Ryu lays down panting and blushing, taking these moments to recover a little amount of his strenghts.

Ryu's "plan" was to take time to recover some strenghts actually, but he couldn't pull back when she teasingly invited him to show what he got, raising amused reactions from the crowd. And, she was right: she had been sweeping the ring with him so far.
"Well, guess it'd be too rude of me to have you wait...". With that he thrusted forward. Not wasting time, he tried to take grab of her wrist and pull her from her teasing stance, unbalancing her forward. If unstopped, he would then attempt on a judo-style arm-throw.

But regreting his imprudence was pointless now.
