Re: Army vs. Charlie: Boxer Against Flyer
Charlie was getting ready to whip Army into the ring, but when he pulled up on Army he felt like nothing but dead weight.
"Oh... damn man. Shit." Charlie thought his foe would face-plant on the floor, becoming dazed and Charlie could hit him with a diving attack, but it looked like he wouldn't have to now. Charlie struggled to carry Army over towards the ring attempting to lift him up onto the apron and roll him underneath the ropes.
"Damn man you are heavier than you look..." Charlie said as he strained to lift Army.

Re: Army vs. Charlie: Boxer Against Flyer
Army was only a few pennies shy of two dollar - almost 200 pound of raw, Puerto Rican man meat. He was unconscious, dead to the world. No way she was lifting that alone. He needed help, and Carmen came over to oblige him, taking him by the other arm as they dragged him into the ring. "For the record, he isn't as heavy as he looks." She grunted, buckling down as they push him in back over the apron. "He's heavier."
Army's limp body rolled into the ring and the referee started to count him out, but Carmen couldn't fathom why she bothered. She'd seen enough knocked out people to know he wouldn't be getting back up for a few minutes.

Re: Army vs. Charlie: Boxer Against Flyer
"Uh.... thanks." Charlie said as Carmen helped him get Army to the ring. He was very happy for the help and even happier not to get smashed from behind like he expected. Army did have a big mouth... but during the match he fought fair. Perhaps his sister also being a good sport shouldn't have surprised him. Right now the only thing that Charlie wasn't happy with was the fact that luck just as much as skill seemed to have gotten him to this point in the matchup.
As Army was rolled in, Charlie gingerly climbed in himself. After dragging Army away from the ropes, Charlie covered him for the pin and the referee began to count. "Thanks for kinda seeing that I'm not one of those 'kick a guy when he is KOed' types." He said to Carmen with a nod.
"One!"

Re: Army vs. Charlie: Boxer Against Flyer
"Two!"
"De nada." The crowd seemed confused on Carmen helping Charlie, but maybe there just too accustomed to people at ringside interfering in matches. That wasn't Carmen's thing. If Charlie had given her brother a cheap shot, she would have been in there in a heartbeat...but, no, Charlie was a good guy. A little weird, but nice. The AFW could use a little more 'nice'.
"Three!"
The bell clanged on cue, giving Charlie his first victory in the AFW and Army his latest in a little string of defeats. With any luck, her brother would start to realize the importance of working on his wrestling and getting the techniques down. She doubted he would, of course, but hope springs eternal.

Re: Army vs. Charlie: Boxer Against Flyer
"Um, thanks for not punching me when we were down at ringside. That was very nice of you." Charlie called to Carmen as he tried to drag Army over to her. "Do ya need help getting him backstage or anything?"
Charlie figured the best thing to do was return kindness with a bit more kindness. Non-back stabby folks were hard to find in the AFW, so he figured he'd play nice with anyone who didn't go out of their way to be a dick to everyone else. Still.... he couldn't deny that nabbing a debut win felt awesome. Hell Alaina lost her first match and Charlie estimated that her ceiling was way above his. In terms of physical tools she had it all while he had speed and that was about it. Her technique would come along before too much time passed the way she worked.
At least, for the moment, Charlie hadn't lost yet.

Re: Army vs. Charlie: Boxer Against Flyer
Carmen stood on the tips of her toes, getting a good look at Army while the ref dropped down and gave him a look over. As near as she could tell, he looked like he was developing a pretty sizable lump on that big forehead of his, and he'd probably have a headache for days...but nothing serious, no concussion. If there was one thing Army could do well, it was take a shot to the head.
"Hm?" She stood up straight and looked up his way, giving him a soft smirk. "You're welcome, niño. My brother started the fight, if he couldn't finish it on his own, that's his problem. Not mine. I just come down here to support him, watch his back in case someone else tries to mess around."

Re: Army vs. Charlie: Boxer Against Flyer
"Ah, gotcha. Well the trash talk was sort of funny." Charlie admitted. He knew he had the appearance of a stoner even if he hadn't smoked anything other than the occasional cigar in a very long time. "He'll probably be up and madder than a hornet in no time I'd wager. Nice meeting ya anyway." Charlie said as he climbed out of the ring to some cheers and shook Carmen's hand. It was the least he could do, and he did respect the fact that she was there to look out for, not interfere for, her brother.
Even though his arrival in Japan was very rocky, it looked like the trip was going to pay off for Charlie.
Winner- Charlie Haines via pinfall.
