Showdown '19: White Gale (C) vs Akamatsu Siblings: Tension Tag Team Title Match

Even though he was on the other team, Lina felt a bit bad for Kyo there, even more so with Kyo still hanging there afterwards. Last time she saw someone execute that move it was the dropkick a chair into an opponent's face, and said person become unhooked and falling after. While Sion didn't use a chair when he did it, the sight and sound of the impact did make Lina cringe on the inside, given she was pretty close to see it.

Keeping things near the team's corner but not exactly in it, Sion lifted Kyo up to his feet, only to snapmare Kyo in front of him. Making sure Kyo comes to a stop in a sitting position, Sion would go off the ropes and look to execute lariat takedown of sorts before pinning Kyo if he managed to succeed in taking him down to her back with it.

Kyo groaned as he was hanging upside-down from the tree of woe. The crowd, after seeing what Kyo had just put Daisuke through, was firmly on Sion's side as Dai's husband hammered Kyo with a vengeance. Eventually, gravity kicked in, and Kyo fell form the turnbuckle, crumpling into a heap at near the corner post.

Sion wasn't done, yet though. Groaning, Kyo felt himself being picked up, before he was suddenly flipped head over heels onto his butt. Sharp pain shot up his tailbone, but he didn't have much time to try to get up before Sion suddenly slammed down against him in a lariat, flattening him onto his back. He was left staring up at the ceiling lights in a daze as his leg was hooked.

The count reached two before Kyo twisted to the side, breathing hard. He wasn't going to be put away so easily, even if Sion did have the upper hand right now.

The sight of Kyo crumpling after the dropkick while hanging upside down gave Lina the impression that Kyo was done for, that did not look pretty. To her surprise Sion wasn't done with just that, but the end result kept Lina's confidence. A look of shock came across her face when Kyo managed to break the count in time. Sion was a little bummed by it as well, but not to the point where he'd say anything about it.

Lifting Kyo up, Sion moved him a couple of feet or so over a bit before delivering a backbracker. If Kyo ended up where Sion wanted him to, he would quickly make a move towards the ropes, leaping to springboard off them and connect with a moonsault for another pin attempt.

Kyo was in trouble now, there was no doubt about that. After having dominated much of the action against Daisuke, he now found himself on a severe back foot against the dynamic Sion, especially now that he was still pretty woozy from that drop kick to the face. The world around him was still spinning, and he could barely make sense of what was happening around him. Which was why he was barely able to resist as Sion pulled him up, lifted him...and then brought him slamming down back-first across his knee.

"AAAAAAAGH!" Kyo screamed, bouncing off of Sion's knee and tumbling to the mat. Kyo was in real trouble now as he was left clutching his hurting back, and could only open one eye in time to see Sion climbing the top rope. Barely able to move, and knowing that in his current state he would be finished by such a blow, Kyo was left helpless Sion came crashing down on top of him, crushing him against the mat...

Springboarding off the middle rope, Sion's takeoff and landing where on point. All that remained was for the referee to count to three. Lina was ready to explode in triumph as soon as the ref's hand came down for a third time, but a look of shocking came across her face when the ref signaled a count of two, as Kyo got a shoulder up at literally the last possible moment.

"No fuckin' way" she said out lout, but not in a yelling tone. Even Sion and Daisuke thought that should have been it, but neither felt the need to question it. Lina on the other hand did ask if the ref if she was sure about it. As that went on, Kyo was again back to his feet as Sion pulled him up. Moving into the direction of his team's corner, Sion lifted Kyo up for a bodyslam. slinging himself off the middle rope didn't finish things, but maybe going higher will.

After hearing Kyo's back making contact with the canvas, Sion stepped through the ropes to go upstairs. Daisuke had to move to give Sion room, but that wasn't an issue. Kyo was still where Sion left him when he got to the top rope. Not one to waste time once he got there, Sion jumped, wanting to put Kyo, and this match away with a shooting star press.

It took a lot of effort on Kyo's part to kick out. Sion's springboard assault had been perfect, hitting Kyo with maximum force with no deviation on impact, and the pain he had felt on that impact spoke volumes for how well implemented it had been. Had Kyo not been in a match with him and being battered to hell and back, he even would have complemented him for how well he had puleld the move off.

As it was, it was all Kyo could do to flop onto his side, breathing hard, barely able to move as his body tried to get sensation back into it. He groaned as he felt Sion lifting him up, and was pulled on unsteady legs towards the WhiteGale corner...before he was unceremoniously lifted up and slammed onto his back.

A hiss of pain escaped Kyo's clenched teeth as he arched up from the impact. He could hear Makie shouting from his corner, and he barely managed to open an eye in time-- Sion was there, climing the top rope. By the look of things, he was going for a shooting star press. Knowing he had only one chance to evade this, Kyo willed his body to move, trying to shoot his knees up under Sion as the other man launched himself downwards...

The take off, Sion's execution of the move, both were on the mark visually. There was just one problem...Kyo had enough in him to get the knees up in time to cause Sion to land into them, taking the wind out of him and putting an end to his team's momentum. Surprisingly, while the end result of that move wasn't pleasant, she wasn't in complete surprise with the sight, as it wasn't the first time the move attempt backfired. Still she didn't look thrilled with the turn of events. The only saving grace that Lina could hope for her was that the impact between the guys would slow Kyo down from being able to move for a tag before Sion could do the same or recover and attempt something else.

Neither thought came to Sion's mind right away as with landing against Kyo's knees felt made the number one thought going through his mind that that wasn't a good idea. Daisuke couldn't help but cridge a little when she saw the end result. While she didn't attempt to influence Sion on coming to her or staying in there, she did however encourage him to get up again, attempting to say so over the referee's double down count.

By the time the ref reached 5, Sion was able to shake off just laying there and holding himself with the occational groan, and actually do something about it. Managing to pull himself back to his feet by the time the ref would have reached 7 if Kyo didn't do anything to get it to end sooner, Sion held on to his mid-section with one arma as he pulled himself back up. As he did, he made up his mind...stay and make up for what happened.

While he was concerned on himself, as would be natural in such a situation, he didn't notice how Kyo was reacting to all of this. He did notice however that Kyo was not in corner when he last saw him, but farther out and over. Neither was himself as when he took the knees it caused him to roll away from the corner a bit in pain, and when he stood back up it wasn't a straight rise. There was no time for him to question it, only to turn and hope he does so fast enough and it right spot to see who or whatever coming his way to see it coming, or at the very least avoid getting struck in the side of back of the head.

Well, Kyo thought to himself as he rolled onto his side, that had been lucky.

Not that it hadn't hurt either, he noted with a groan. Although his timely counter attack had nailed Sion in the chest and countered his finishing shooting star, the impact had still slammed Kyo's back a little against the mat. It was an agonizing slowness that he rolled onto his side...but roll he did, forcing himself to move. If he wanted even an iota of a chance of getting back into this match, he needed to back back on his feet before Sion did.

Getting onto his hands and knees, Kyo managed to get one foot beneath him, and then another. Taking a deep breath, he managed to get back to his feet...just in time to see Sion doing the same.

Without wasting any time, Kyo broke into a charge, figuring that Sion would be slowed down just as much as he was. Raising an arm as though for a clothesline..and anticipating that Sion would probably duck such an obvious move...Kyo instead raised his arm at the last second before bringing it down to brace against the back of Sion's head, while using his free arm to grab Sion's. Completing the move, Kyo would then try to swipe one of Sion's legs out from under him, before tilting backwards, aiming to drive Sion face-first into the mat with a stunner!

Seeing Kyo run in, Lina had a feeling this wasn't going to be pretty, and right she was, but not for the reason she thought. Instead of taking Sion down with a clothesline, he took 'em down with an ace crusher, or stunner, as it's known more commonly known. What Lina saw next gave her more concern than if Sion were drop where he stood. When he snapped back when Kyo dropped do his butt, Sion stumbled in a daze, throwing a couple weak shadow punches before flopping down face first.

Daisuke was just as concerned. She had a feeling that if she didn't do something fast, this could end right there.

Sion's head made a very satisfying thump into the ring as Kyo brought his opponent slamming down. Dropping down to his knees, he paused for a few seconds to catch his breath, his body aching after the rough treatment that Sion had just put him through. His opponent was definitely living up to his reputation, he thought wearily: he had only narrowly managed to turn things around just now.

Leaning across Sion, Kyo hooked his opponent's leg, setting him up for a pinfall. In an instant, the ref was next to them, starting the countdown.
