Cookies Are Forever

Allies, huh? Janitors and security guards... It was almost too perfect! Jamie couldn't make cookies. She didn't have the... well, the stuff, or an oven, or the... know-how. But she had something even better: someone to do it for her.

She nodded. She had her composure back, and looked genuinely concerned. "Yeah, that does happen. The big crazy one's will just push you around for no reason. You've got to be careful. Are you going to be here tomorrow? You should stand over there, by the front door. That way, you can get people right when they come in, and if anyone tries anything you can get away like that!"

"You don't have to tell me twice to be on my toes." Syvla intoned somberly, face suddenly shifting to serious, earnest intensity. "I've heard all about the bigger girls and being careful." Hanging on to every word out of the most experienced girl's mouth, Sylva nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I'll be back here tomorrow, you can bet on it. Thanks for the advice; I'll make sure to stay by the door! And... and thanks for looking out for me, miss. I really appreciate it." She offered another a smile, this one relieved. Lucky she had met a girl as nice as Jamie on the first day!
