The plan forming in Valley’s head was a simple one, really. Pick him apart at a distance. Throw out quick strikes, nothing too crazy. All she had to do, really was to work on him like most of her opponents tried to work on her. Aiming for the low shots to wear away on her mobility, cutting her off and slowing her down. That sort of thing. Her kicks were a good way to do that, giving her a way to wear him down with minimal risk.

Or so she thought.

That notion was proven wrong when Edward dipped down, moving with a speed and sureness that could only come from rigorous scouting - moving as if he knew the move she was about to do as she did it. He grabbed her leg, and while the normal response would’ve been just to lift her other and smack him with an enziguiri, she was too slow on the draw this time, taken off guard by the sudden snag and left open. A big problem with a foe like this.

By the time her brain had caught up, Edward was already spinning her about, whipping her leg around and making the rest of her body follow suit. Valley was sent reeling, spiraling through the air, and she came down for a nasty fall on her arm. She kept with the momentum and rolled to her feet soon after, but her world was still spinning when she did, leaving her wobble-legged and whirlwind-eyed, open to attack.

There were various factors involved in Ed's counter. His long time of watching Valley tapes, her similar attempts at testing him earlier in the match, and just the sheer luck that she was doing a "Test" kick and not a full powered one, as there was no way he could take a full on Valley kick to the ribs and still catch it after.

Still, none of that mattered at the moment, what mattered was that, regardless, he managed to pull it off, taking the former Entropy Champion off of her feet, leaving herself open as she did so. "Gotcha!" he crowed, feeling a bit of pride and sensing opportunity, now charging in towards the older woman while she was still off balance. With a leap, he once again caught his legs around her neck, from the front this time, thighs on her shoulders, before the blonde teen threw his body back, flipping backwards and using his legs to bring Valley along for the ride, bringing the woman down onto her back with a successful Hurricanrana this time.

As soon as she was on her back, Edward seated atop of her, he reached back, hooking the veterans powerful legs under his arms and leaning down as far forward as he could, nearly pressing his head against the mat as he tried to make the pin as tight as he possibly could in his attempt to score a quick win over the former Slamazon!

"ONE!"

The ref girl cried out, slapping her hand against the mat...while Edward blushed bright red, and tried to ignore the...side effects of using a tight hurricanrana pin like this.

Valley had been in her fair amount of Dragon Screws in her time - as a woman who used kicks so much, it was pretty much common territory. In that whole time, however, she’d never figured out a way to get used to the counter, constantly caught off guard by it. It seemed like an impossible move to really deal with - her entire world was sent spinning, and it was like her brain needed a moment to catch up with the rest of her body. Time that left her wide open for a critical, crucial moment, that only the dullest opponent would let slip. Edward was clearly not that dull.

No, he came hard for her, moving in to close the distance with a quick stride. She tried to move back as he leaped, but her world was still off kilter and there was no stopping it. He snatched her back with the hurricanrana, brought her hard to the ground with him on top, and his package quite close to her face. That was far off thought, though, as the count began.

”2…!”

She threw her legs up after the hand hit the canvas, kicking out at 2.1. She tried to push him off and roll over to her chest, wanting to make some distance between them as she rose.

So close, so close-Damnit!

So much for a quick victory. Still, was worth the effort.

Forced off of the older woman, he pushed himself up, face still red. For a moment, he opened his mouth, about to apologize for the whole "boner in face" thing, but quickly let the words die, too embarrassed to actually say it. This was wrestling, such things happened. Instead, he kept his distance, fumbling for words.

"...You uh...you alright? Didn't catch you too of guard there did I?"

Did Edward catch her off guard?

Yes. Yes, he did. Clearly.

But that didn’t mean anything if he didn’t follow up, which he didn’t. She could appreciate the young man, being all polite and concerned about her welfare. But that didn’t mean she wouldn’t be taking advantage of it.

”I’m good. Thanks for asking.” She took a glance over her shoulder to establish distance, then went in action. She threw her body into a backflip to move in, then spun about with a wide arcing kick, looking to nail him in the head with a leaping roundhouse kick.

Ed was being nice, giving Valley a moment to recover. He should have followed up, he knew it...but he was a nice guy, and as a gesture of respect and courtesy, checked on her first, even if the crowd, knowing better, was yelling at him to think otherwise.

Little did he know the mistake he was making.

As Valley got up and claimed she was good, Ed stepped in, intending on following up with a proper attack...when Valley caught him off guard, her sudden backflip making him stop to avoid running into her...and then got caught in the side of the skull by her kick, a loud "SMACK" sound as her boot crashed into the blonde boys head, the sound actually echoing in the closed arena as the crowd half gasped, half cheered at the brutal kick.

Ed didn't even make a sound, the pink and white clad teen paying for his youthful indulgence, crumpling to the mat, eyes open wide in shock and pain as an explosion went off in his brain, his limp body looking for all the world like he was KOed!

The crowd weren’t the only ones surprised by that kick - it took Valley off guard, too, and she was the one who delivered it. She’d made the move up on a whim, didn’t expected to hit it nearly as clean as she did, and was ready to follow up in the likely event that it missed.

Instead, it hit, as clean as a sheet. She came down from the blow and Ed followed soon after, collapsing in a heap so fast that Valley leaped back in surprise.

Was he out? He looked like he was out.

One way to make sure, though.

Valley dropped down to her knees, rolled Ed over, planted her chest against and went for the pin, this time without any intimate shenanigans.

Ed certainly seemed to be out as Valley mounted and pinned him, chest softly rising and falling, an almost peaceful look on his face...aside from the deep red mark already forming from where her kick hit.

The first pin count, the loud sound of the ref girls hand smacking against the mat, seemed to jostle him, a soft groan coming from him as the ref girl shouted out "ONE!"

The second slap caused him to stir more, head turning a bit, a shiver going through his body that Valley would feel as he stirred, while the ref girl yelled aloud "TWO!"

As she raised her hand for a third time, Edwards young body, either out of instinct, or some delayed reaction to the kick, bucked upwards. Not enough to jostle Valley off of him, but just enough to break contact from his shoulders and the mat, just enough for the ref girl to call off the pin, raising two fingers in the air, to the surprise and delight of the crowd.

For his own part, Ed, groaning aloud, eyes fluttering open, seemed...lost. Punch drunk at the least, if not concussed outright, his head swam in a fog, unsure of exactly where he was...until he felt a body on top of his, a soft firmness pressing on his bare chest that indicated a feminine form. His stunned mind raced to put together an idea of what was happening, coming up with his previous opponent, the lovely Naomi, and their post-match shenanigans...

Thus, making what he didn't yet realize was a very wrong conclusion, Edwards arms slowly raised and wrapped around Valleys back, his legs wrapping gently around one of her own, holding her close to him in his daze. "Naomi, it's too early to get up, lets just...stay in bed a bit longer alright?" he muttered, the ref girl having to resist a chuckle as she stayed close in case of another pin attempt.

Valley wasn’t sure what to make of Edward. Granted, she’d known him for less than ten minutes, so it was far too early to draw conclusions, but even so, he’d given her plenty of clues to work with. She just wasn’t sure what they all came to.

She didn’t expect this pin count would work, but she didn’t think it would have the weird reaction it did, either. He kicked out of the pin - sort of. It was a lazy escape, and one that involved him wrapping his legs around one of hers and holding him in a loving embrace as he called out some past lover. Naomi? The name was familiar, but she was having a hard time placing it, especially as the audience had a field day with the display before them. Catcalls, whistles, lewd comments the whole nine yards. About what you’d expect from an AFW audience, she had to say.

She had a long, haggard sigh and rolled her eyes, trying to take it all in stride. It was cute, really, but it was starting to cross the line. Best to shut this down before people took the wrong ideas.

”Hey.” She pushed up and gave him a few quick slaps in the face. ”Nap time’s over, back to reality.”

Ed's rather awkward dreaming daze came to an end as Valley's slaps, while not overly hard, still stung enough to wake him from it. Shaking his blonde head, he blinked rapidly, emerald eyes now coming into focus, his vision of Naomi being replaced by a different woman...with blonde hair...and pink and white...

Oh dear god.

Valley would easily be able to tell the moment Edward realized just what position he was in and what he was doing, his eyes going as wide as dinner plate before he freed himself from her, scrambling away backwards towards the ropes and shooting onto his feet, dizzly stumbling as he tried to get his footing.

"Oh my god, I am so sor-Ow!"

He was cut off from his attempted apology, grabbing the now bruised and purple spot on the side of his head where her kick had knocked him out earlier, while his entire face was bright red in embarrassment, the crowd catcalling and laughing and clearly enjoying themselves at his expense.
