Jean Grey vs Reika Hasegawa

"Tch," was all Reika said in reply. Her face was reddening slightly, but she was still showing very little in the way of pain. Either she had an incredibly high pain tolerance, or her self-control was remarkable.

Either way, Reika dug her heels into the mat, twisting her body to try to extend her leg towards the ropes...all the while breathing heavily, her head lying against the mat as Jean worked over her arm.

As Reika squirmed Jean would suddenly lean back into Reika's, throwing her head back as she tried to torque Reika's shoulder at an angle greater than 90 degrees. Of course she did not expect Reika to tap right then and there but she would try to elicit a cry from her for the fans enjoyment.

"Ggh...nnngh..." Reika grunted a little as Jean wrenched her arm tighter, breathing heavily through clenched teeth. Her eyes were shut, and it was obvious that she was hurting, but still, she refused to scream. Stretching her legs back as far as they would go, she barely managed to get her toes over the bottom rope.

"Not...bad..." she managed to rasp. "Now let go."

Jean smiled but was sporting enough to let go and back up a bit. She backed all the way to center of ring and gestured at Reika to bring it and was more than willing to start from a neutral position again.

Slowly, Reika stood back up, eyeing Jean coldly. Her stance and expression didn't have the same disdain as they did before, however-- now she seemed to have a little more respect for her opponent.

As Jean backed away, the blonde moved towards her, raising her arms for a lockup. Without waiting for Jean to reciprocate, she lunged forwards to tie up with her opponent.

Jean took the lock up enthusiastically. The two might be of equal strength but Jean would eagerly go to test that theory out as best she could try to shove Reika this way and that and perhaps to corner if she got lucky enough or if Reika did not fight back hard enough.

Once again, the two of them locked up, pushing and twisting against each other. As they struggled in the centre of the ring, though, Reika's calm face formed a slow smile.

Shifting her grip to Jean's wrists, Reika suddenly dropped back, shooting her legs forward around Jean's waist. If she was successful in scissoring the other girl, she would use her momentum and Jean's to drop back fully, hopefully flipping her over onto her back and, potentially, ending up straddling Jean's waist and pinning her wrists to the mat in a dominant position.

As Reika wrapped her thighs around Jean's waist, the redhead threw back her ehead and gave a brief yell. The hold would force her to be brough to her knees. She rested her hands Reika's thighs but would be unable to pry them apart right away. If reika worked her with the hold eough she might be coaxed onto her back. Reika would then be able to pin her wrists down and maybe have a chance to gloat. But then Jean shot her own legs up in front of reika's shoulders and would push back on her and down and if she pushed Reika with enough force, jean herself would sit up and hug Reika's bare legs while trying to force ehr bac down on mat for pinning position.

Reika's eyes widened faintly in surprise as she found her hold reversed-- she was now on her back, her legs trapped and her own shoulders pinned down under Jean's shapely legs. This girl was MUCH better than she had first thought, she realized. Unlike Mimete and Bunny, she would probably have to go all-out in order to defeat her.

Before the ref could even begin the countdown, Reika grabbed at Jean's ankles and twisted her body, barely getting a shoulder up as she jerked, aiming to get Jean onto her back and reverse their position.

Jean squawked in surprise as Reika pushed back and put her on her shoulders with her legs up. The ref counted to two before Jean would attempt to once more kick with enough force to put Reika back down on her back and put her in the same pinning position as befoe though this time, if Reika fought out, Jean would let her go completely and roll away.
