Etzlicoatl vs Belinda Northman

Size worked both ways. Etzli was shorter and very light, exactly the type of slender frame that was well-suited to making dramatic leaps off the top rope and performing satellite headscissors. This also, unfortunately, made her much easier to lift up onto the top rope. She shook her head to clear the cobwebs, and prepared to lean back and throw one of those absurd stationary pele kicks that'd earned her a number of turnarounds in the ring. "Ha! Your hero's journey dies stillborn, for--"

THWACK. The chop landed in that same spot between her shoulders, causing her threat to end abruptly in a yelp of pain and thoroughly putting any plans of kicking Belinda in the head on hold for now.

"Ahhh, oooohhhh..." Etzli managed in a less-than-regal tone, squirming in pain. Holy hell, that stung! "Why in the spine, man, come on..."

Belinda would nod her head as she looked up at Etzli's back hearing the girl's whines as she would attempt to climb up to stand on the middle ropes right by Etzli. " Sorry." She'd whisper to Etzli as she'd attempt to pull her arms up in under Etzli's attempting to underhook her opponents arms! " Even gods fall to great heroes! Their prophets are no different!" Belinda shouted out as she would attempt to throw herself and Etzlicotl backwards, attempting to perform a top rope tiger suplex!

Trying to push out and backwards from the middle ropes to drive Etzlicoatl's head into the mat from there with her newest finisher Comet Impact! Attempting to drive her foe down with a good finisher and a poetic way...falling all the down to the mat!

Okay, this was...potentially really bad. Belinda was climbing up top with her and probably going to try for something like a superplex. Etzli began planning immediately, trying to figure out the best way to counter a potentially devastating maneuver like that. Okay. Okay, she was going to push off with her right arm, turn in place, and catch Belinda with a sort of miniature crossbody, and that'd take them both off the top rope but the blonde would break her fall. Perfect.

"Do not fall victim to hubris," she chastised, tensing in place and getting ready. "In time, you will--"

At this point, both of her arms got hooked, and it became very apparent that it was a tiger superplex, against which her planned counter would have absolutely no effect.

"--come to comprehend that AUGH, OHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Etzlicoatl screeched all the way down like a Disney villain falling off the inevitable cliff at the end of the movie, bounced almost three feet in the air from the impact, and ended up sprawled in a hilariously undignified starfish shape on the center of the mat, eyes unfocused and arms twitching. She looked, frankly, like roadkill. It wasn't a good look.

Etzli's words were causing her to worry until she finally locked in the underhook hold, and with a heavy heave she raised up and throw Etzli down. The loud cry out Etzli on her way down caused the blond to wonder if she was okay, after the dangerous bounce and smack that the girl took who wouldn't be....it was a rather dangerous finisher after all...but it was the most deserving end she could give her opponent and most fitting for their little act.

Belinda would roll over onto her stomach and look on at Etzli, boy was she tired...it had been a rough match with a lot of back and forth but it looked as if it was over now. She tried to quickly crawl over towards Etzli's frame and attempt to lay herself across her fallen foe, chest on chest for a pin attempt!

"One!"

Etzlicoatl blinked, her vision coming back into focus as she re-entered the world of the living. Oh. That was right, she'd been superplexed seemingly through the continent, possibly through the core of the earth, and was now in...Canada? What was on the other side of the world from Japan? She couldn't remember. Also, there was a pinfall going on.

This is fine, the Sanguine Serpent decided, glancing at the ref making the count. I'm okay with the situation that is unfolding presently. Just gonna muster up my energy and kick out now. Right now. Riiiiiiiight now.

"Two!"

That's fine. Everything is fine. It's just taking a second for everything to start working again. Okay, for real this time. Aaaaand kick out.

"Three!"

Although Etzli did in fact manage a flailing motion that might've been a kickout, it was at least a full second after the pinfall had been counted. If they'd been going to five, she might've made it. Possibly. Still not likely. Either way, as her mind began to clear up from the dizzied fugue state, she found herself sprawled in the middle of the ring with Belinda's music playing and the fans cheering enthusiastically for her defeat. ....Ah. It only took a moment to piece together what had just gone down.

The Nahuatl gritted her teeth. It'd happened again.

Belinda laid across Etzli's chest, hoping that the girl wouldn't kick out, she was far too tired to keep going to be honest and the moves she had thrown and taken had taken a lot out of her....but soon enough the third count came...Belinda's face lit up as she now had won! The Swede pushed up to her knees and looked down on her former opponent now for a few seconds, she nodded and whispered to her " Thanks for a good match." Something that probably Etzli couldn't even hear, over the music and the cheers of the fans.

She'd move up and allow the ref-girl to raise her hand up into the air, smiling out at the crowd. " I told you a hero would defeat you! Sanguine Serpent! Your dark ways are over for now!" Belinda let out as the crowd cheered...and laughed at their little play acting, though Belinda had to admit it was enjoyable and all the better could she help out the image of her opponent at least a little bit. She would start to head out of the ring and up the ramp...knowing that she would have to try and get in contact with Etzli and maybe talk about things~

The crowd, fresh from cheering on Belinda's victory, now fell into an anticipatory hush.  It was such a familiar part of Etzlicoatl matches by now that it had basically become a ritual - the post-loss temper tantrum.  Any minute now.

....Aaaaany minute now.

But as she finally got to her feet, leaning on the ropes for support, it seemed (surprisingly enough) like it wasn't going to happen for once, though.  Etzli seemed dismayed, but as she watched the Swede head to the back, proclaiming her victory, it seemed like a very tiny smile pulled at the corner of her mouth.  Almost as if she was happy to have been humored for once.

And then that instant was over, and the smile was replaced with a villainous scowl as she shook her fist like some kind of thwarted vaudeville overlord.

"Next time, Northman!  NEXT TIIIIIIIIME!!!!"
