[ONE] Round One Match: Melody Serperior vs Makie Akamatsu

With Melody still recovering from the leg drop, she only somewhat managed to push herself up when Makie roughly shoved her back to the mat to hook Melody's leg for a pin attempt.

Upon hearing the very audible one count Melody tried to collect her strength. Just before ref called for a two count, Melody launched her arm into the air to lift her shoulder, and to kick out of the pin in process.

Just as the count reached one, Makie felt Melody twist underneath her, breaking the pinfall. Kneeling upright, she wasted no time in grabbing her opponent by the head, before pressing a knee into her back and wrenching back on her chin in a camel clutch!

"You think you're tough, huh?" Makie breathed. "Let's see how tough then."

Makie gave no time to Melody to recover after the pinfall attempt, as she shoved her on her stomach, before promptly sitting on Melody and locking in a Camel Clutch

Melody screamed as Makie applied the pressure on her back with the move. This was the worst situation to be in a tourney like that, since submission moves could leave lasting damage going forward in the tourney. And truth be told, answering Makie's question in her head, Melody wasn't very tough with handling submissions.

Worst part was, a move like Camel Clutch didn't allow much of movement towards the ropes, and right now they were fairly far away.

If she were to win this there was only one way out of the move. She pulled her feet, trying to get just a little bit of a standing base. With that done, she tried to push herself and Makie upwards. If Makie was still clinging to Melody by that point, she would drop onto her back, dropping Makie on her back and sandwiching the girl between herself and the canvas of the ring.

Makie gritted her teeth as she leaned back, wrenching at Melody's chin and punishing the back of her neck. Truth to be told, Makie wasn't that great with submission holds, but the camel clutch was thankfully a very simple and effective move to pull off. Just get a good handhold in there, and pull...

Suddenly, she felt Melody jerking to her feet underneath her. Slowly but surely, Melody pushed up to her feet. Before Makie had the presence of mind to let go, Melody fell back, ramming Makie hard into the ring! "UHHH!" she gasped, sandwiched violently between the ring and her opponent, and she instantly released Melody, gasping and breathing hard from the impact.

After successfully countering Makie's Camel Clutch, Melody rolled off of her opponent and started to rub her sore back. The move caused massive strain on her spine (very likely why it was still used by many people in wrestling as their finisher), but she had to strain it even further to get out of the hold.

There wasn't time to lose, however. Melody turned back to Makie and try to get her back to her feet. Not intending to keep it that way for long, Melody would put her head under Makie's arm in order to lift her opponent up for a Northern Lights Suplex!

Makie's back throbbed dully after being rammed to the mat like that. Rolling onto her front, she gingerly pushed herself to her hands and knees, clutching at her back with one hand as she did so. She quickly found herself being helped up by Melody...a fact that set off alarm bells, as she knew instinctively what was going to come next.

As Melody wrapped her up and put a head under her arm, Makie would try to throw an elbow back. If she was fast enough, or if it stopped Melody, then she would spin behind Melody and try to nail her with a suplex of her own...otherwise, she would be unable to stop Melody and planted hard into the mat by her opponent's move.

Makie dazed Melody by launching an elbow at her back, grunting at the hit. This paused her for a moment before she lifted Makie, but that moment was all her opponent needed.

She quickly got behind Melody, and got her hands around her with a waist, and before Melody could even try to get Makie's hands away, the girl already threw her onto her upper back with a German Suplex! A sharp pain went through Melody's shoulders, neck and upper back, as Melody feared what Makie's next move was going to be!

Makie felt Melody's grip soften at the elbow, and her grip slacken. The next step was daily natural: ducking low, she darted in behind Melody, wrapped her arms around her waist, and arched back. Although Makie wasn't a titanic powerhouse, she still knew how to deliver a short but effective suplex.

Crashing onto her back next to Melody, she took a short breath before rolling to her feet again. Not wanting to give Melody time to recover, she grabbed onto Melody's arm, yanked her to her feet, and whipped her across the ring. The moment Melody came running past, Makie would duck under her, leap off the ropes and rebound, aiming to take her foe by surprise with a surprise moonsault!

Not waisting any time, Makie would get Melody back to her feet, before Melody could even properly react to getting hit with a German Suplex. Makie didn't go for a cover from the move, likely knowing that Melody would've kicked out, and would launch the green-hair into the ropes. Rebounding, Melody outstretched her hand to try and nail Makie with a clotheline, but her opponent would simply duck, before running to the ropes herself.

Instinctively, Melody ran towards Makie, but that would prove to be a mistake, as she rebounded off the ropes and jump at standing Melody with a moonsault! In no way was she prepared to catch Makie, and Melody went tumbling down as Makie landed on her.

The moonsault went off without a hitch: Melody was still caught in her own momentum, running after Makie at full speed, when the Akamatsu girl sprang off the ropes at her, slamming into her bodily. The ring shook as the two of them slammed to the mat, Melody cushioning Makie's fall as she went toppling underneath her.

"WOOO!" Makie shouted, raising an arm to the crowd. She was pumped on adrenaline right now, especially since she was kicking ass in this match so far. Grabbing one of Melody's green-clad legs, she hooked it back, wrapping the other girl up for another pinfall. In an instant, the ref girl was starting the countdown again.

"ONE..."
