AV 20 Hardcore Championship - River Styx (c) vs Galina Romerno

Galina had first blood.

Something about that kind of pissed Styx right the fuck off.

It didn’t matter, really. It was an easy enough thing to have happen in a hardcore match. She wasn’t all that heavily clothed, wearing a t-shirt with nothing under it, so in the middle of getting tossed around and pushed and shoved and falling in an area with all sort of bric-a-brac, it wasn’t that surprising.

But something about having it happen so early, with Galina...yeah, that was wracking the nerves a bit.

Styx was rarely in a happy mood, but she was far less so than usual when she sat up and got her bearings, shaking her head about after the crash. Her first priority was finding Galina, and lucky her, the Russian wasn’t difficult to find. She was close. Really close. Too close. Leaping on her, pinning her down, and pounding away.

The two of them might’ve had a vast difference in weights, but even a 100 pounds was a lot when it was on your chest and you were flat on the floor. Styx took one punch to the face, one can to the face, then another punch, then another can, punch, can, until she got enough wits to plant her feet and buck up, throwing her opponent off like a bucking bronco. Getting her head rocked like that hadn't done wonders for her equilibrium, but all the same, she made a mad scramble to rise up as soon as possible, getting to her feet with a stumbling start.

This was the kinda thing Galina was a big fan of, just a brawl with booze involved. The Rose of Russia had done this on both sides before, mixing in some hard fists with the sting of the beer can. Hard shots with hard shots! For a hard hitting combination! The Gypsy was making sure that Styx was getting a taste of the fury of Mother Russia here tonight, with Galina even making sure the colour red was showing up there quite nicely. Galina was making sure that the people were gonna know the name of the Rose of Russia in her debut here and push Styx to her limit.

It seemed that the champ was getting the memo here as she was mustering up the resolve and grit to buck off the Rose of Russia, Galina was so focused on trying to take the fight to Styx that she hadn't really sought to enforce a locking in with the ground game as it were. Given the weight difference it allowed Styx to with enough effort force the Gypsy off her, sending the crumped beer can off to the side as Galina landed on her butt with a grunt of noise from her.

Galina chuckled a little and then burped from that beer she drank earlier, Styx had to be feeling that. The Gypsy would get up to a more vertical position and try to make her way to the champ and try to drop down a double ax handle attack on the champ's neck to give her some motivation!

What was the worst thing, here? It wasn’t getting bashed with the beer can. It wasn’t the situation she’d found herself in, as annoying as it was. It wasn’t the crowd having chuckles as the little redhead worked her over.

No, the cherry on the shit sundae was that this wasn’t even good beer. It was some shitty Japanese brand with a name she didn’t even care enough to know how to pronounce.

That, among other things was what left Styx in an increasingly sour mood, ticking her off to greater and greater degrees. That was a good thing - anger was a great way to work through pain, and she used it as she began to rise up, pushing off the floor and getting up to a single knee. She hadn’t had long to be in that position, though, before her opponent came barreling towards her at full tilt, moving wild and fierce.

Instead of blocking the incoming attack - never her style - she took it head on, bursting out of a crouch and charging forward with all her speed and fury. She ducked down under Galina’s axe handle and attempted to tackle her in the chest, looking to drive her straight into the crowd before security could even dream of getting everyone in the clear.

Galina was thinking that Styx was feeling this, good. No matter what the Gypsy would burn the wounds into Styx's very soul if need be, it'd be better if Galina could walk away with the title as well. Either way Styx would learn that Galina liked violence and beer in equal measure, but it seemed that the champ wasn't very fond of the brand variety that the Gypsy had battered her with. That had made two of them actually, but the redhead was more concerned with pounding the shit out of Styx there. Hence why she decided to try and bring down her hands down on Styx's skull and make her taste some concrete!

It turned out however that the champ had other ideas, because as Galina was getting into the motions of it the champ was gonna fire out of a crouch. Nulling the attack and plowing right into the Gypsy, Galina let out a loud grunt and spittle flew from her mouth as Styx tackled her. With such speed that security didn't have much time to get the crowd out of the way!

At this point Galina had no clue where she was exactly, all that she knew on that front was that she smacked into some people. Guys and girls alike from the feeling of trousers and skirts, didn't do much to cushion the impact though or numb the pain in her gut from Styx crashing into her hard like that. Galina knew she was in a real bad spot here, on instinct she tried to shuffle one of her arms into position to at least try and yank at an ear or something.

It was like they’d gone bowling, and the crowd were the pins. Styx and Galina had, at least, 300 pounds of solid weight between them, and that was what went barreling into the horde at top speed, parting the Red Sea of humanity. Someone yelled, someone screamed, someone called for help, but she couldn’t make heads or tails from any of it. Someone yanked her ear, but she couldn’t even be sure if that was Galina or an overzealous fan. Didn’t matter, really. All she cared about was the result.

The result was two of them ending up on top of the resulting pile of people, caught up in a mix of security guards and bystanders. This was where Galina’s red hair came in handy - it made her stand out amongst the Japanese, clear as day, easy for Styx to spot as she rose up. The only thing now was to figure out the next step. Styx wanted to hit Galina with something, but there wasn’t anything good in reach.

Oh, well. If she couldn’t hit her with something, she’d have to settle for someone.

Reaching over, she grabbed hold of the nearest person in the middle, a lightweight guy, about their age, wearing an old Silver Ace t-shirt. While she didn’t need anymore incentive to do what she was about to do, that helped the decision along.

Raising up, she grabbed him by his shirt and jeans, lifted him up and threw him hard towards Galina, turning his body into a living missile.

Galina was no stranger to mass crowd pub brawls, heck back in her gypsy camp days she took part in battle royales involving other brawlers from other camps. It led to Galina getting a shot at glory afterwards, so this kind of brawling in the midst was something that Galina was usually comfortable in. But her battered state was making it harder to fully enjoy this kind of thing right now given that Styx was working over the Rose of Russia, regardless it seemed that Galina was more aware of her senses at that particular moment. Regardless the champ was proving that she was creative, because as Galina was getting back to her feet the next thing she knew Styx threw a member of the crowd at her!

Bodily at that, not the simple grab by the hair and yank them at her. No it was pick up and straight up toss at you! Galina took the impact best she could, feeling her back hitting the concrete floor hard. The Gypsy grunted out hard in pain, followed by her on instinct delivering a swift elbow to the back of the guy's head. If he wasn't out of it already he would certainly have been now. Least she could do was take out her frustrations there before she shuffled the guy off of him and muttered "Fucking sue me."

Still that smarted like hell, at this point Galina was crawling backwards. Eventually finding herself near one of those seats that belonged to the arena, one of those pull down seats with armrests. Either way Galina was looking to give herself some sort of recourse at this point, all that pain shooting up into her spine though.........

Oh, there would be much suing going on in the near future, for quite a few parties. Attending AFW fans were required to sign waivers when they paid for their tickets, making sure they were aware that there was always the chance that a fight could pull out into the audience and that they could become unwilling participants in the match, but that was meant to cover things like stray blows or accidental crashes. It most certainly did not cover a wrestler picking them up and chucking them like a free throw.

Styx couldn’t have cared less - in fact, the idea of costing the AFW legal troubles was a nice little bonus to her current carnage. It was also effective as hell, not only putting Galina down for a few moments but giving her a second to recoup, catch her breath, and move in for the kill on her own terms.

Security was busy trying to keep the livid audience at bay, holding them off as a miniature riot started up around them, and they provided good cover for Styx as she made her way through them. She reached out when she was close enough and reached down, grabbing a handful of Galina’s fiery red hair from behind. She yanked her up hard, got her straight, and wrapped her free arm around the woman’s neck, putting her in a tight choke. ”Having fun yet?”

Fuck Galina was on her backfoot here, even so the Rose of Russia was enjoying the fact that she was able to cut loose in her debut. To take the champ on and bloody her in her debut too, Galina wanted to press on however. To actually claim the belt in her debut would be a dream come true, however the reality was that Styx was making it seem very much difficult for the path of the Gypsy. All the while however Galina kept a smile on her face, because she felt the rush of life that came with fighting. Something that only people like she could attest to feeling, the champ remarked on if Galina was having fun yet. To which the Rose of Russia actually chuckled and said "Oh yeah........"

Styx true to form stomped over to Galina, propping her up and intent on trying to choke her out it seemed. Galina however was hoping for something like this, being the scrounger that she was the Rose of Russia was no stranger to using her surroundings to her advantage much like the champ had done so previously. It was a risky move but Galina went for it anyway, she lived life on the edge like that anyway.

Gripping her arms around Styx's neck Galina would make sure she turned her back before the choke was locked in, so that she was facing the stadium chairs. Gritting her teeth Galina would bolt her legs forward into a running motion, so that she could shift herself upwards onto the chair and upwards as fast as she could. To take the champ by complete surprise with an improvised Sliced Bread!

If Styx were being honest - way more honest than she would ever be out loud - she was kind of enjoying this brawl, more than she had expected to. She had figured Galina would be a good opponent for the belt, sure, was impressed enough with her against Abattoir, but wasn’t expecting too much from the redhead. A good romp. A small challenge. Just something to set an example with.

This was...a little more than that. Yeah.

She was putting up more of a fight than Styx expected, staying strong even as she clamped down with the choke. This sort of thing wasn’t her specialty, but she had the upper body strength to knock someone out fast with a good hold, and that was what she thought she had on Galina - until she was proven dead wrong. The girl was wily, fast, and worst of all, smart.

”The fuck-” Styx had just thought her opponent was flailing around, fumbling, didn’t have anything to work with, but she was shown just how wrong she was in short order. Up, up, up, she went, flipping over Styx and upsetting her balance, bringing her down for a hard crash with the Sliced Bread - it would’ve sucked if it happened in the ring, but on the floor it was downright devastating, even on her. She let go of Galina right away and spent her time doing more important things - like rolling about on the floor in a spastic fit, cursing up a storm, and pounding her fist about.

In a fight you had to use whatever you had around you if need be to get results, Galina learned this the first time ever when she tackled a boy in her camp for nicking her doll. He grabbed a nearby lamp and clonked her on the head with it, what followed was a right good thumping for the Rose of Russia. But she was a good learner and took her lickings knowing she could get even if need be.

Styx was showing to everyone that this newcomer wasn't green, that Galina could take anyone on and be guaranteed to give them a hard fought fight. It was a mixture of raw talent and the sort of experience that came with getting your knuckles and jaw bloodied. But Galina also displayed great creativity, using the pull down seats of the arena to catch Styx in a sudden Sliced Bread and taking her down to the concrete floor!

After landing it the surrounding crowd jumped backwards in shock from the athletic display of the Gypsy, Galina would land on her rump somewhat and be a bit shocked herself that she was able to get away with it. But that quickly gave way to a smirk as the MMA girl realised her chance for a turnaround, Galina would kip up to a standing position and then leap up into the air. Hoping to land an elbow drop on Styx's chest before clambering over her and going for a pin attempt. Thankfully the ref wasn't too afraid to at least go near them for it now that the champ was down for the time being!
