Summer Splash Official Theme Song

Greetings and Salutations all~

With Summer Splash coming up in the next few days, and with the permission and blessings from our mods, I've decided to try an experiment to add some flair to the proceedings. Real life PPV's tend to have official theme songs attributed to them, just like the recent Takeover events theme song was Judas, by Fozzy.  

So recently I've been thinking why can't our own PPV's have something along those lines as well? My idea is firstly to have everyone post one music video in this thread, preferably from Youtube to make it easier for everyone to access, and if you want give a brief description over what you like about it and how it would be appropriate, etc...

Than, I would make another thread with a poll that had everyone's' nominated song, and we vote from there. This plan may have some kinks to work out at the beginning, but I'm hoping we can perfect this process for every PPV we have. All for the purposes of giving our PPV's more of an individual personality and feel to them. I'd rather not post a song a the beginning and skew the thread in my own direction, but I'll probably post my own song later on.

I've always been a fan of using rock songs for PPV themes. They just fit better, and it feels weird now seeing WWE use all these pop songs over imagery of people beating each other up.





I propose Y&T's "On With The Show"

Comes with its own little prelude, and I could just picture that over the video imagery of various feud build up, then the intro playing as some voice narrates "Now, AFW presents: Summer Splash 2017" or something, cause I'm a nerd. Plus the lyrics, while not specifically about fighting, could be interpreted as being about a wrestling career, without much of a stretch.

Plus it has a dragon. Rawr.

If it's a summer PPV, shouldn't it have a summery theme?

Both a hard theme for the hardcore fans and also serves double duty for hentai fans with the title Bombshell.

Love the song, but jesus that music video. The early 2000's visual style, hair, and outfit choices were fucking terrible. Probably worse than the 80's.

Well, it's a good thing we are judging only the song and not the video.

To be fair, its not like Y&T's are any better.

Seriously, take 3 minutes, hit youtube, watch "Y&T: Contagious" music video, tell me that's not the dumbest fucking thing you've ever seen.

I'll probably get some flack just because this is Smash Mouth we're talking about, but hear me out. Considering this is a Summer PPV, this is the best time to use a track that's festive, lively, upbeat, and sunny. And I can just envision our characters taking time off from the business and their prolonged feuds to take in the sun and engage in various beach bash shenanigans...in fact it would probably look something like this.

Yeah well, ridiculous or not lies in the eye of the Beholder.
For example I saw a documentary that included the Beasty Boys and some art and psychology professors praising their Intergalactic music video and how about it´s all about Exploration, Equality and Zeitgeist.
All I personally see in that video is three guys who had to fight for their right to party way to long ago enter a giant robot and fight a rubber squid.

Not that I in general disagree with Tai regarding the Powerman 5000 video, the lead singer looks like a cactus coming to live at burning man festival. ^^
