Charlie waited and once he saw Army come at him he used his shortness to an advantage. Once Army was close enough Charlie dropped and rolled underneath the clothesline. Charlie understood that to really get Army down he'd have to act quickly all night. This guy was a human tank. A few good strong shots to his face and Charlie would be done, or in a really bad spot. Charlie also assumed that by now this guy knew his fair share of good slams. With his power those moves could be just as bad as his hard punches.

As soon as Charlie rolled underneath, he would hop up into the air and hit Army with a dropkick square in the back, or the chest if Army happened to turn around in time.

Army vs. Charlie: Boxer Against Flyer - Page 2 Empty Re: Army vs. Charlie: Boxer Against Flyer

Army came at Charlie with a wide swing, but the height difference worked against him - the high-flying freak ducked it easy and moved underneath. Army knew that sort of thing was going to happen a lot tonight, but that didn't make it any less irritating.

He turned around just in time for Charlie to greet him with the first solid hit of the night, a drop kick that slammed hard into his chest, both boots planted right on the pecs. Army didn't fall, but he came damn close, falling back against the ropes and leaning back on them, taking a moment to catch his breath and glare back at Charlie. Before he could move back in, though, he caught some movement out of the corner of his eye, and heard the crowd start to stir up. He knew why right away, too - his sister was coming down to the ring.

She had been running late, caught up in some business setting up a future match, but she promised she would be there for him, and for all the little problems they had with each other, Army knew she'd keep the promise - Carmen was a woman or her word. She was casually strolling down to the ring, looking like she'd just walked in off the street - long jeans, grey wifebeater, and those sandals she was so fond of wearing everywhere. Simple getup.

Army gave her the briefest of glances before he bounced off the ropes and took the fight back to Charlie, raising his leg up to try and hit him with a Big Boot - dipping more into the wrestling bag, now.

Charlie wasn't surprised to see that the dropkick only pushed Army to the ropes... but deep down he'd hoped it would floor him. Shoulda known better. Charlie also heard a bit of a stir from the crowd and the lady walking down to the ring. Was she a manager? No way, she was dressed super casual and not flashy at all. It sort of reminded him of something Alaina would have worn ringside if she was watching out for one of her friends.

Must be his girlfriend. She was pretty in a tomboy sort of way. Unfortunately, the quick glance Charlie gave her was his undoing. As he looked back at Army the only thing he saw was a big foot, inches away from his face. "Ah sh...mmppphnh!" Charlie grunted out as he ate a big boot and hit the mat hard.

Army could see that the only reason Charlie even got hit was because he got distracted by his sister, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to roll with it. Wasn't like he could unkick him in the face, after all, might as well enjoy it.

"¿Qué️ pasa, sis?" Army gave her a little wave before he started to pick Charlie up, grabbing him by the hair for a solid grip. "What took you so long? Spot some girls on the way? Anyone I might like?"

"You're hilarious. And no, they all had dignity, so none were your type." She gave him the deadpan tone as she moved to the ringside and leaned on the apron, looking on in. "Who's this guy?"

"New friend." Army yanked Charlie into a headlock and started to squeeze, putting the pressure on his head as his muscles tightened. "Carmen meet Charlie, Charlie meet Carmen."

"Hola." She gave him a quick wave and a smile. "Don't go too rough on my brother, man."

Oh... a brother and sister bash team. Lovely. Charlie grunted as he was yanked up by the hair and put into a solid headlock. He was surprised that Carmen was talking to him as casually as she did ringside. "Little old me? I don't think I could be rough if I tried." He answered Carmen with a hint of sarcasm. Having her there was an advantage for Army. If only he had someone ringside to distract her... like L.C. Yeah, he'd completely throw Carmen off her game with his adorable corgi-ness.

As much as he'd love to chat, he was in a bad spot that he needed to get out of. Charlie would try to grab Army and give him a hard shove, hoping to send him against the ropes. Next step? Rush Army and hit him with a roundhouse kick to the face right when he bounced back off the ropes, running right back at Charlie.

"And now that we've got introductions out of the way..." Army powered down on the hold, but he was still a little inexperienced with this whole 'wrestling' concept...okay, a lot experienced. He must have not locked it properly, because Charlie was able to get out of after a few seconds, forcing Army to stumble forward from the sudden shift.

By the time Army got his bearings, he looked up to see Charlie's foot coming right at his face, and it crashed hard, enough power to match even some of the nastiest punches he'd taken back home. He jerked up and his head snapped to the side as he fell back, his mind scrambled for a precious moment as he reeled from the harsh blow.

"All right! He's down and now its time to go to work!" Charlie thought to himself. Getting into a striking contest with a boxer wasn't high up on Charlie's to-do list. If he was gonna wear him down before the turnbuckle became his second home, he'd have to do it through a few holds. It seemed like a safer bet at least.

Charlie quickly made his way over to Army, grabbing his legs to flip him over. "Just gotta get this big guy over and choke up on his legs a bit...." Charlie thought to himself as he attempted to put Army into a boston crab. "So, Carmen are you guys kinda-sorta new to Japan too? Do you know of a good dog groomer or dog sitter per chance?" Charlie asked as he tried to secure the hold.

It was a pretty nasty kick, but not enough to put Army down for the ten count - he was starting to make his way back up when Charlie moved back and flipped around like a pillow, putting the warm side down. Even Army was familiar enough with wrestling to have a good idea what was coming, but he was powerless to stop it. Sure enough, Charlie put him in a boston crab and locked it tight, forcing Army to start crawling towards the ropes.

Carmen looked like she could be in the middle of a casual day at the park. "Hm?" She looked up when Charlie called her name. "Few months now, if you want to call that 'new'. Don't know anything about dogs, sorry, but I'll keep an eye out."

"Ok thanks.. whoa!" Charlie said in surprise as Army began making fast progress towards the ropes. Charlie figured the big guy would be strong and robust but hol-E-shit, this guy was no joke. Charlie knew he wouldn't have time for small talk with the newest spectator otherwise he'd be KOed in seconds against this guy.

"Let go of the hold kid, he's at the ropes!" The referee shouted to Charlie. Charlie was sarcastic, and at times he could be a dick. However, he avoided shady ring tactics and let go of the hold immediately. If Army was going to get back up onto his own two feet it would be on Charlie's terms. He grabbed his opponent by the arm, pulling him to his feet and using as much force as he could muster to send Army into a corner turnbuckle.

Well, he let go of the hold. So that was an improvement, Army figured.

Before he could get up, Charlie helped him straighten up, only to toss him over into the corner with as much strength as he could muster, which turned out to be a damn sight more than Army'd bargained for. He hit the corner hard enough to make the ring shake, and leaned back against it, slumping down but keeping on two feet.

He was winded, but not quite as winded as he was letting on, with plenty left in the tank. Sneakiness wasn't his thing, but he had a few tricks for the right occasions, and overselling was one that served him well before, even in the boxing ring.
