Wolf brought his hands up in defense, not wanting to step on any toes with the comment about his son’s sexuality. They’d both grown up in a less progressive sort of time - he wouldn’t go so far as to call his parent’s homophobic, but they were closer to it than most would find comfortable these days. His own opinions had changed a great deal over the years, and having a bisexual daughter was a big help in that department. His objection to the company Cheyenne kept had nothing to do with their sex, just...everthing else.

”Nothing wrong with that.” He brought his glass up and tilted it from side to side, rolling the cubes around as his own thoughts rolled with them. It was a bold idea, and it would be a hard sell for Cheyenne, but…

”How about this.” He leaned forward, elbows on the table, as if he was about to lay out a master scheme. It was one of the better ideas he’d had in a while. ”My girl could use a little positive influence in her life, and your boy sounds like he’s on the money. Assuming I can get her to go along with it, let’s set them up for a little date. Somewhere nice, quiet, polite. If we’re lucky, maybe some of Katsuo will rub off on her.”

Or some of her would rub off on him, but Wolf knew better than to float that possibility out loud.

Sometimes Dasher wishes people would have gotten to meet his Grandfather and witness firsthand where exactly his gruff demeanor and stoic manliness originated from. If people thought Dasher was a stubborn mule set in his ways, then their heads would probably explode upon meeting the mountain of scarred muscles and roaring chauvinistic surliness that was his guardian/wrestling coach. They'd probably end up forgiving Dasher of all of his transgressions and consider him the patron saint of women's rights in comparison. As opposed to him, Dasher was somewhat more accepting of people who...swung that way. Although he wondered if that's how kids refer to it these days.

Dasher munched upon his chicken with swishing of his mighty jawline as he followed along with what his compatriot had concocted, afterward leaning back into his chair with his eyes closed and arms folded in humming contemplation. Abruptly jutting his head up. "Hmm...an interesting proposition. But what do you say to this? How about we try to set up our kids on a little friendly rendezvous? My boy's polite level-headedness and sense of honorable responsibility when it comes to wrestling can perhaps make Cheyenne see the faults in this bad influence of hers. Whatsay you to that, Old Chum?" Dasher proposed with his index finger pointed to the roof and grinning smile on his face. In essence stating the same idea as Wolf, except it sounded far more genius coming from his mouth instead.

Wolf looked on as Dasher made that face - his thinking look. He wasn’t sure how to take that right away, worried that he might’ve been crossing a line. It was kind of a crazy idea, like something out of a sitcom, but then again, they were professional wrestlers - ‘crazy’ was part of the job description. While the two of them had their differences, they both shared that kind of thinking, and he was fairly certain they could meet in the middle with this.

And he was right.

The fact that Dasher had pretty much just repeated the same damn thing Wolf said hadn’t gone unnoticed, and with just about anyone else, it might’ve irked him. But the two of them hadn't been apart so long that he’d forgotten how his old drinking buddy worked. This was par for the course. ”Sounds like a solid idea.” He gave a solemn nod, agreeing with Dasher’s brilliant idea. ”I’ll softsell it to her, make it sound like just a simple lunch invitation so she’ll go along with and...we’ll see how it works.”

Ha, Dasher's brilliance and keen acumen for problem solving have never failed him in the past, and that trend continues today by formulating this ingenious idea all on his lonesome. A solution poised to remedy both of their aforementioned parental problems as his boy Katsuo would assuredly become a sterling role model for Cheyenne and whose wholesome habits would eventually rub off on her. And Cheyenne's spirited personality can perhaps offer his boy life experiences aside from wrestling to make him a more well rounded individual...and get that boy's dating life a severe kick in the pants. Even DASHER had several girl friends when he was that boy's age...

"Indeed, and I will do the same with my boy first thing tomorrow morning. Come, here's to furthered prosperity between our families and wrestling glory as yet to be claimed!!!"
Dasher bellowed merrily with a jovial smile before rising his sake cup in front of them, wishing to conclude their parental matchmaking with an amicable toasting of their alcoholic beverages. A night of drinking merriment still to be had between the like-minded grapplers...with Dasher graciously allowing his compatriot to foot the bill that is.
