees up and tensed, squinting hard and waiting for the impact. It wasn't going to be a pleasant landing for either of them. Far, far more for Morrigan, but still.

"Guuuhaaaa!"

Morrigan's eyes widened as her knees collided with Valley's back. She instantly began spewing expletives as she writhed and rolled on the mats next to the blonde. She was especially jarred from the impact, reigniting the pain in her back from earlier in the match.

"Fffffff!"

Valley winced as Morrigan’s banshee wail tore through the air, right before she crashed and burned over to the side. She’d been there enough times herself that she could emphasize, knew it felt like a hot knife stabbing in the spine. Wouldn't stop her from taking advantage of it, though.

The first step was getting a good gauge on just how vulnerable Morrigan was, figure out how much fight she had left. Valley rolled over, grabbed Morrigan by the shoulder, and pulled her over on her back. She flopped on top of her, chest to chest, trying her luck while her opponent was still in a good deal of pain.

The referee fell to her knees and slapped the mat. ”1…!”

Morrigan grunted as Valley pressed her body on top of Morrigan's own and initiated the count. She didn't move through the one count and let the two count go without much resistance. She could use the extra moment to try and regroup.

However, before the third count she threw her arm up in the air. She wasn't going to be pinned that easily, just from a mistake. Valley would know that much, at least.

Valley wasn’t just going for the pin to gauge Morrigan’s state and see if she could steal a quick win. She was also drawing out things, taking the moment to breath and consider her next move. She had the momentary advantage. RIght now, at least. But that could change. Her body still ached from the hellacious beating she’d taken in the past few minutes. She had to keep Morrigan grounded for the time being, until her body was ready to cut loose. Luckily enough, she knew just the right move for the job.

When Morrigan threw her hands up, Valley scooted behind her, grabbed her head, pulled it between her thighs and crossed her legs around the Irishwoman’s neck. But it wasn’t quite like the hold Morrigan had used herself a few minutes. With this variation, she tucked her right ankle under her left knee in the figure-four position, and the audience immediately recognized it and cheered - it was Trapped in the Valley. A figure-four headlock. Her signature submission move.

The first time she’d used it in the AFW was almost exactly one year ago, in her first encounter with Morrigan. She’d perfected the hold since then, given it an official name, and even added on some new tricks to it. But for now, she was content to simply lay back, take a deep breath, and show her opponent just how strong her legs could be, in the most personal way imaginable.
