You're 3 months late. I had my reasons for saying that. They're not very good ones, but they're good enough by my standards.

That being said, could we please stay on topic within this thread? Rather than turn it into a "Lobo was Wrong" thread. I'd like to hear what other ppl have to say about the creation of their various characters.

Thank you.

(Where the fuck did that come from!? ><)

Inspirations for the creation of your chars? - Page 2 Empty Re: Inspirations for the creation of your chars?

Ash came from my playing Brutal Legend. Especially the song "In The Black," which really was sort of a heavy metal repentant love song. Was beautifully up front, in your face, etc. So Jack Black's character in that game was a roadie turned hero, Ash was a roadie. The game is full of gorgeous metal inspired scenery so Ash likes to draw such stuff. In The Black at least seems to at times when the lyrics are intelligible to be about hooking up again with someone you had drifted apart from for your own issues so Ash has loved and lost... and she's a bassist because I absolutely detest being spot on.

Cardia was largely supposed to be the heroine who gets raped a lot but still manages to pull through when it counts. Well, the latter half has been completely dropped from her mission statement. She can go to hell. She sucks. All my characters suck.

I honestly forget what I was doing when I came up with Lia, but introducing Tatyina to all dem toohoo characters probably led me to the character idea, but the personality was something entirely of it's own creation. Constantly cagey, fake cheery, secret badassey, I dunno.

The rest suck, I don't even remember them. All the ones I provided suck too but at least I remember how much they suck.

Also, Molly. She came about because of that awesome picture of the rival from Nurse Witch whatever. I figured I needed a middle of the road girl to launch with Lia. The picture shoehorned me into a cosplay diva, but that left a couple of things. First, I can't write the GLORIOUS NIHONIANS so I needed to have her start from the west and then go to Japan. A proper actor came naturally as a good twist as I kinda liked the idea of trying to emulate some of those acting subtleties. Why she went to Japan and her fighting ability were both wrapped up well by her neatest gimmick: total obsession with her work capable of motivating her into doing extraordinary, but very precise ventures, and an accompanying comic neurosis that gives her a good reason to get away from it all.

Hmmm, Rumi draws appearance-wise from Zazi Rainyday from Negima partly but the rest is just imagination and fits of boredom mixed with interesting ideas~

Kylie draws from a character who is an immortal who ' cleanses the human gene pool' by killing off people who have pyschotic actions, severe mental problems that make them dangerous, violent tendencies etcetera while sparing the good. The name and the rest is imagination~

Sairenji is based off a colder and older version of Sairenji from To-Love-RU mixed with imagination and augmentations~

JoJo is based name-wise from a famous manga series while the rest is Jungle Book mixed with Tarzan and imagination~

The others are far more just characters I dreamt up during boredom while one is from an actual story of mine~

Inspirations for the creation of your chars? - Page 2 Empty Re: Inspirations for the creation of your chars?

Gilroy Magnus- is the spiritual successor to a Harry Potter character I created to be a Muggle 'Straight Man'. His father was a Major in the British Air Force, and his older brother enlisted early on. To make him a little more difficult in this Harry Potter realm, I mixed in a concept drawn from Star Wars books, particularly "I, Jedi" which is about a Jedi who is very gifted at Illusions, but absolutely incapable of telekinesis. The idea that magic(or The Force) could manifest in a user for some abilities and not others was fascinating to me, so HP Magnus got shafted and couldn't use magic outside his own body. This made him rely more on Muggle fighting than Wizard fighting (especially because he gre up during V-mort's second reign). Sex Wars Magnus lost the magic but kept the resilience, problem solving, and jaded outlook.

Rudi Silberruck- Also originally for HP RP. He is Ajax from The Warriors. He was also a Werewolf (no magical blood). Sex Wars Rudi lost the lycanthropy but kept the feral hunger.

Kent- I needed a third. He was based off of Michael Weston (Burn Notice). He was supposed to be here as an undercover agent working on something... but... I've been bad to him.

Lu Zhou Yi- Actually, she's a bit more convoluted than Magnus. Here goes: She is the spiritual reincarnation of a wizzrobe character I had in Hyrule (Legend of Zelda), who is a spiritual reincarnation of a Qin character I had in a prior Hyrule RP who was the product of a botched Ressurection of a male character named Lu Boyan who was a direct theft from Lu Xun of the Three Kingdoms China who had lost to Guan Yu and was exiled and wound up in Hyrule. (Blahh) Lu Boyan was killed, and a Fire Elemental was used to assist in bringing him back to life. The Fire Elemental became intertwined with Lu Boyan's supressed Id. He later learned a technique which allowed him to split himself into two, but because of the Fire Elemental/Id joining, the second became a female Boyan. She disliked Boyan, though knew their connection was important. She took the name Lu Yi (Lu Xun's childhood name). Later (when I switched to a less DBZ Hyrule Rp), Lu Yi's persona came back as a Wizzrobe who was the neice of a major Protagonist (Archduke Chime Makemno Drabaler). Wizzrobes (Being practically Black Mages from FF) cover themselves in weighty robes and guard their flesh like the sight of it could cause unending shame or weakness. This is where AFW Yi gets her... preference to avoid nudity. Here, she returns more to her Lu Xun roots, as a shrewd strategist.

Ada Wiley- people were complaining Yi was such a shrewd. So I made Ada Wiley, who was made to be the silliest, most open about sex that I could make. A little inspiration came from a Shortpacked! Character named Roz DeSanto who is a sexually liberated cam whore. She finally has a little mix of a Big C problem, which is part of the reason why she is so careless with her own beauty, knowing that it is fleeting anyways. I won't be exploring that facet of her background though, or detailing it further.

Lain Iwakura- was inspired by Lain Iwakura. Seriously, go watch Serial Experiments: Lain. It was my first exposure to half-season anime. AFW Lain follows SE Lain exactly, but the question one should ask is: Did what she percieve happening actually happen? Or has she succumb to psychosis.

???- I have a second kawaii in the works based off of Inspector Koichi Zenigata. Some of you have met her in passing...

Inspirations for the creation of your chars? - Page 2 Empty Re: Inspirations for the creation of your chars?

Post by XSirenX Wed May 08, 2013 7:57 pm

Inspiration for creation huh? okies, you got a few I'd like to mention from me~ x3

Reika Suzuka-The inspiration for Reika came from many evil spewing characters, one being Poison Ivy from the DC Comics/Batman rogue's gallery (not the damned movie verse!), since the aspect of her starting off as innocent, frail girl, who later became a powerful fatale enemy of the series. Rei's battle rage in a fight -kinda came from Juri Han, Street Fighter OVA: the Ties that Bind, along with Mortal Kombat's Mileena- and smug alter personality -inspired by Miranda Lawson from the Mass Effect series (so awesome x3)-, just came from the sanity of someone's innocent mind, breaking under the pressures of hatred, revenge, lust, and wanting to fight even more, along with the domineering heel side to her, mixing them altogether to make the two faced Viper of insanity and lusty aura xD overall, a character of dominant evil, along with a few hints of sensual lure to her, kinda like the reptile since Mari's design from Evangelion 2.0, in her form and posture, really gave me the kick to bring Reika to her evil fighter persona. The type to really make her mark in the Heel ranks ;3 too many goody goodie's.

Alice-Alice is the lovable idiot type, plain but not as simple, which was the creation I was going for, a mix of Konata's stubbornness and Otaku-ness/complete nerd from Lucky Star, along with the ditz of Harleen Quinzel, Harley Quinn, mostly from the animated series and comic renditions. While not as evil as Reika, she's the perfect Yang character to the Viper, aspiring to impress her, upbeat personality inspired by Haruhi Suzumiya (fave), along with being quite the punching bag for her, each time Alice herself fails to do something right. She's not the best athlete or wrestler, but she can pull off some wacky moves and tricks of her own xD the backfire comic relief, cameo inducing character, which usually ends up losing rather than winning at anything. Her character also leaves windows open for if she turns more serious, or just a complete klutz :3

Sixx and Beth-Both cruel characters, but not as it all seems for Sixx's persona, while inspired by the ancient warrior clans of assassins, Ninja's and Kunoichi's, I stayed AWAY from the 21st century versions of them. Her cold, never smiling, and emotionless traits usually came from the warriors themselves, silent, yet a deadly threat in disguise, however the story with her hiding her face (mouth predominantly), just came from Ninja pop culture, shrouding themselves to hide something ghastly underneath, like huge fangs or a reptilian face (not really for Sixx xD). However her story is more of pain and a balance between good and evil. Beth was based on the traits of the term a spoilt, cold little girl, added with the twist of being quite the hypnotist on the human mind. Quite the twist, but I always imagined having a evil doll styled character, kinda of like with Saw/horror elements added to her despite her cuteness.

Elena-Inspired by MLP's Fluttershy! xD cute, and full of energy.

Inspirations for the creation of your chars? - Page 2 Empty Re: Inspirations for the creation of your chars?

Ayame Kurosagi-
Ayame was my first OC, I had ever made she was inspired by my fascination with Taekwondo when I was back in highschool. I always had a thing for martial art chicks.

Yu-shin-
Yu-shin was heavily inspired by a lot of things. The first being Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin one of my favorite childhood animes. In a way, I sort of wanted make yu-shin the gold standard of the person I wanted to be. He was compassionate, patient and always so calm. He had done a lot of bad things in his past but, he was trying to redeem himself. I always heavily believed in the theme of redemption and it takes real courage to face it head on and accept responsibility. He represents maturity, responsibility and redemption.

Rei Tomizawa-
Believe it or not, I knew next to nothing about Rei Tomizawa when I made her, I only knew her name and what she looked like. I sort of made it up as I went along with roleplaying her but I soon discovered she really appealed to me. I wondered why no one at AFW would really give Rei a chance and this was because she didn't do all that well in the games and was seen as more or less as a jobber. However, when I found that out it made me think more. However, I saw more value in her than before after I knew this. In the wrestle angel games, Rei gets better a little bit with every game they produce slowly. Therefore I made her a hardworking, fearless but innocent at the same time in her ideals and the goals she strives for. Rei represents the notion that hard work always trumps talent, that a goal can be reached if you work hard to reach it and in the end the only thing standing in your way of those goals is yourself. I'd say Rei is essentially the female Rock Lee from Naruto though not as corny. XD

Inspirations for the creation of your chars? - Page 2 Empty Re: Inspirations for the creation of your chars?

Hmmm lets see if this counts....

Killer King- Well of course as you can see, King is my favorite character in Tekken series, know how moves by heart, King player here. (except doing Rolling Death Cradle combo, only done it once), since Im a big fan of wrestling and having him would be pretty useful here. But, I rather be a Heel than Face any day so this King is more of Armored King 'evil' side, plus his story of him taking on ladies in the match is kind of what I've been through, was a face when I first started RP wrestling but then eventually turn heel and made it all better, pretty darn good at it actually consider Im pretty nice irl XP. But I love mixed wrestling, its something you dont see everyday heh, nothing against ladies at all. I guess hes inspired mostly from me RPing for years, moves from HHH, Steve Austin, various moves used from a lot of wrestlers I like and moves I've learned from watching and reading on tv, online, etc. Oh and from video games too XP. 'Killer' was the name I use from my old YIM account which I dont use anymore, so adding it to King just make him more 'evil' than he is right now <img src=" title="Very Happy" /> So I guess thats it? *shrug*

Inspirations for the creation of your chars? - Page 2 Empty Re: Inspirations for the creation of your chars?

Ryan Knight: I wanted to have a protagonist who was on the side of good. However I also wanted to give him something that would make him the loose cannon of any team. So I made a tragic past combined with illness to create Mr Knight. I also make him as likeable as possible, he looks after many animals and loves the opera. He's also unfailingly polite towards even the worst heels, due to this he has a large fangirl base in-universe.
In short you can feel sorry for the chap and always want him to get back up. (Unless you're mean <img src=" title="Sad" />)

John Grange: Now I had to make this guy the comic relief, like you see in many mangas or anime there's often a butt monkey. The guy who cannot get away with nothing, but he's just so funny and nice that you can't help but root for him. He and Ryan are also contrasting, Ryan likes the opera but John likes 80's and 70's music. Ryan is polite towards the ladies, John likes to brag and showoff (And fail at the same time <img src=" title="Smile" /> )
But also they have similar styles in the ring, all in all I wanted to make an unlikely duo who work well together.

Inspirations for the creation of your chars? - Page 2 Empty Re: Inspirations for the creation of your chars?

Post by Deus001 Thu Jun 05, 2014 10:03 pm

Wanting to revive this thread with my new wrestlers.

Lucy Grange: After a while I realised that I just wasn't good at RP-ing with John Grange, so I decided to create a female foil to Ryan. Someone who was wilder, smaller and more snarky. Since Ryan's a 6'0 tall bloke I figured that Lucy would be short, with a fighting style to match. Ryan focuses on power and all roundedness, Lucy is speedy and a flyer/submission girl. Mr Knight dresses in 10 to 20 grand suits, Lucy is far more casual. So they work well together.

John Carnaby - After the advice that I should create a wrestler who was not linked to the previous train crash that was team mental, I wondered how I'd go about this. Heck I even had trouble coming up with a name for him, so I used John again thinking it was quite generic. I also made his backstory a bit bland as well, just a simple kid with rich parents. Who goes to Japan to be an artist, taking up wrestling is pretty much the most interesting thing about him. Now that I made the UKE I play him as Ryan's right hand man, learning from him and being his best friend.

Eliza Harenwood - When I altered Ryan's backstory to give him this "Poverty child turned self made rich guy." past. I wondered "Surely he'd have made contact with women during this." Enter Eliza, an ex girlfriend of his. A young lady brought up to be an aristocrat, in one fateful ballroom dance Mr Knight "Swept" her off her feet. Her justification for being in the AFW is to meet Ryan again, but I keep her open to anything else for the sake of stories.

Damus Kirenko - Now it's not all happy and romantic in the upper class world, and Damus is to reflect that. He's the type of aristocrat who schemes and connives his way through things, the evil counterpart to Mr Knight. I took inspiration from the lawful evil figures of fiction, E.G Darth Vader, Dr Doom etc and made him into a sort of tyrant. If Eliza and Ryan are the people who know showing respect is a sign of true nobility, then Damus is the noble who'd imprison people just cause he could.

Qi Lingxian - I found myself wanting to try and diversify, try different fighting styles to make my rp's more fun. So I decided on a martial artist, one that had a rather cliché️d backstory. Orphan moved into dojo and trained to use power for good, but dammit in business management class in high school I was taught diversification is key!

Hao Hichiman - Not gonna lie, I kinda made him on a whim lol. I guess my main reason for making him is to diversify. Create a samurai sort of character, one that's quite badass but also flawed due to personal honour.
