Blonde on Blonde

Chris probably wasn’t trying to be mean - in fact, Valley knew she wasn’t. Despite what people though. Chris Morgan was one of the nicest wrestlers Valley had ever met, in the AFW or anywhere else.

But she couldn’t help but be a little wistful at the comment about her youth, having just hit 32 a few weeks ago. ”Nope. No, I am not.”

Valley made her way to the center of the ring and got her hands up, challenging Chris to a elbow-and-collar. ”And Valentine’s fine. Gets a little playtime with Haley’s cat every now and then, so he has a playmate.” She wiggled her fingers and leaned in, daring Chris to take the challenge. ”Why? You want him to visit?”

"Val. Don't take it that way..." Chris said, hearing something in the way her friend responded to the jab about her age. "I've seen girls younger than you try and fail to do some of the stuff you just did. There is still plenty of mileage left in you."

Stepping close to Valley, she got ready to lock up with her friend as she talked about Valentine.

"Aw, I wouldn't want to deprive him of a playmate. Besides, when you left him with me, there was a time he decided to be a jerk and pounce on my stomach when I dozed off on the couch. So maybe 'my favorite feline' is a little strong."

With that she locked up with Valley in the collar-elbow tieup. Although she had the strength advantage, Chris knew to be wary when it came to dealing with Val. So, instead of simply trying to bull rush her friend back into the nearest corner, Chris would try to seize Val's wrist that was at her shoulder and move into a standing wristlock. A basic controlling hold, and one she knew Valley would be able to escape from.

In fact she was counting on it.

Chris was betting on Valley using the roll through method to try and escape the wristlock. If she did, she would cock back her arm, and just when Val finished her tumble, step forward and throw a hooking clothesline across the smaller woman's chest!

Valley appreciated Chris’ words of comfort, but still, the seeds had been planted. These were thoughts that had been rattling around in her brain for a good, long while now.

”Eh, he’s getting fat. And thanks for the vote of confidence, but…” Valley grunted as Chris started to transition out of the collar and elbow, moving to the classic - and effective - wristlock. Her height seemed to make it especially potent. Not unworkable, though.

”Lot of new girls with a lot of talent these days. Trying to figure out how I fit into it.” She bit her lips and started to dip down. ”Head’s up!”

Valley rolled forward and came out of the wristlock, getting ready to reverse it. ”Like Mom said-”

Before Valley could regale Chris with some of her Mother’s homespun wisdom, she was hit with a short, nasty clothesline that took her clean off her feet. Valley held onto the arm all the way, but that was about all she could do.

”Ugh.” She grunted, shaking it off. ”Nice one.”

Clotheslines and lariats. They were among the first the first moves Chris had learned back when she was nineteen, and definitely her favorite striking moves. Even without a running start the Californian had enough raw strength to floor someone with them.

Seeing how Valley still had a hold of her arm, Chris would use it to pull Valley up to her feet so they could get back to a neutral position.

"Are you ok?" Chris asked. Seeing how much of a hard knockdown that looked like, she felt like should check up on Val. "And what would your mom say?"

Valley was used to taking clotheslines, but there was a difference between a regular one and the Chris Morgan variety. The latter was a lot more compact, more painful, and practically planted you into the mat, as Valley could readily attest.

She gladly took the help back up to her feet and shook some sense back into her head, rapidly blinking. ”Woof. Yeah, I’m fine. Good hit.”

Valley shrugged and moved back to the center of the ring, getting her guard up for another round. Had to watch out for those arms of hers more. So powerful, so deadly. ”Oh, right. Mom always said that a wrestler only has so many matches in her, you know? No way of knowing how or when, but one day, you reach your limit, and that’s it.” She shook her legs out and lowered her stance. ”Just wondering how many I’ve got to go.”

"Hmm..." Chris mused over the words of Val's mom. She could get behind the sentiment....except for one bit of it.

"That's true, I suppose. The part of every wrestler having only so many matches in her. But, unless you get a major injury, I think you can see when the day where you hang up the wrestling gear is approaching. But you know what we say until then, Val?"

Chris settled into her own ready stance, smiling at her friend. It was rare when got to quote one of her favorite TV shows, Game of Thrones. But, the line sprang to mind, and as dorky as it may have seemed, Chris had to say it. Not only that, but it seemed relevant.  

"Not today!"

With that, she would suddenly charge at Val. Seeing the other blonde lower her stance, Chris went to grab Valley, looking to lace both hands over the blonde's short hair on the back of her head in a clinch. She would then draw back a knee then slam it forward, not at her friend's head, but up into her stomach, looking to knock some air out of Val while keeping her in close. The hope was that in such extreme close range, Valley couldn't utilize those lethal legs, with their devastating kicks, while letting Chris stay close enough to set up the more powerful slams and throws in her playbook....

Valley loved Chris to pieces, but her homegirl could be so corny, sometimes.

She got the distinct impression that there was a reference there, somewhere, but damned if she could get it. Hardly mattered much at the moment, though, with a giant, raging blonde heading straight towards.

Valley tried to backpeddle, but the tricky thing about a wrestling ring was those pesky ropes. She could only go so far, as Chris caught her when she reached the limit, driving that knee of hers deep in the Slamazon’s stomach.

It wasn’t the end of the world, not the most devastating thing, but it did drop Valley to her knee for a second. She got back up a second later, but when she did, she was holding her stomach and stumbling, still reeling from the attack.

With Valley reeling, Chris it was the time to strike witha rattling slam. She dismissed the thought of using something truly devastating, like a powerbomb. This was a spar after all.

Bending down as Val straightened back up, the colossal Californian placed one hand on her fellow blonde"s shoulder. The other reached up between her legs, securing a hold just above the swell of what Chris knew would be Val's toned, firm rear. Then the former Wrestle Angel would attempt to lift Valley up, holding her so she wss pressed crossways against Chris's body.

Taking a few steps back away from the ropes, she would then set herself before throwing her body backwards while flinging Val over and behind her in a fallaway slam!

Chris, as she was wont to do with her hulking strength, lifted Valley with ease. That was expected, of course. Chris Morgan’s specialty was lifting things and slamming them down with excessive force.

What might not have been as expected, though, was the particular position she was put in. That had her eyes widening, when she realized it was going to be a move she particularly distasted. ”Come on, not the-”

The fallaway slam sent Valley spinning through the air, doing a full rotation before she came down hard on her chest. Always hated that move, left her so dizzy and made her stomach churn. Valley rolled with the impact and got to her feet fast, but she wasn’t able to do much more than that, as she leaned against the turnbuckle and took a second to recuperate.

Getting back to her feet, Chris watched as Valley made her way back to a standing position and then went into the corner. She had heard Val's protest just before she released her friend to send her hurtling to the canvas.

"How are you doing, Val?" she asked. "Want to stop, maybe grab some water for a bit?"

She stopped for a second.

"And wait a sec, were you about to complain about the throw?" Chris added, wondering exactly what had prompted the Slamazon to start to say 'Come on' just as she was about to be flung....
